Look what my horoscope says:
Just a week to the day since Uranus, planet of surprise and synchronicity turned direct in your work sector, finally releasing the handbrake the Moon is here, sharpening your instincts. This is the Moon's first visit to your work sector since Uranus and Jupiter turned direct and his main job before he leaves tomorrow is to get things moving, knowing that there's a lot to be accomplished in just a few short weeks. You have no option but to trust your instincts.

My back is killing me, so I'm going to bed very early. The methadone should kick in soon, but it still needs some rest.

Theresa - I'm at a loss to understand why there is a 6 month gap between short-term disability payments and long-term disability. This is certainly a case where your elected representative should do the job he was elected for and fight your daughter's case.

Happy Birthday to Mitchell!!!
Cyn, it's two different government departments that handle the short-term and the long-term. The short-term was paid under Employment Insurance (a total of 15 weeks only), and the long-term is under the Canada Pension Plan. I don't understand it and it's very frustrating.
I think I too will be going to bed soon. My back is aching from all the dampness today. It's still pouring rain. The township came by to clean out the storm drains as they were having trouble keeping up.

Afternoon all,
I've just been for a wonderful lunch with wonderful friends. They gave me a facial with manicure, pedicure and massage for my birthday!!!
One of them told me that the first thing that her daughter said when she got home from Carol's last night was what a fantastic voice Ally has, and I thought her voice was a bit off last night... just goes to show.

Suzy, It sounds like your birthday is going really well. I'm pleased to see you are getting really spoilt. You certainly deserve it. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Belated congratulations to Ally on the positive response from the record company rep. One of these days we'll all be able to say that we "knew" her before she was discovered.

Hi, Everyone! This is going to be quick tonight, as it's already nearly midnight and I have a LOT of ffuts to do before I can go to bed.
Hi, Theresa, Suzy, Gail, Heidi, MizTricia, Brenda, June, CynB, Broni and Tami!
Theresa, it's too bad none of us was around when you were here (near the top of page 466)!
Suzy, I'm glad the Carols went well! How is Alie's throat? Woo Hoo! Happy Birthday, Suzy! I hope you are having a wonderful day! Just relax and enjoy! Happy Birthday!
Here is a cake
and a flower
for your special day!
Gail, good for Hannah - learning how to help Dad get on and off treatment. It must be very reassuring for you, your hubby and Hannah to know that someone else is able to help! Enjoy your time away! Thanks for reminding us about Mikayla! You said it so well!
Heidi, I hope there's a good turn-out for the Christmas party in spite of the poor weather! You're right - better to have too much food than not enough! I'm sure you haven't forgotten anything, and the food will be delicious!
Heidi and MizT, thank you so much for the meteorological explanations! Sometimes it's easy to throw out a word without really thinking of its meaning!
June, your puddings sound yummy! I didn't realize they took so long to cook/boil, especially your big one for Christmas Day!
Suzy, enjoy the outing with friends! It's not something you can do every day. The things that need to get done will get done eventually.
Heidi, I'm so glad the banquet went well! We were all confident that the food you made would be delicious! Thank goodness you got home safely!
Theresa, how awful that your D will need to wait so long for long-term disability to kick in! It's also a shame that you and your hubby won't be able to retire when you had hoped. As Gail has said, it is what it is. You and your family will all do what needs to be done for things to work out. That doesn't make it any easier, but we have seen how you pull together. Sending {{{{HUGS}}}} and positive thoughts for all of you. Keeping fingers crossed for you to be able to find full-time employment that pays well and is at least somewhat enjoyable! Good luck to you and your family! (Tami and Suzy are right!)
June, I hope you enjoyed lunch out with your MIL!
I have forgotten other comments I had intended to make! I thought of all of you as I read! Here are some positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and
for all of you to share! I hope to see all of you tomorrow!

Although I like the term - 'it is what it is'. Unfortunately most of the time what it is, is unfair, or awful or heartbreaking.
My Christmas for all we SAers is that we would all have a Good News Week - together!! Wouldn't that be great?

As it is now officially December 13 up here, i am now the mother of a 14 year old. He wanted to go to Hooter's for his birthday dinner so we went last night. It is a wing place that is also famous for the waitresses. There are better wing places near me but, he made the choice.

Heidi, there was recently a TV program about 'Hooter' The CEO went undercover at various locations and did the menial/starter jobs to learn what was going on in the chain. One of the managers was really nasty and sexist. When there was a chance for a waitress to go home early instead of him choosing who it was to be he made them eat baked beans off a flat plate without using their hands. Needless to say he didn't stay in his job very much longer.

Good Morning Sudokuland! Sunshine today, bright beautiful sunshine, how I love it. It is a balmy 20 F ( -6.666C) with a wind chill of 9 F (-12.777 C), but the sun is shining!! We stayed toasty warm even with the wind and cold. Just in case, when a friend dropped in to visit AL yesterday, I got him to bring in our kerosene heater. There was enough wind some people were loosing power as trees or limbs took out power lines. Do not need to be without heat in this kind of cold!
Made 2 pumpkin pies yesterday, Al and i enjoyed a slice last night, Good recipe. Somehow sweets seem to temp his appetite when other foods do not. At the moment, I get him anything he will eat.
Gail, thanks for letting us know about Mikayla. I will keep her family and friends in thoughts and prayers.
Happy Birthday Mitchell!! Was he disappointed in Hooters? Or did it live up to his expectations?
Brenda, we saw that TV program about the Hooters Undercover Boss. I was so angry at what he did to those young women and I really thought the CEO should have broke his cover and fired him on the spot!! I was further angry that on the program, they did not fire him, but sent him to " classes" to learn how to treat women. Nope, should have been fired!
Heidi, what terrible weather for your drive home. We only saw flurries. Daughter from California was happy to see that little bit of snow, been many years, before they relocated to CA, since she has seen any. We were watching football from Chicago, and I do not know how they played in that blizzard. Snow blowing sideways, really windy. Players out there with short sleeved jerseys, boy, where is your WINTER uniform?? Even here, forecasters were warning of frostbite (from the combination of cold and wind) to exposed skin, and insisting anyone going out have hats and gloves in addition to layers under the coat.
Cat wanted out, but for some reason, hised at me as she led me to the door. Anyone ever hiss back at their cat? It really messes with their little kitty brain hehehe.
I need to get motivated, have had a bad case of the dropsies. Every time I see a chair, I drops right into it and vegetate. There is ffuts to do here. Kind of hard to get much done when hubby is asleep in his recliner all day. I am being a good wife and doing only quite things. That's my story . . .
Hugs to all with extras.

I had a good email this morning! It was from my friend's daughter who ran away. I'd sent her a message of caring and support, and she thanked me for being the only person who has been supportive of her, instead of lecturing her. I discussed the situation with Gil, and he agreed with me on this, so I emailed her back with an offer to come stay with us. I really hope she accepts.
