I decided to suffer today. I didn't call the repairman. I decided to wait for IH to come home and melt. I am going to force him to pay the repair bill.

Good for you, Heidi! (And great TOPP!) I hope you and the dogs sleep well tonight!

And now, I'm off to bed (nearly 12:30 a.m. here)

Hugs and positive vibes to all!

This is the most purple avatar I have.

For Vi ♥

Yes, Julie, spot on, it is the same daughter who went to Bali last year. Last year, she met up with a girlfriend who was over there at the time, so Beth went from Australia to Bali all by herself...this is the same child who wouldn't go up and put her order in at a food counter without someone holding her hand!
This time she is going with a mate, so 'Not all by self', as she would put it :)

The name "Violanthe" sounds like a cross between "Violet" and "Iolanthe", a Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera about a fairy queen. I think it is a marvelous name.

Love the name.
Back to my smiley face upside down avatar.
The only one I have with some purple in it.
This is my favourite colour of the moment too.
Just bought a purple pair of bra's and a purple trench coat from Katies.

The girl's name Violanthe \vi(o)-lan-the, viol(a)-nthe\ is a variant of Violante (Greek, Latin) and Violet (Latin), and the meaning of Violanthe is "purple flower".
Violanthe is an uncommon first name for women and an equally uncommon last name for both men and women. (1990 U.S. Census)

I love you people so much!!! Those purple avatars are great - thanks so much. Vi would be touched.
Viv - thanks also for the details on Violanthe as a name - so my Papa was not that far out. Isn't it amazing that her name meant purple flower - I doubt that she ever knew that. Just loved the colour and when she wore it, it almost turned her bright blue eyes purple.
Her service is 4pm Friday afternoon and it will be a celebration of her life - I expect many amusing stories - there are plenty to choose from.
Viv - I just looked at those purple trench coats in Katies this afternoon but decided against them for me - they were double-breasted and that makes a big person like me look bigger!

Sorry about all the topsiders with poor or broken down AC. I like to have mine on when it is summer. Thoughts to you all. I am too tired to concentrate.

Viv - don't be silly - you're half my size and the coat will look great on you, loose or buttoned up - OK?

Hello to everyone else.
I should hit the sack here, have had a big day.
Must have got in and out of the car a 100 times putting brochures in letterboxes. Did a run out to the Rollands Plains School to deliver some Avon. Am mailing a parcel of Avon to a customer in Wee Waa tomorrow, worth $362.

These thunderstorms are getting on my nerves. We're having 3 or 4 a day, too many to keep Dennis and Hollie tranked. One of the new dogs, Molly, is also neurotic about storms. She has started to wrap herself around my head when I'm in bed and a storm starts. Last night, with no A/C, I had 6 collies piled on the bed wanting comfort. It was like being in a sauna. I didn't get much sleep.

I sympathize with you Heidi, it's bad enough when our two dogs decide to sleep on the bed.
Hope the t storms pass soon. We are expecting rain tonight, hopefully it will bring cooler weather with it.

We're supposed to have waves of thunderstorms for the next 3 days at least. At least the A/C repairman is supposed to be here in a couple of hours. I don't know if I can handle anymore days and nights of indoor temps in the mid 80's. And with the storms, it's nearly 90% humidity inside. Right now I have a box fan from the barn inside giving the dogs some relief.

They haven't shown up yet to fix the central air. I may sweat off some weight, though. It's 86℉ / 30℃ INSIDE right now, with 88% humidity!! And this is with a big fan going, and all the windows open for a breeze.

I am enjoying a nice quiet house. Hubby took the boys to practice baseball. they should be gone almost 2 hours. I am playing on the pooter and Rachel is resting at my feet, under the table. She is also a spoiled doggie, but not too bad. After all, she is my only girl.

Hope everyone gets their AC fixed soon. Mom got hers fixed today, luckily it was minor.

I will be back later. I need to take a shower after being at camp all day.

I don't know what it cost. I successfully manipulated IH into paying it. As the repairman finished the job, I called IH over, mouthed ''You're paying'', and walked away.

CynB... Think very hairy, panting dogs. I think they were having a drooling contest. Molly kept drooling all over my forehead, and Dennis and Hollie soaked my comforter. Cindy, Missy and Willow just were clingy.

haha Tami! You know me too well!!

Funny experience this morning. Hubby and I went in to the doc together since we were both there. Hubby left to go to work and then I spoke to the doc. When I was leaving I found out hubby hadn't paid his bill!!! I paid it and then calle him and laughed at him. It all comes out of the same kitty in this house so it didn't really matter - except what would have happened if I hadn't been there??!!

An experience to ponder:

Ebob is 17. An 8 year old boy that she knows walked up to her making groping movements with his hands and saying r@pe, r@pe, r@pe, and then pretended to r@pe her leg. She first told him off, and then his older brother who thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Suzy, where did this happen? At School? Such conduct here would be considered sexual harassment, even if the child did not know what he was doing. that child needs a good talking to, some counseling, something. If it were my daughter, I would be contacting his parents. If he does this at 8, what will he do at 16??

Heidi, glad you have AC and Gil paid, you handled that nicely. Making hubby a nice meal to take some of the sting out of the bill he had to pay?

Rolanda, enjoy lunch with the boys, what are you serving?

I have read, but no time to comment further. Slept most of today, cause I did not last night, I was up reading till after daylight. Instead of making me sleepy last night, meds gave me wide awakes, hate it when that happens. Very glad i had a good book, "Cold Mountain".
