Heidi, I'm glad you are back. I'd be so angry if my hubby did what IH is always doing to you. Actually it wouldn't happen as I pay ALL the bills. As he said recently, he wouldn't know where to start if I wasn't around to do it for him.
We have nearly all our bills charged directly to our credit card and then I just pay it monthly.

Our power went off last night just before 10, so I had a very early night, nice for a change. Was a bit annoyed that it was still off this morning, and rang the required number and found out it wouldn't be back on till late arvo...not a good day to have no power. What really panicked me though was I hoped the other side of town had power, toady was my hairdressing appt!!! Phew, yes they had power, but then of course we had the hubby concern.
No dramas, power came back on at noon, and hubby is all plugged in!

HI Suzanne from Utah, been a while since I saw your smiling face. Good to see you again.
Rolanda, good to see you about, how is the leg? Still keeping off it, elevating it and taking panadol?
What has Gil done now? It seems from what I read he did not pay something, probably utilities, again?
Sorry I have not read but this page, I had a busy day, some errands and pick up a few provisions, and by myself, Hubby did not want to assist. Very tired when I got home, so I had a quick nap fore making us burgers and fries for dinner. Hopefully I can get back and catch up tomorrow.
Eyes are closing so I shall also close for now, see yo tomorrow. Hugs and extras for everyone.

OH Gail, you dropped in while i was typing. that would be a problem if power were off long, and your hubby could not get his treatment. Do you have a plan B? Perhaps you need a generator that would run a couple lights and all the necessary machinery for hubby? I am glad it was back on for today.

You're right MizT, a genny is definitely on the list! Our current system is that he can skip a day and go on the next, or if worst comes to worst, we contact the unit and get him in there when they have a spare 'seat'.

Rolanda, I did something similar last night. I raced home and put the salad items I'd bought into the fridge. I then went out for my walk. Much later I went to make the salad and when I opened the crisper my car/house keys were "looking" at me.
Can you imagine the fuss there would have been this morning if I hadn't found them last night.
"Where are my keys? Who took my keys?" followed by much ranting and raving.

Oh, dear, another late night! Hi, Sudokuaholic Friends! I hope you are all well!
Hi, Heidi, Suzy, Gail, Broni, Rolanda, Tami, MizTricia, Theresa, CynB (those who posted on page 379 - I need to get caught up!)
Heidi, I hope your blisters are healing! Have you determined the cause of the big bruise? I hope you will soon be able to walk more comfortably.
Too bad about the lovebirds, Heidi, but hopefully at least one pair of budgies will be successful!
Broni, I don't know if anyone answered your grammar question. You are correct! If you have one singular boss and his SIL brought in the home-grown roses, you are correct. You can use an apostrophe followed by s to indicate the possessive of a singular noun. Some grammarians would also allow the apostrophe by itself since the noun ends in s; others say either way is correct.
Rolanda, I hope the results you get on Oct. 18 from the cut and stitch are what you hope to see. In the meantime, remember: Stay off your leg, elevate it and take some panadol!
MizT, thank you for finishing your joke! It was worth waiting for.
I apologize for being at least a day behind on posts. I will try to get caught up tomorrow! In the meantime, please know that I am thinking of all of you, whether you are having a good day or a bad day, rain or sun, crabby teenagers or difficult aging parents! Sending love and {{{{HUGS}}}} your way!
And now, I'm going to head off to bed. See you all tomorrow! Good Night!

Hi everyone, I'm still coughing, sorry that should say breathing, but hopefully it will get better soon.
Heidi, the people at the phone/internet provider must all know you personally from the number of times you have to go in there to pay. Surely IH should have a separate line for his business then there wouldn't be a problem of you seeing his usage, and if it got cut off then that would be his problem.
Rolanda hope the leg is ok, try not to do too much.

I'm off to Alexandra Palace tomorrow for a Knitting and Stitching craft show. Lesley, the friend who nearly died last year, asked me ages ago if I would like to go with her. I hope this cough gets a bit better quickly, especially as we are going to Wembley Arena on Saturday night to see Dr. Who Live.

Morning all. Hope it is a great day for everyone.
Suzanne. Card will be in the mail today. Birthdays on here are Australian time. Australia is appx 12 hours ahead of me, 14 hours ahead for you. Not sure about the time zones or daylight savings time down under that is why I said appx.
Rolanda's baby brother. Rolanda, hope your mom mentioned to her GP about the fainting.
Brenda, hope that cough gets better. I hope you are feeling better. Coughs can sometimes linger long after the rest of the symptoms are gone.
Don't remember much also. About to put up the morning pot of coffee. Anyone want to join me? Yes, I can make Irish Coffee also. There was a request yesterday morning but I forgot from who.

Well, the continuing saga... just after posting to MizT, I went to school to pick up Hannah. Hubby is alright for that time, I leave him with an emergency kit in case he has to come off while I am out, and all was well. Was not long home and sure enough, the power went out again! We normally wait about 5 mins just in case it is a random short outage, but it was longer, so we had to call it and make the decision to come off. He was at the stage of first needle out and the 10 mins of applying pressure when...POWER BACK ON!!!
...he is going out to buy the generator tomorrow...

Gail, it must have been very worrying and very annoying for the power outage to coincide with Hubby's treatment. Don't they give you warnings that it is going to be out? If it was storm related then there is an excuse. Is there anywhere you can register that you need notice for outages because of medical concerns?.
Generator is the best bet though, then you know that he will be ok if power goes without warning.

Hi all.
Happy Birthday Suzanne. Lovely to hear from you.
Interesting article Cyn,I always use plastic wrap in the microwave. I wonder if Tupperware is safe?
Hope you get better soon Brenda. Enjoy the craft show.
Rolanda,I hope the Dr can do something with Mum fainting often.Bit of a worry there.Glad the leg is a bit better.
Gail, another concern that you don't need. You will probably get the genny then the power won't go out for months but at least you will have it.
Heidi, how is the foot?Good luck with the baby budgies.

The feet are doing much better. They're just a little uncomfortable, only. But I'm having a bursitis flare-up in my right hip ( probably due to walking strangely on the sore feet ) and it's killing me today. If it's as bad tomorrow, I'll go to the Urgent Care Clinic or ER. That'll be for an injection into the joint. I hate those, but they work.

Heidi - ouch. Are you talking about a cortisone injection? Hope you're soon feeling better.
Suzanne - hope your birthday was terrific. Isn't it nice to catch up with school chums?
Gail - we're at the mercy of the power companies. Hope you manage to find a suitable generator.
It's soon time for me to pick up the grandies at the bus stop. The oldest one was upset last night, so I stayed with her until she was asleep. I almost fell asleep in her bed before she did! They both are having a hard time with mom lying down on the couch almost 24/7.

Greetings friends. What a difference a few hours make. I woke this morning about 9 am, and the house was COLD, somewhere in the high 50's inside and even colder outside. Now, at 2 pm, it is up to 80, inside and out! I think this was the last of the unseasonably cool nights. City just south of us set a record low temp for last night!
I also read the Chilean miners might be out by this weekend! Now I wonder what will happen with the miner whose mistress and wife both stood watch?
Theresa, I know all about falling asleep in a child's bed, fore they do. Has happened to me more than once. Glad you made it home to your own bed though.
Nola, nice you get a week longer before your exam/ I know you will do well, but the extra time is all the better.
Heidi, good luck with your hip, hope you get the injection and it is much better soonest.
I also saw C stuff yesterday in one shop, right adjacent to the Halloween stuff. Once the C stuff did not come out till after thanksgiving, then it was right after Halloween, now, they do not even wait till after Labor Day! I am not ready to think about it yet. I still have AC on today!!
GAIL, I cannot believe your power went off again. Good call on hubby going to buy a generator. Hope the purchase and installation go well.
TAMI, of course you know your figuring of hours ahead only work till we go off daylight savings time, first weekend in November if I remember right. This few weeks between changes i do not even try to keep up, bad enough to have to change twice a year, no way 4 times!!
Brenda, I do hope your cough improves soonest. Do let us know about your and friend's outting, sounds like it could be lots of fun.
OK, enough for today, I will catch you again this evening I hope.
Hugs and extras.

Morning all,
Tami, I was the one who wanted Irish Coffee because it was too late for the real stuff - but I missed out because I wasn't here. [frown]
Brenda, are you still knitting or are you waiting for the colder weather to kick in? I'd love to see the Wembley Arena to see Dr Who, but I'd just love to go to see the Arena itself! That is one of those places that you hear of no matter where you live.
Gail, I bet there was a lot of real swearing (not the SA kind) going on at your place yesterday! Swearing right along with you...
Theresa, hugs to your grandie. When they are young time is meaningless so telling her when it should start to get better wouldn't help. That's how I've always coped with stuff - by January, 3 weeks, 6 weeks bla bla. I've changed my mind, I'm not sending her hugs, I'll send her HUGS instead!!!

MizT, I have to go to read the news now to find out more about the miners! I have been reading that they have been making fantastic progress but weren't willing to give an alternate date as they didn't want to raise the miners' hopes when it may not happen. So much work, so many people from so many countries.... It is wonderful to see.
Which made me flash on all of the other people with less glamorous problems who also have a lot of people helping, we just aren't hearing as much about it anymore....
30 degrees is a big jump for one day! I hope today is more moderate...
Nola, you don't need the reprieve because you are going to do great! But I'm glad you've got it anyway. Sending vibes your way....
Heidi, the tax man might have something to say about some of the calls you said Gil makes if he made them from the business line too.
Vicki, I laughed about your keys in the crisper. This morning would have been a disaster if you hadn't found them last night - there is NO WAY you would have checked there!!
