We're having a thunderstorm, again. I had work to do outside which will have to be postponed. Drat. It was the sort of thing that took only a little effort and looked like a lot was done.

No T storme here today, yet, although they were forecast. Instead we have horrible humidity, Dew points higher than I have ever seen them, 78, 79, 80!! We are once again under heat advisory. I had become spoiled! Yesterday we barely reached 90 for 2 hours mid afternoon, I could go outside, then this today, AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGG!!!

Just made my first attempt at hand sewing, something I enjoyed so much. It was a disaster. Just threading the needle was an exercise in frustration. I managed to hem 1/2 of one leg of a pair of summer pants. At this rate, I might get to wear them before winter, if I am lucky. I am icing the complaining thumb now.

Tomorrow perhaps I can finish the first leg.

Morning all!
Ebob has day 2 of her Senior First Aid training today. She's loving it.

Ally is going to try to sleep until lunch time - when she can eat again. 40 hours is a long time for we spoiled westerners to go without food!

I'm proud of both of my girls and the community spirit they have shown this weekend. Ally could have piked on the famine as they already raised money singing, but didn't. Ebob has said she will always volunteer with St Johns and wants to open a diabetes support centre here because she was talking to a woman whose 14 year old has diabetes and is having trouble getting him to understand that it's not something you do every other day, it's forever and all the time.

Now if they could just remember to turn off the bathroom light so it doesn't keep our neighbour awake all night...

Hubby, I mean Sherlock, was offed by Bameril Lacrosse, the celebrity chef who started off cooking for Sherlock years ago and gave him food poisoning a couple of times a week. Sherlock was going to fire him and expose his beginnings. I'm kinda glad as Bameril wore the worst rug you've ever seen!

Cha Cha Merengue was all over Sherlock all night! And Mag Niffle was annoyed with him as he'd dumped her. Bit of a floozy my hubby!

Just finished feeding my orchids. Like the birds, they LOVE the sunroom. They've been barely clinging to life for years, and only occasionally blooming. Now they have all kinds of new growth. I've added some new ones to the collection, too.

Heidi, with all the birds and the rejuvenated orchids, you will have a tropical paradise there in your sun room. It sounds wonderful. NOW, where are the photos?

I have only voted once so far for each ... it won't let me vote again yet, but will try before I go to bed.

MizT, I don't envy you your humid weather. I hate to say it, but for us it was a cool rainy day. Too cool for summer, but I'm not complaining because it's excellent for sleeping.

MizT, sorry about the hand sewing. The arthritis in my little fingers sometimes prevents me from doing crafts, or doing them for very long. It's amazing how lack of use of digits can affect us in so many ways.

Heidi, your sun room does sound like a paradise to escape to.

Suzy, I've been trying to do a bit of knitting and crocheting, when it's not too hot and my fingers don't bother me. The grandies have told me their stuffed animals that they sleep with need blankets. Grandma better get the lead out.

Theresa, only a grandma could knit blankies for stuffed animals. Enjoy the cool weather. It is hot and we had a wonderful afternoon thunderstorm. It was so much fun to drive in it today.
Suzy, sounds like the mystery dinner was a lot of fun.
Heidi, the sun room is sounding nicer and nicer. I could use a nap in it.
MizT, hope the hand gets better.

The sunroom IS looking nicer every day. Besides the orchids, I also have Bougainvillea plants. They haven't started flowering yet since I bought young plants.

Greetings to everyone! No time to read - and the pages are adding up again!

Tomorrow will be the third day in a row to get up at 5. We've been leaving the house at 6:30 a.m. and getting home around 10:30 p.m. (for the wood turning symposium). We now have over 850 pens turned and ready to present to service people serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

I hope to get back for a visit here and some time to read in a day or two. In the meantime, hugs, prayers and positive vibes to everyone!

June, what Gail said and then some more...

Julie, that is a lot of pens! A credit to you and your group of volunteers...

Tami, I wish I could send some rest over your way..

Heidi, I like your avatar! And I'd love to see photos of your sunroom.. Are you holding off because you haven't set it up the way you want yet? I'd love to see them anyway!

Ebob is now officially qualified to provide first aid.

Ally is almost ready to go back to TKD for her grading.

I forgot to mention about this party - hubby does not enjoy parties and only goes because I do enjoy them. As the murdered person he was the centre of attention from the beginning of the party until the end! Guess how much he enjoyed that?

Tired tonight. Laura's Dad dropped her here this morning, she helped me with some sewing by removing all the pins (Belinda's aprons) and then we caught a train to the city and then a ferry across the harbour to manly. She had a paddle in the water before we returned home. We should both get to bed early tonight!

Just remembered I had not brought in the washing. I have put it on the airer in front of the heater so it will be OK.
I have to take Laura to her swimming lesson tomorrow. Half hour lesson, an hour playing at the pool and then lunch with Sharon's group and the kids (all from swimming) It takes up most of the day.

Fun movie... You've just reminded me that my kids need something to wear to school tomorrow June. Yikes!

It feels very cold for swimming lessons June, even in a heated pool. I remember doing them when I was a youngun though.

I've just had a bit of a growl at Three. I'm annoyed at myself too. He came for dinner tonight and brought some games with him. I heard lots of laughter and squealing so thought nothing of it. Then I heard 'stop r@ping me'. They were playing Halo!!!! I went in there and said r@pe is never entertaining. He looked embarassed and said he had stopped. I should have paid attention earlier.

Good Morning Sudokuland. I am up earlier this morning after sleeping like a baby, that is, up every 2 hours!! I just could not stay adsleep last night, bummer.

Another hot and humid day in store with heat advisories again, extending till midnight tonight. I guess that means it will not cool down much with sunset. Expected heat index of 110. Double bummer.

Nice not to have to cook breakfast this morning. We still have a choice, muffins or biscuits. If I get ambitious fore hubby wakes, I should make him some fat free sausage and gravy to go with.

Suzy. what is this game Halo? Is it a video game? You were right to come down on Three for bringing in inappropriate games. Just Googled it, a first person shooter computer game. I am not so fond of any of those, and moreso for young people, even though hubby likes to play them.

June, are Laura's swimming lessons in an outdoor pool? I was imagining indoor, not sure why either. Sounds like it is a long day ahead. Hugs to you and Laura.

Julie, hope you and hubby are enjoying the woodturning symposium. Is it a long drive? How many people are attending? How did your video turn out? eight hundred pens is a LOT, I know some soldiers will be proud owners of such a unique gift.

Heidi, love the all dressed up avatar! Still hot and humid at your house? Have fun at the fair and tell us all about it tomorrow.

Theresa, I am glad to hear you had a cool and rainy day. It gives hope that cool weather will come again to the south. enjoy it for me too, please.

Rolanda, how was the birthday dinner? How is your Mum doing at your house? Check in when you can friend.

Hugs and extras, my coffee is ready and I could use it today. Later.

It's not as hot and humid as it was because it's cooling off at night. The daytime temps are still in the 90's, but it gets down into the 60's at night now. Quite a relief.

That is a coincidence Nola! I hope there are no problems with the on-line class this morning.

I've had trouble voting this morning. My connection is at an all time slow... Oh well, if things go as usual, tomorrow I will be able to vote 6 times using the girls' names.

Swimming lessons at a large indoor pool complex. There are about 5 or 6 pools (counting the baby paddlers) and includes a 'wave' pool where on the hour they have 'waves' like at the surf. The kids love it. The whole area is very warm.
We both had a very good sleep last night.
Hope you all have a great day.

Hi all. Glad to hear that all seems to be going well in Sudokuland. Huge {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} to all who need them.
Tomorrow is the first day of school for the students. I am ready, I think. I am back in the grade I like and it is my assistant principal's last year. She is retiring at the end of the year and I am glad to be back with her. I hope we can make this a very special year for her.

Good morning everyone! The sun is shining here - winter is nearly over! :)

June, big hugs to Laura. :)

Hubby is finishing his current (very stressful!)job on Friday, and starts his new job next week, so we're taking the opportunity to whiz up to Qld to visit D1 for a couple of days. We haven't seen her new house, so that will be good. :)

I'm back on the Family Tree trail - turns out I'd added someone I shouldn't have, so back to square one for that family ... strange, I felt really sad to wipe them off my Tree! However, one branch ends up in the same place via a different route, which is nice. But I had to say Farewell! to Arthur and Phillippa ... sob! I was rather fond of them ... plus someone had traced that family back to the Norman Conquest, though I wasn't QUITE convinced - glad I hadn't bothered to pencil them in, or I'd be REALLY upset! (Yeah, I KNOW, I'm weird ... !) ;)

Have a great day everyone! :)
