Glad you enjoyed the movie June...I am looking forward to seeing it. I could do with a laugh at the moment. I wish all this melting I am doing could lead to a permanent weight reduction...

I've watched the trailer for that movie, June, and it does look fun. My problem is finding someone to go to the movies with me. I usually wait for them to come out on DVD.

Heidi, my neighbour went with me today but a lot of the time I just go by myself. Our local shopping centre has a movie complex with 16 theatres. (It also has a full size ice skating rink)so quite a few people go alone.

Most of the time I go alone as well. There's a theater about half an hour from me that is really roomy. Frequently, there are only a handful of people scattered throughout the seats. I don't mind being on my own there. The others are, too.

Here it is just after 3:30 in the morning and I can't sleep. Heidi, the cat rescue has a website: www.countrycatrescue.com. Take a look if you get a chance. It has been a while since I have been there because my arthritis has been bothering me, but I still do things in the background like sewing beds for the furry ones.
Gail, glad to hear your cat is back!

Hi you topsider night-owls - although you're probably gone by now.
Heidi - I'd happily go to the movies with you! Bit far from Qld to Kentucky, though. I often go alone - if there's something I want to see and can't find anyone to go with. Our cinemas are only 10 mins drive, only costs $5.50 (seniors card - getting old has to have some advantages!!!) I've seen nearly all the Harry Potter movies alone. I think I'll go to Sherlock Holmes later this week - can't get hubby to commit and it's school hols so my other companions aren't available.

Evening all!
Quick visit tonight as it has been a long day.
June, my Sister in Law has a saying about days like you had today - I miss the old days when everything could be done with one phone call or one trip, now everything is just too complicated.
Theresa, what kind of beds do you make for the furry little ones?
Gail, yay! Glad your kitty is back home.

Suzy, I scour the Salvation Army for flannel sheets and for comforters. I make the comforters into soft beds that fit the ledges along the walls in the sanctuary. I also make soft beds for the carriers so that when a cat has to make a trip to the vet they are warm and comfy. I am currently working on crafts in my spare time and hope to have enough to sell at the annual bake and craft sale on Thanksgiving weekends. I am more of a dog person really, but there are no dog rescues nearby. I don't currently have a dog, but hope to get a rescued one when I retire.

Cyn, I saw it! She's a terror that one! That was taken by the blonde Pride girl, who is doing better physically but worse mentally.
Theresa, snap! I used to sell embroidered cushions etc at the markets. I even sold a couple of my patterns. And I am a dog person with 2 rescued dogs. We call them pound puppies, though they're not puppies anymore.

Hubby is watching American football on his you-beaut thingy that lets you watch TV on your computer. He now wants a terabyte hard drive so he can program it to record the games while he is at work or asleep... He rarely watched football when we were in the States, guess it's a touch of home.

Morning Sudokuland friends!
We are still in the deep freeze here in Alabama. Forecasters said last night would be milder. forecasters lied. another bone chilling 14F (-10C). I have one water pipe that has frozen and thawed the last 3 days and same with my bathtub drain! I do think I need a chat with our plumber and see what we can do to stop that aggravation. HOPE there is no splits and leaks from the freeze/thaw cycle.
I have read, but afraid I cannot post replies to all. Typing in not comfy at the moment. I will keep reading and check in occasionally
Hugs to all and I am thinking about you.

Good Maen SA9Aers!!
Glad to see we didn't scare Theresa off!!! Just got the coffee poured and the indicator light on the pot isn't working?!???? It's only about 1-2 years old. Thought we popped a circuit breaker, but didn't. Darrell worked a 36 hour shift last night, letting him sleep a bit longer. Having lunch with 2 clients this week and my friend/client Janet Wednesday. Chilly here, hoping it will warm up. Our high yesterday 48 degrees F (not sure what that is in celcius)

Morning friends! Off to Reno soon, but wanted to pop in to see if Gail had responded regarding Punchy Boy - HOOOOOOORAHHHHHH! What a bad boy!!!
You tell him I said so, Gail!
June - was so frustrated reading about your car license plate and insurance merry-go-round - what a headache!
Theresa - good on you for helping with those kitties.
Darn it MzT - I told you to send me that cold weather. I'm going over the pass today and the storm that is coming in tonight is probably bringing RAIN instead of SNOW way up there!

Vici.... I'm still in shock, with occasional crying jags. I still haven't accepted what happened to Lucky. I keep expecting the giant puppy to assault me when I step out the door. That was his unsubtle idea of a prank. He didn't realize just how big and strong he was.

Well, tomorrow morning at 7 am, I get to take my "not comfy" wrist and shoulder to the doc. they gonna get X rays and all. I think I have to go up to hospital for X rays.
The triage nurse said this could be caused from my slip on the stairs 2 or more weeks ago. I caught myself , hanging on the handrail, with that hand/arm, and she said little bones in wrist, like little bones in foot, can be injured but not to symptomatic till one day you wake up with a big foot or hand.
Going to take my medicated self back to my recliner. Requesting leave, so I will not be AWOL

I think the worst thing is when they find nothing, so they claim there's nothing wrong when you know that there is.

Morning folks...
Had a shocker of a night in that I haven't slept. Too hot and muggy to sleep and by the time it got to 5am I decided I should stay up and water the garden seeing as it is 'our' day. Hadn't watered the garden yet this year and after the heat over the last couple of days everything was looking limp & rather wan...just like me!
Now for coffee and toast and a wee nap.
Have a good day everyone...

folks.
Yes, it was a stinker last night, hubby and I sat up till late but I simply had to go to bed eventually! We had the fan blowing on us so it wasn't too bad. I am currently taking pain meds and valerian every night, so I actually got some sleep. I first woke at 5ish for a twinkle, then again an hour and a bit later, so I also stayed up to water, being as it's our day.

Good morning everyone! Just trying to catch up with the reading -
Hi Theresa, welcome! :)
Bean, we also got up early for the ritual watering - hope we get some rain soon, things are starting to get crispy! When we went upstairs last night the heat almost made me gasp - thank heavens we have an airconditioner in our bedroom now, or sleep would have been impossible, rather than just difficult!
Gail, hooray! (for the cat)
MizT - love the baseball story! Hope your arm can be fixed quickly ...
Heidi - oh no! Hope you feel better very soon.
Suzanne, my hubby just bought himself a snazzy coffee machine - you get little containers of the coffee mix, put it in, the machine heats everything up and, as they say in the classics, Bob is your uncle! There's no mess, no waste - not for coffee conaisseurs, and it's quite expensive to buy the little containers, but Rob says he pays $5 or 6 for coffee at Maccas, so it should pay for itself in 6 months (that's the theory, anyway! Meanwhile he's having SO much fun trying all the different flavours! :)
I got side-tracked looking something up, found an article on Michael Flatley (he's got fat!), then wandered off to Riverdance clips - still amazing!
