Thinking of MizT and Al. I was reading the following on the news:

Alabama Gov. Bob Riley said workers had readied snow and salt trucks to help clear icy roads, and he asked all residents to stay home through Monday unless it is imperative to travel.

Birmingham roads were ice-covered and treacherous, weather service meteorologist Mark Rose said. Some areas were reporting at least a tenth of an inch of ice in the central Alabama city, he said. Quite a few roads were closed, and conditions were expected to deteriorate overnight.

Hello, Theresa. I have power. I just slept late. I need to head off to the feed store soon. They're calling for snow for the next 3 days here.

I woke up with good news. My head doesn't hurt unless I touch it! And the swelling is barely perceptible! It's taken 12 days, but I feel a LOT better.

Yes Brenda, happy birthday to your non-teenager.

Heidi, glad you're feeling better, or at least your head (unless you touch it). Are you expecting a lot of snow?

I have the oldest grandie here for a few hours so her mom and dad (who are both sick) can get some sleep. So I am missing my nap today.

The predictions I saw called for a "bit" of snow, or "snow showers". So I did some digging for a more measurable prediction. They're expecting 1 to 3 inches. That's not much, but they're including icy roads.

It's the icy roads that are the problem, especially if they're lightly covered in snow. That way you can't see the black ice underneath.

The radar shows that I still have a few hours before the snow/freezing rain comes. I'll probably go to the feed store in an hour.

Good morning. Brenda, birthday wishes for your daughter. Theresa, please do not get sick again. Hope the rest of the family soon get rid of their bug.
MizT, hope things are OK with you. I understand the frustration if the weather is interrupting Al's treatment.
Regular Tuesday bowls starts again fr this year. I think the day will be humid so I will wear my shorts!( a very strict dress code to play lawn bowls, you can wear shorts but they must come to your knees)

Hi All.
June..I have said a prayer for your friend that her health will return cancer free.

To all those down Brisbane way (Cyn,Broni & Vicki)stay safe from the floods both home and when traveling.I don't think there has ever been such a vast area of Australia that has been affected.
The sun is just starting to show here which is a lovely sight as we have hardly seen it for weeks.

I hope all affected by the snow also travel safely and stay warm.

Morning all,
I woke to a terrible news story this morning. What has been described as an 'inland tsunami' has hit Toowoomba with at least 4 lives lost and other people missing. Thoughts to Toowoomba! It sure puts my problems into perspective...

Theresa, I hope your SIL and daughter feel better quickly and that it doesn't spread to anyone else!!!

June, thinking of your friend and I also hope you are right.

MizT, i hope Al's side effects are not as bad this time, but that the results are even better

Suzy, I watched the videos posted on the other site. It's just unbelievable! It is with great sadness and tears in my eyes that I watched this horrific video. PLEASE TAKE CARE TO ALL THOSE IN THE AREA. Wish there was something I could do, I feel so helpless.

Mother Nature is mad over what's been done to her planet, and she's showing her fury, all right.

Back from the feed store with vittles for all the critters. They'll get through all the upcoming snow and ice without any problems now. The cats in particular are delighted. They're having a feeding frenzy right now.

Hi, Everyone! I made it here by 4:00 today! (I only have a bit of time because I'm waiting for a phone call to be returned.) I hope everyone is having a great day and hope those who have been under the weather are improving!

Hi, Broni, Gail, Heidi, Suzy, Brenda, Theresa, Tami and eaa!

Broni, I'm enjoying your mental image of a herd of playful cows! Did you and Possum enjoy Tangled? I have heard mostly good reviews and that kids and adults like it.

Gail, have you been able to squeeze a nap into your day? First getting up so early to retrieve the travelers from the airport, then all the excitement of gifts, etc. I also had no idea what Cocktail Sobranies were. Imagine how unenlightened we would all be without each other and Mr. Google!

Heidi, enjoy your quieter days - hopefully until Wednesday night, for your sake!

Seems like it should be time for the flooding to stop! I hope all of our Sudoku friends are on high ground! I hope Grasshopper gets home safely!

Congratulations, Brenda! Happy Birthday to Brenda's youngest! Will there be a cake? Happy Birthday!

Theresa, I hope your D and SonIL are soon feeling better! With luck, you and your grandies and his mom won't get to share the experience! I'm so glad you get to share duties with his mom and don't need to help out 24/7! Wash your hands lots and have everyone cough and sneeze into their elbows! I'm hoping this one passes you by! How is your grandie and her itchies? Did the younger sister like her new doll blanket?

Tami, good for you and Harley! Sounds like he's getting to sleep better and waiting for you to get up to go out for his walk! I think he's a smart dog!

I've missed eaa again, I see - must have posted before going to bed.

I hope to get back later and read page 500 later. Imagine that, we've made it to page 500!

Hi Julie - how are you?

Grandie loved the blanket. She got a new "baby" from her parents, complete with crib, highchair and bath, so now the baby has a new blanket.

I hope not to get sick, but spending so much time with them, I'll be very lucky to avoid it. So far so good! I've got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed (although it's kind of hard to type with my eyes crossed).

The itchies have disappeared for the oldest grandie. She still has to have her blood tested to see if her epilepsy meds need to be adjusted.

My two grandies saw Tangled and now they want Rapunzel dolls, T-shirts, jewellery ... I think you get the picture.

Time to fling food - I am kind of tired today after looking after the oldest grandie for almost three hours this afternoon. She was actually very cuddly. At age 7, there won't be that many years where she'll be like that, so I enjoy it. I think it's going to be a beans and weiners night because I just don't feel like cooking. Hubby actually likes it. Like I said before, he's easy to please when it comes to meals. Hope to catch you all later.
