I'm still dealing with a tummy upset, sad to say. At least Robert's neck is feeling better. He can turn it now. There's no word as to when he'll have his operation. IH's assistant just had her gallbladder removed, and she had a 7 month wait for the surgery. I don't understand why all the wait when there is so much pain involved with gallstones.

Morning all!
MizT, it makes perfect sense to group things in the pantry. You could tell hubby that it's because you're lazy and don't want to have to spend time looking for things. He could probably live with lazy.

Heidi, is the wait because he's on a waiting list or because it is recommended? I have a friend who had to wait. Something about the texture of her inflamed gall bladder making it difficult to remove. I think they said it was 'spongy'.

MizT, sounds perfectly logical to me to have the pantry organised...we do! Then as you said, you can see at a glance what is needed.

BTW Hi everyone, sorry about being MIA, just busy and bored, all at the same time. Nothing much to say so haven't really popped in.

I agree MizT, if it's organized you can tell at a glance what's available and what's needed. Saves time in the long run.

Had a nice visit today with my sister and BIL, but too short. Also looked after the grandies for a couple of hours while they made birthday presents for their mom's birthday tomorrow. Homemade necklaces all around. They worked at them for about two hours ... they are so cute. I'll be making supper tomorrow evening for my daughter's birthday ... the girls are helping their dad make a cake. I feel the pounds adding on already ...

Hi everyone. Here is an update on camp. Camp will end on Aug. 13 and I go back to school Aug 16. The kids go back on Aug 23. I get a weekend off before school. Suzy asked about accidents. Yes, there have been 2. One of my counselors dislocated his shoulder the second week of camp. He fell ice skating. It was a clean dislocation, no broken bone, and he has been recuperating nicely. He was back at work the next day, he just could not play sports with the kids. He did referee and participated the best he could. He wants to be an actor so I told him now he would have a reference point for acting out "pain" He laughed at that one.
This monday, one of my campers broke his wrist. He and another boy got their feet tangled up and he fell. He claims the other boy tripped him on purpose. I had to ride with him in the ambulance and stay with him until his mother came. She is consulting a lawyer because the boy claims he was being bullied. I don't agree but it will be interesting to see what happens. I can not wait for the next two weeks to be over. It will almost be a relief to get back to my real job. (I can't believe I just said that)

I have had a lot going on the last year, most of which I have not mentioned here. I know I can vent if I need to, but just having all my friends around has been enough.
Mitchell and I are going to temple in the morning. He is going to read a portion of the Torah. Now that he has had his Bar Mitzvah, he is considered a man and can have all the honors of an adult. It is an honor to be asked to be part of the service. I have absolutely no idea how to read Hebrew and I am proud of him. Dylan and dad are going to spend some time together.

Good morning all - I can't remember everything I read so I'll just comment on what I remember.
MizT - I agree with you abour organising the pantry, I do too and generally hubby doesn't interfere. I am also pedantic about my shopping trolley - arranging it so all groups are kept together - cold/frozen foods, fruit and veg, etc - makes it easier for the person packing and easier to unload at home.
Theresa - despite the financial side of losing your job, I'll bet it's good to just sit there without the pressure of knowing there's work to do! (I do know there's still plenty to do personally.)
Broni - lovely to see you about, we miss you.
Heidi - did I miss news of the judging or haven't you heard yet.
Suzy - do you mean those ladies were scam artists and could have stolen your purse?? Leaves a bad feeling doesn't it. Those of us who like to be good samaritans are so put off by that behaviour that we may ignore those in genuine distress/need.
June - I'll be in that - a day of good vibes and good news!! For all!

Thanks Gail. I appreciate it. I may tell all one day, but not yet. Knowing all my friends here support me no matter what really does help. My husband does not understand, but I don't care.

Hi Cyn, looks like we were typing at the same time. I agree about being a good samaritan. I also try to help people, but have become very cautious. There are too many horror stories of good samaritans getting hurt.

I knew I missed a few -

I am very proud of Mitchell. The "big" holidays are coming, Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur. The temple called me today to see if Mitchell would like to read a torah portion on one of those days. That is a really big honor.

Afternoon all!
I lay it all out there for you guys! Well, most of it anyway. I do keep back some stuff about the kids and hubby (believe it or not), but you know pretty much all there is to know about me. Isn't that depressing???

Tami, hugs from me <3. I'm so proud of Mitchell!

Cyn, I don't know if they were scam artists or not, but I was told about someone who did a similar deed recently and had her purse taken. Might not have been the same ladies. They could have taken whatever they wanted, I helped take groceries to the door, left my purse open on the floor, keys in the ignition etc. Nothing went missing.

Broni, glad to hear things are settling down. We have seen a little more of you too!

You've reminded me to double check something on snopes. Years ago signs went up everywhere not to flash your lights at a car which didn't have it's lights on because it was part of a gang initiation. I think I read it was a hoax, but thought of it last night when I flashed my lights at a young driver - who waved his thanks at me.

Heidi, what a jerk.

Checking in fore I go back to bed/ I have slept the afternoon away, and still sleepy. I do hope I can sleep tonight. Doc had changed my pain meds, to something milder, and I took one about 2 pm. By three I was flat out in bed. At 8 pm, I woke hungry and smelled dinner, hubby was heating the spaghetti sauce I made this morning. Nice to wake to smells of good food when ya hungry.

Thanks for the comments on an organized pantry. and no, June, hubby does not keep anything of his organized. spends hours hunting things fore any project and lots of money buying things he knows he already has, somewhere, but cannot find.

see you tomorrow, Hugs to all.

Hello, Everyone! Did I forget to come here for a visit yesterday - or has this been a very busy day? Nearly 2.5 or 3 pages of post to read, and I'm just getting started at midnight. (Just got off the phone with my youngest sister. She was calling from Burlington, VT, where she had been teaching this week. Luckily I was sitting at the computer when she called and could grab the phone before it woke up hubby or our guests upstairs!)

Nola, I'm so sorry to hear that you got the message that the Server could not be found! I hope that doesn't happen again!

OMG, I just lost an ENTIRE page of comments! Hubby got up, told me the time, gave me a hug, and I must have bumped into something that deleted all but the 2 still here. I just can't believe it, especially since I usually try to save occasionally as I type. My apologies to everyone! Sending oodles of love and hugs and positive vibes to all of you!

Gotta run now, as it's nearly 12:45 a.m.! Good Night!

Tami, I think we probably all have things we keep to ourselves, even me believe it or not. Sometimes it helps to see things written down and know it is being read by people who care or who have been through similar things. Just know that we're thinking about you and when you wish to vent, we're here. Congratulations to Mitchell.

Theresa, Happy birthday to your daughter. Hugs to you Tami and congratulations to Mitchell. This is an open site and we all have things that we do not want the whole world to be able to read.
it has been a busy day. We even made a 'practice' birthday cake for Laura. (Her birthday is in two weeks). That kept her occupied for a couple of hours and was dessert for dinner tonight. She is having a farm yard with lots of animals!

Another full day at bowls tomorrow. Playing mixed 'fours'. it is a very different game when you play with men in the team.
That reminds me I had better find where I put last Tuesday's results of the Championship Games as I am the Publicity Officer and I have to send them in to the local paper.

Well that job is done. I will now go and organise my clothes for tomorrow. A sunny afternoon so the washing got dry!
Heidi, some people are morons.Other peoples allergies are not something to trifle with.
Enjoy your evening in from of your wood fire Suzy. I grew up trusting everyone and now it is so disappointing that we now cannot do a good turn for someone without feeling some distrust.

Oh, I know he's a real jerk. So do a number of other people. But since nobody else wants to take over the responsibility of being in charge of all the "cooks", he's allowed to do what he wants.

In an hour and a half, I get to pick up my eggs and see if I won anything. I'm not holding my breath. This hasn't been a good year for me. I entered a gorgeous Tom Turkey in the State Fair (starting in 2 1/2 weeks) and he was killed by predators. It's way too late to enter anything else.

I didn't get much sleep last night. We had a surprise thunderstorm. That meant 6 shaking and panting Collies on the bed . A couple of others wanted to come up, but there was no room.... and very little room for me.

Theresa, I have a lovely flower avatar all ready to send to you. I need your e-mail address. Theresa, can you send it by private message?

Once you have the e-mail with the graphic, you have to save it to your computer, then send it in to the site to become your avatar.

If you would like something other than this stylized flower, let me know, I can work on it another day. this was just a graphic I had on my puter , unused as an avatar.

After a very late start last night, I had a wonderful night's sleep, a full 7 hours without intermission! Feel tolerable this morning, have some stuff to do, you know, the everyday, do again and again things. I would like to come to the end of those so i can find something I want to do.

Never did get that pillow cover sewn yesterday. I do not cool that room and ti became too hot to bear.

Noisy ScreechKitty is insisting on going out and needs my assistance. Guess I will do a few things and come back later.

I think it is like riding a bicycle, might take you a few extra moments to get the hang of it, to feel comfortable, but after not making any avatars in my print shop program in months, I made a new one for Theresa. Hope she will like it and will send address soon so I can get these too her.

Back from picking up the eggs. The carved Emu egg confused the judge and won nothing. The people in charge said that next year they'll make a class specifically for it to avoid that confusion. The painted egg won it's class.

Afternoon all.

MizT, Julie did help me with selecting avatars some time ago. Unfortunately I didn't have time to look into it. I hope to get to that this week though, depending on how my daughter is doing. My apologies to Julie for not doing this sooner. I will however send my email address to you in any case, MizT.

Off to get groceries for tonight's birthday supper for my daughter. TTFN.
