Hello Miz Tricia!! I've had problems with the sleep lately too. Tigger (my 16 year old cat, who weighs 18 lbs.) wakes me up EVERY morning. Yesterday, he decided to wake me at 4:45 am!! So I pushed him off the bed. He came back at 6:20. I got up a few minutes later.

Suzy - totally agree with Rolanda - that is harassment whether the boy is 8 or not - someone has told him too much and encouraged him. My grandson is 11 and while he knows about these things would never consider doing anything like that! How gross! He needs a strict talking to.
Suzanne - that's a great purple in that avatar.
Viv - I tried on the Katies coat today but as expected, it looked ridiculous on me but I bought a nice reasonably dressy plum/purple cardigan and a great scarf for Friday (will wear with black pants and boots).

Good Late Evening (11:45 p.m.) to Everyone!
V Viv, you mentioned buying a purple pair of bras and "a purple trench coat from Katie's." Do you wear them together? It's quite a visual!

Suzy.... that behavior here would cause the 8 year old boy to be expelled from school. Not suspended, but expelled.

As soon as the dogs finish eating, I'm off to bed. Now that the house is comfortable again, I should be able to get a good night's sleep. I do need to check the radar to see if there's gonna be any thunderstorms tonight. ........ OK. It looks like everything is going north of us tonight!

Hi to Gail, Heidi, V Viv, CynB, June, Brenda, Suzy, Tami, Nola, Suzanne, Rolanda, MizTricia, all on page 281).
Gail, I hope Beth and her friend have a wonderful, fun, safe time in Bali!
Thank you for the information on the name Violanthe, Viv! I think it's a great name, too! (Hubby had an aunt named Violet and D gave one of her children the middle name of Violette.)
June, I hope your drink helped improve your cough! Congrats on playing well in the club bowls triples championship today! I hope you get some restful sleep and the cough is soon gone!
Viv, no wonder you're tired with all of your jumping in and out of the car! That's one fantastic Avon order you mailed out! Is that all for one person, or does she do the ordering for her friends as well?
Heidi, I hope the weather has improved and the storms have moved out of your area! I can imagine getting some sleep with so many dogs in close proximity on the bed was NOT restful! What a relief that your AC was fixed - AND that you got IH to pay!
Tami, I'm glad your Bobbi and Bernie's AC was fixed also! Your frozen pizza for dinner sounds better than what I had: corn on the cob. I was very excited, as hubby bought some fresh corn today at a roadside stand recommended by his friend. The first bite was good, but after that, it lacked the expected sweetness. We were both disappointed.
Suzy, that was an awful experience that Ebob had! I'm so glad she told BOTH the younger and older brothers off! I suspect they younger has seen/heard the older doing something similar, but it's NO excuse! What MizT said - definitely shold be considered s3xual harassment!
Wow, I just realized that MizT was allowed to post her comment with the word s3xual spelled correctly!
MizT, I hope the meds work appropriately tonight and you are able to sleep. Thank goodness you had a good book!

Suzanne, I'm so sorry that Tigger wanted you to get up so early! One of our cats spends quite a bit of the night on our bed. (Thankfully, she no longer prefers to sleep on my thighs!) Our cats don't gobble down their food all at once, but "graze" throughout the day and night. If I don't remember to be sure there's a bit of food set out before I go to bed, she'll come and wake us up during the night to remind us and complain.
CynB, I bet you'll look quite striking with your new cardigan and scarf for Aunty Vi's celebration of life!
Heidi, I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight with the cooler temperature inside and no storms showing on the radar!
I need to go check out Suzy's link.
Good Night, Heidi, if the dogs eat quickly and you head to bed before I get back.

Suzy, that was really interesting! Black boxes and voice recordings are such an important part of the investigation into aircraft crashes! I think some cars now have a version of a black box to record information as well.
Gppd Night, Everyone, especially MizT, Heidi and June! Sleep well! See you tomorrow! Hugs to all!

Suzy - I did know that was an Australian invention but hadn't heard that he died. If you're going to invent something - that one is as good as any - unless you can invent something that will stop a plane crashing in the first place! But it sure has helped with lots of crash investigations. Have seen every episode of 'Air Crash Investigation' - doesn't help my fear of flying - just morbid curiousity, I think.

Evening all!
Hopefully this post won't go off into the ether!
The young boy has (apparently) been suspended from school more than once for harrassment. He didn't learn that rubbish in a vacuum! Some people need their buttocks kicked! (Wonder if that will get me banned?)
Gail, I like your geek, but don't love him - love my geek!
Nomnom is banned from our end of the house at night because she likes to wake us up around 3am. When we get up she is freaky needy! Not just food, but TLC.

Broni, I hope your life quietens down a little soon! Well, actually I think I should qualify that. If it's good things keeping you away, bring them on! If it's not, I hope to see more of you soon...
Baby is sitting on my shoulder! He is turning into a pet... And Nomnom is in her favourite place by the fire and not even flying birds is going to move her.

Morning friends, thought I would drop in with my coffee and say good morning. I will be out and about today, have therapy and all the " while you are out" stops. Reminds me, still need to get my list of those made, lest I forget something.
Suzy, you are right, that child did not learn that in a vacuum, I picked up on that when older brother thought it funny.
Gail, did geek hubby do something nice for your puter? Or was that just a statement in general? I need to get my resident geek to work on my puter a bit, but he seems to be booked elsewhere.
I did sleep better overnight, just one small intermission, thank you for those wishes, I think it was Julie?
Well, I have to get presentable and also have breakfast, I launch in 90 minutes. Hope to check in later today. Hugs to all in need.

Hello everyone!
I'm just dropping in quickly before bed. I hope you all have a great day in the North. Sleep well you Southern folk (in case vdv flies by).
#1 and #2 sons have taken up home brewing. We'll see how that goes - first batch will be ready in 10 days.
My bed is calling as I have to take Kevin to the station for the 7:26 train in the morning. I then head off to work (half an hour ahead of my usual time) so I've ironed tomorrows clothes and am just about to finish the dishes and head for bed.
Goodnight all (and hugs and kisses to all the geeky husbands).

I suppose I should have qualified that statement. Yes Tricia, hubby did fix my computer. I was doing something on another site and it all just froze. Hubby was having a catch up nap at the time, so I didn't want to disturb him, so I tried rebooting which didn't work, then shut it down. When I told him the symptoms, there was a lot of under-breath mumblings along the lines of 'That doesn't sound good', and 'I don't like the sounds of that', not very reassuring at all. :(
He worked out that my hard drive must have been cactus, and, being the geek he is, just happened to have a spare! Within an hour I was a very happy Vegemite!

Brenda, he is extremely pleased at not having to do the travel on a regular basis. We are managing very well with the treatment side of things, the only real issue at the moment is that hubby still is not managing to sleep properly during those hours...I, on the other hand, sleep from woe to go, but as he says, I have to wake up instantly with full faculties at around 6.30am, when he comes off the machine. Not sure if I have already mentioned it, but he calls me Nursey, I even take his bloods! He is managing to get a few hours after coming off, but he 'hits the wall' mid afternoon.
We do still have to do a bit of travel back and forth to the hospital where the home training unit is, so that we can pick up certain supplies, and return his blood samples, but we feel this is a small price to pay for our independence.

Good Maen everyone! It is SO nice to have a geek for a husband!! Darrell fixes EVERYTHING!! I have my own set of tools in the house, and I know how to use them, I just get lazy & want him to take care of whatever it is.
Just got my first cup of coffee! Nothing better than that. We had a bit of rain last night (about 10 minutes) mostly thunder & lightning. No relief from the heat. It's 8 a.m. and already 80 degrees!!

Good afternoon everyone.
I have read all the posts, but my mind is not retaining things right now. I have the grandies over so their mom can grab a nap. Also have the oldest grandie over for a sleepover tonight. Promises to be a night with little sleep.
Hubby has gone to a burial service for one of his cousins. He was in his 40's and had a heart attack on the way to work in the morning on the weekend, and hit a tree. It's sad to have that happen at such a young age. I had met him a few times in the past, but don't really remember him. The family had a private funeral service with immediate family only, but the burial service is today and open to all.
I have to take my oldest cat Taz (15 or 16) to the vet tomorrow morning and I'm fearing the worst. He is my favourite cat. I know, I know, we're not supposed to have favourites! Tomorrow is also our 35th wedding anniversary, but I don't think I'll feel much like celebrating. We'll probably go out for dinner on the weekend once things slow down a bit.
Weather is somewhat cooler and they're predicting thunderstorms this afternoon. We've had a smattering of rain so far, but that's about it.

Suzy...the 8 yr old and his brother are disgusting.
I still need to read your link but gather the black box was an Aussie invention.
Nursey Gail..it is good that at least 1 of you can sleep.Does the machine make a lot of noise?
Does Hubby have a cannula in place or do you do it each time?

I am SO jealous of all of you with husbands who are geeks or are handy. I'm the one here who has to keep replacement parts for everything and has to do all the repairs. I even have to occasionally reboot IH's computer for him. I've come to the conclusion that the 3 most important qualities for a man are 1) A sense of humor, 2) Honesty and 3) Geekiness.

Beautiful avatar Heidi.
Greg is very handy around the house but doesn't like cleaning. He will do washing and cooking can fix the cars, mower etc.I tried to shame him into doing more inside by getting a cleaner to wash the floors. All it did was make my daughter feel that she should be helping me more. This is the 2nd time that the cleaner has come now and it is great to come home to a cleaner house. For us this is very extravagant and something I have never done before.I even went without a medication for 2 weeks and still Greg wont do floors.Oh well,he is good in so many other ways.

Hi all. read the posts but since I feel brain damaged after a day at camp I don't remember most.
Suzy, about the boy who harassed Ebob: He had to learn the behavior somewhere. If there are any local authorities you can call, I would. I would not be surprised to find out that he has been abused by an adult and is just acting out the behavior done to him. Abused children tend to become abusers. Do I sound like a teacher?
