I have just "friended" my Aussie "cousin" on FB. I saw her picture and it may be wishful thinking but I think I see a family resemblance. I have a picture with 4 of my cousins and we don't look alike, but you can see we are family.

It's right around the freezing mark here, with a slight drizzle. I'm SO glad that I moved the cows to the front pasture. They have lots of shelter from the elements there.

Good Maen everyone! Read the 3 pages I missed since yesterday. Can't remember much!
Hugs to my Aussie friends during the recent floods & mess with the insurance companies.
Glad to hear that those who are ill are mending.
Darrell is back on day shift. He is allowed to keep the Lieutenant's position (for now). We have the people from the virtual tour company coming tomorrow to take photos of the house. It's funny, I know what's involved in all this, should be relaxed (this is our 2nd house that we are selling) but I'm not!!! My parents want me to come to Florida in April. Will have to see if it's affordable, we paid for their trip here last June. Maybe after we get our taxes done...
That's all for now, TTFN!

Good afternoon all. Just working on finding work. That's almost a full-time job in itself.

Good luck with the job hunting Theresa.
The family have returned to Melbourne. All quiet here. I am feeling a bit better but quite washed out. Hard to rest with a house full of children.
Last Wednesday morning my side felt very tender. I drove Sharon to see Laura (who was with Belinda) and we all had lunch together, the drove home. (an hour each way). I came home and had a sleep but woke up with a temperature. Got ken to take me to hospital as I knew something was wrong. Diagnosed as diverticulitis. Put on saline drip, antibiotics and no food. I should have been there till Sunday but found a Relief Surgeon doing the rounds who signed my release papers so that I could get home in time for my celebration BBQ. My son and grandsons were also able to get through the falling flood waters to arrive before I cut the cake so what started out as a difficult morning ended in a lovely evening. I think I will always remember my '70' birthday.

Nice to be back with my SA friends but I am finding it hard to concentrate. Still not eating very much so I hope that means I will lose some weight!

Morning all,
June, there are easier ways to lose weight. And that was a sneaky way to get home for your party. Diverticulitis is apparently very painful and I really hope you are feeling better soon. Hugs

Theresa, finding work is a full time job and can be very discouraging. I recommend spending time on a copy of your resume, adding all of your accomplishments, whether you would normally put them in a resume of not - it will remind you that you are a special person and it's their loss if they don't notice you. Hugs

MizT, my mother used to nurse like Joy - she was popular with the patients, but not the senior nurses. I suspect she spoke to them like that too. Equal opportunity blunt...

Pretty boy sounds very cute. Do the girls go out to play when he calls? Hubby bought a kitty door for us that we can lock at night so visitor cats can't come in - I asked him what cats were going to get by our dogs to get to that door - it's never locked now.

I'm trying to upload a map on my slow connection. The floods in Victoria have moved along to about 100km away from Mum. A long way, unless Quambatook happens to be on the same river, then it's spitting distance.

June, my mom has diverticulosis, which can turn into diverticulitis. You need to watch what you eat. She can not eat anything with seeds or nuts. The seeds/nuts can get caught in the intestine and cause a flair up. Glad you are feeling better.

Eaa...very WONDERful!

June, owwwwwie :( So glad your birthday ended up becoming a great celebration.

We were going to go to the aquarium today, but hubby did not sleep much last night, so we may take Hannah to the pictures later, and do the aquarium tomorrow. They currently have a baby hammerheads display!

Next Sunday, hubby and I are having a quick visit over to Adelaide. There I will be meeting up with GmaJackie, from USA, Grasshopper from Qld, and possibly a couple of our Adelaide members. We will also be having lunch with Bill and his friend, Val. We will also catch up with our dear friends, the hubby of one couple has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, unfortunately it is advancing rapidly. He and hubby have been mates for many years and I think it is going to hit hubby a lot to see his younger friend in such a state.

My sister sent me a few words of wisdom and they made me think of eaa's words of inspiration:

Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don’t worry, they can't last long either.

Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!

WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today’s PEACE.

eaa, from laughter to so true! You covered the spread.

Gail, enjoy the aquarium and/or pictures AND the trip to Adelaide! You have some fun planned and I'm not jealous, just happy for you.

Theresa, you hit the so true button!

I went back a page to comment on what I'd missed but lost the post, so you'll just have to know that I thought of you..

Hubby has been in a grumpy mood since after supper last night. I was so glad to see him go to work today! Thought he might be better when he got home, but no such luck. I've asked a few times what's wrong, but he says nothing. Now I'm getting grumpy!!!!!!

eaa: I LOVE the words of wisdom (yours too, Theresa)
Had photos taken for virtual tour of the house. They were supposed to be here at 2, then my agent called, said the photographer got stuck in a meeting. I was annoyed, but the guy who came was SO nice & apologetic I wasn't upset for long. Photos will be on the internet tomorrow. So, it seems like we're getting there!! I changed my avatar today in honor of MLK day. He was a truly inspiring human being who was taken from us WAY too soon!

Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

From the song "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield.

You're right Gail, but being me I automatically assume I must have done something to p!ss him off!

I have cleaned up about the equivalent of a box today, but it's just snippets from here, there and everywhere. I'm trying to organize my crafts. I have boxes of wool, boxes of material, etc.

I have not even attempted to clean out boxes. When my friend moves back here from Georgia, I will get her to help me. She is really organized and makes me get rid of stuff. She loves to help me clean out my closet. She gets hand-me-downs. I am taller so she hems things if needed.

Harley likes ice cubes. We put a few ice cubes in his water. He took them out one at a time and played with them before chewing them up. We also took him to a doggie park yesterday. He had a great time running and wrestling with the other dogs. I have pictures and a video. I will try to put them on may page soon.

Tami, my daughter's dog Dakota (black lab) likes ice cubes. I had her here with me for the first six months. I didn't want her to gain extra weight with treats, so she considered ice cubes treats!

I am washing Splotch's blanket and he's giving me the look.

Well, I am soon off to bed. Hubby went to bed around 8:30 - he said he was very tired. His office is still in the process of moving and he's being called upon to help in the move. So he's putting in long days and I think it's getting to him.

Nearly all my dogs like ice cubes. Even in winter. I put out a bowl of them almost daily in the summer for the dogs to munch on. They really like to bob for ice cubes when I add them to their water bowl.

OH Teresa, you sound like me! for years I thought I was cause of his every moode, and worse, that I could fix them. His being so quite was so bad for me. Then I learned I was not responsible, I could not change his behavior, but I could change my reaction to it. MUCH better now. Maybe something like that could help you deal with your hubby. Repeat after me, it is not my fault, it is not my fault.

really tired today, something is not right. I had to go to food bank, Joy drove me, but I di not ask her to let me out at door. After the longer walk, I was shaking all over. stumbly. Had to wait longer than usual. by time I got home, I was in tears, got my own lunch, cause Joy was off with AL to deliver him to his appointment. I sat in my chair, ate a few bites, and then woke from a long sound sleep almost aspirating the food in my mouth. I actually fell asleep chewing, did one of those involuntary gasps I do, scared me scensless. Another " be careful what you ask for, just night before, I casually commented, I wish I could fall asleep as fast as Screech, She can fall asleep while walking! So, listen us, universe, we erasing that request please

Heidi, Gil should be careful scaring you. You do carry a gun. Man could get himself shot at a time like that.

they messed up on radiation again, he did not start today. I am feeing less and less comfortable about him going into that machine, the problems it has had. Thier trip ws a total waste today.

AL is feeling back in charge today. He drove home from the center, is talking at normal voice, NO pain from cancer, he h not taken pain med in weks. Al got up from his chair, and made desert for his girls, I made the cake last night, but hecut cake and served with icecream. His usual job from before cancer.
