D*MN, it's cold outside!!!
I've been out watering livestock. It's 24℉, but feels a LOT colder, especially with the wind blowing thru' the clothes.

IH said that he was going to the plant mid afternoon today, so I didn't plan on anything for supper for him. It's 8:30 pm, and he's still here. Wanna bet he asks me what's for supper in a few minutes?

Heidi, I wouldn't bet against you because I would probably lose.
Tami, I have a metric conversion site bookmarked as well. It gets used quite a lot!
The temp here with the wind chill is -19C. It was so cold coming out of the restaurant. Brrr.

You should have taken the bet, Theresa. He walked in just now and said that I didn't have to worry about making something for him to eat. He'd grab some leftovers from the fridge on his way out. Of course, he's still dawdling, it's 9 pm, he has a 2 hour drive ahead of him and it's starting to snow again.

Hi, Everyone! I'm back after a 4-hour break for a meal and working on club membership information.
Hi, June, Theresa, Suzy, Gail, Tami, MizTricia, Heidi, Nola, Vicki and Broni!
June, thanks for getting us started with a great TOPP!
Theresa, thanks for reminding us about working on a box of stored stuff. If it happens this week here, it will definitely be after Tuesday night! How is your grandie doing? I hope the itchies have gone away!
I didn't intend for anyone to think that a strip club might open in your neighborhood, but it pays to know about zoning and what is allowed. There had been a "European Dance Club" (I think that's what it was called) less than 5 miles from us, but in an unincorporated area. It was finally closed and now is the home of a company that buys gold.
Suzy, good for you for getting 3 bags of clothes rewashed and donated! I agree with Theresa, that probably counts for 6 boxes!
Gail, you're also making progress moving boxes from the ex-junkroom to the dining room table and away from there to the next staging area where you will go through the boxes one-by-one. You are ready to open those boxes and start purging!
Tami, good for you and Harley! An early-morning walk can be motivating for both of you! Did he awaken you for a specific reason, other than being lonely or bored?
Theresa, it sounds like you are facing an insurmountable task. Of course, I totally understand the process you're facing! Instead of trying to go through a box, maybe you should choose a shelf in a room - such as a shelf or cupboard where you store all of the products you need for doing laundry, or the shelf in the pantry with canned soups and/or vegetables. It doesn't really have to be a box. After all, we're giving Suzy credit for multiple boxes with her bags of clothes!
MizT, I hope the snow stays away and doesn't impact you and Al and your drive to treatments! I hope the machine is all ready to go! It's wise not to attempt the drive tomorrow, based on the weather prediction! Keeping fingers crossed that you are able to keep power and warmth without using the back-up heater and generator!
June, good for you and Mr. June. You're well on your way with the boxes you've sorted and starting to find new homes for some of the objects!
Heidi, what would have prompted the cows to behave that way? Were they spooked by something? Does the weather bother them? Were they just plain hungry? What a lot of work you must have had to do to return them all! Is there a "leader" that had them all moved near the gate? Seems very strange!
Nola, I'm glad you're no longer getting heavy rain! After a busy week at work, I'm sure you would prefer to prop up your feet and get some rest, rather than attack the mould. Of course, you need to get to work on it before it starts spreading! Good luck!
Vicki, it sounds like you could also use some relief from the rain. I hope you do not live in a low area! Of course, work will provi

Here's the rest:
Vicki, it sounds like you could also use some relief from the rain. I hope you do not live in a low area! Of course, work will provide you other things to concentrate on, so hopefully will not be boring. I hope you have some good books to read and are fully caught up on your sleep! Have a good day at work!
Oh, dear, Broni was also banned? What is this world coming to? Do you live in a low area? Hoping the rain will slow or stop for you as well - can't imagine living on the boat due to a flood. (Of course, Noah could.)
Suzy, thanks for letting me know what "gernied" means. I used 4 different search engines, checked dictionary.com and even went to a site that explains Australian slang. Your explanation makes perfect sense! Thank you!
Suzy, I hope the tailless lizard found his way to safety! After I post these comments, I'm going to check the link you have about snakes. But I REALLY don't care for snakes!
Theresa, I'm glad your grandie's birthday dinner went well! Too bad she chose Tex-Mex. I hope you have something to take to deal with the heartburn and acid reflux! Is there something you can take BEFORE eating troublesome foods to avoid some of the problems? I'll be thinking of you tonight!
Tami, I agree that metric and its base 10 is easier to understand the relationships. The hard part is trying to convert. If we could have done the change-over without ever worrying about converting, I think it would have worked. We would have just adjusted to km, meter, cm, mm, liter and so on.

Julie... the cows did it because they felt playful. They had their tails up in the air and they were bouncing and running around in circles.

Heidi, I hope you wear MANY layers when you need to go outside to water the livestock! Plus, you must have done it in the dark. I really dislike being outside in the raw cold at night. We delivered newspapers as kids. The worst time of the year was winter with the cold damp wind blowing and having to climb the hills in our town to deliver them in the dark. NOT my idea of fun!
It's 2 hours since Heidi's last post. Heidi, I hope you didn't need to fix a meal - and hope that he left before 2 hours of snow accumulated!
I'm dragging here - too many early mornings, I think. I need to get back to membership records for the wood club before I can call it a night. Thinking of all of you and hoping for a wonderful ending to this day and a great day tomorrow! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and
Take care!

Is it true for all cows - or just cows at Surreal Farm. And does the term "contented" cow refer to a cow that is playful? Inquiring minds want to know.

Howdy all. Been up since sparrows f*rt to go out to the airport to pick up Chloe and her boyfriend (no announcement!) They had been up since 9am the previous morning, so it was a fairly quiet drive home. Dropped him off at his place, brought her home and she has been in her sister Beth's room ever since. Apparently Beth got bored because she shook Chloe awake saying she'd let her sleep for two hours, now she wants to talk!!! They are out the front having a smoke
, Chloe brought back some Cocktail Sobranies, they were both blown away when I said what they are...I am old, how can I know something cool like that!!!

She just came in bearing gifts...we both got silk happy coats, perfect at the moment because all we have are heavyweight dressing gowns, so these are nice and light for Summer. We also got a tissue box cover, all bamboo and embroidery, a cushion cover with a sequin elephant in the centre (to satisfy two of my weird collections, cushions and elephants!), and an exquisite gold and black shoulder bag. I have been spoiled rotten.

Morning all.
Suzy, just call it a "dirty bird".
My daughter phoned me last night to say she is now sick! Her hubby is still quite sick and won't be going to work. His mom spent the night last night and will get the girls off to school and then I will take over. I must remember to bring a coffee over to his mom - my daughter and her hubby don't drink coffee but I know his mom likes it. I believe she is coming back later today to help again. I would imagine I will also come down with this thing they have - it is entirely different from the one I'm just getting over.
Will catch up on the reading in a bit. Have a good day/night everyone!

Theresa, good thoughts going out to daughter and hubby that they get better soon and that you are able to avoid it.
Heidi, enjoy the peace and quiet.
Brenda,
to your daughter. I enjoyed our chat on Skype yesterday.
eaa, I will check out your pictures in a few minutes.
Suzy, I was going to comment about the cigarettes and the dirty bird but you beat me too it. I wonder how they decide what to band.
Julie, thanks for the summary. I always enjoy reading your post knowing that I will catch up on what I have missed.
Hi also to Broni, Gail and June and anyone else I have missed.

I forgot. Harley went to sleep with very little whining and slept through the night. He did not start whining until he heard me walking around upstairs. I came down quickly and took him for a walk. By the time I got back, Mitchell was downstairs and I went up and showered.
