CynB, glad you're feeling better! If you lived closer I'd bring you ... ooh, chicken soup? cheesecake? something delicious and incredibly fattening, and we could eat it together ... you get the general idea.

Cyn, thank you for letting us know you are feeling better, sometimes all you need is to get it off your chest. A burden shared is a burden halved xoxo

June, I hope the horses behave themselves for you. I've been meaning to tell you about this new thing on facebook (at least I think it's relatively new, I didn't notice it before), where with a click on a drop down menu you can have only status updates showing, so you could visit and not get lost in all of the farm posts!

Off to bed in a few. The horse shoer will be here at 9 am. I'll have to get the horses up before that.

Gekko, All, and Happy Valentine's Day to top-siders!

Hi, Gail, CynB, Heidi, Theresa, Tami and Suzy (page 552)!

Gail and Cyn, you are so right about the feelings inspired by this page!

Heidi, yesterday was certainly a productive day for you! That icy patch on your neighbor's driveway must be large and treacherous! I hope you had a great day today! (And tomorrow until IH returns.)

Suzy, I'm just wondering where the mate (must be older than Ebob) had been living that she was evicted from. Evicted suggests that it was a rental of some sort, so she must have had enough money at some point to pay the rental. (It seems that Ebob has a heart as deep as the ocean and wants to save everyone.) How wonderful that a "younger man" got her a necklace and a cup of coffee!

Theresa, I chuckled at the "boots" story! (I was once a kindergarten teacher, so had my share of helping with boots and coats - with 30 students.)

Suzy, thanks for sharing the link to the chocolate room! Yummy - and a clever idea! I'm sure Heidi won't mind having one at Sudoku Chocolate Farm!

Hi Everyone.
Cyn, I'm glad you are feeling better today.

MizT and Al

June, you are a wonderful mother. Nothing is too hard or too much for you to do. I don't know how you have the stamina.

Suzy, you are a fabulous mum too. Have you learnt how to say "NO" and mean it? When you discover how to do it, can you teach me.

Is Broni looking after Possum? Wasn't he due to have his shoulder op about now?

The only problem with a chocolate room here is that chocolate is toxic to dogs. I'll just have to lock them out of that area.

Oh, yeah.... I had to do something unpleasant today. I was checking out all the baby Budgies in the nest boxes, and I discovered that one of the babies had developed a problem with it's legs and breast muscles. It would never be able to walk or perch. So I put it down. That leaves 9 babies in the nests, but only one in that nest. The nestmate is fine and nearly feathered out.

We have the young lady for 2 more nights, she has an appointment at the shelter on Thursday - they did ask if she had somewhere to stay.

And she's younger than Ebob, I was surprised to find out how young today. I hope to find out where her parents are before she leaves.

Reading page 553 (only a couple pages to go!)

Hi, Heidi, Theresa, Suzy, Gail, CynB, Judy, June, Suzanne and Tami!

Suzy, thank you for helping us top-siders understand mate and partner. It's interesting that the person who was evicted knows and is friends with your nephew.

Theresa, your headaches may be from your pillow. They could also be a product of stress and tension. You may be in a less-than-relaxed position as you sleep. Do you have another pillow that you can try to see if a change helps?

Gail, I think your approach to housing your kids' friends (strays and waifs, as Cyn said) is safer, if you can do it. Theresa and Suzy have had a harder time limiting the "guests." Theresa, I'm so glad that at least one of those you helped has been able to turn things around and have a family and a business! As Heidi said, some people need a hand-up, not a hand-out.

I was fortunate and didn't have to deal with it - maybe because my kids are older and times were different. We had a short-term foreign exchange student - just under a month - as someone at the last minute couldn't do it. The experience was less than ideal, and it may have helped convince our kids that it's not all that terrific to have someone who is not a family member living in the house.

Judy, so sorry to hear that the boyfriend of D#3 lost his father. I'm not sure the liquid refreshment will dull the pain, but perhaps it will help. Is his mother still alive? Sending condolences.

Suzy, you had no way of knowing that the parents of the other friend of Ebob's were dead. He more than likely has some other adult presence in his life - whether grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

Suzanne, thinking of your friend George and hoping he called or went to the police. Would it hurt to have police respond to the area and make their presence known?

Suzy, definitely a good omen to get the dry clothes off the clothesline before the rain came! Or just darned good luck!

June, I hope all goes well while you help at Belinda's! How are you feeling after your fall? Be especially careful when walking on wet grass & leaves!

Cyn, I'm glad you're feeling better after sharing! A shared load weighs much less!

We're having another cloudburst - had a few today but nothing bad. It's not widespread. The long-range forecasters are saying another cyclone possibly as early as next week. We'll see and hope it's a little one.

Woo Hoo! Page 554! We're almost there!

Hi, CynB, Judy, Heidi, Gail, eaa, Vicki and Suzy!

Judy, what a great idea to bring over some chicken soup, cheesecake or something gooey, delicious & fattening to share with CynB!

Gail, you said it so much better: "A burden shared is a burden halved!"

It's sounding even better. Forget the chicken soup. We've got Gail's Pavlova, Bean's Bean Salad, Vicki's nibblies & champagne! Sounds like a party at Cyn's to me! I'll be right over! (If only I could!)

Good Night, Heidi! I hope you and the horses all get up on time for the horse shoer tomorrow!

Vicki, I think you're right! I think Possum's surgery was scheduled for Feb. 14. I hope it went well and we soon hear from Broni!

Heidi, sorry about the baby budgie, but you did what you had to do.

Suzy, I hope the next few days with the young girl go well and that she gets into the shelter.

OK, it's nearly 12:30 a.m. and I'm falling asleep at the keyboard. Thinking of everyone, including June's friend and MizT and Al and sending prayers, {{{{HUGS}}}} and positive healing thoughts for everyone!

Good going, SA9A! We've nearly reached 22222 - only 71 more posts to go. We should make it sometime Feb. 16 (down under) and Feb. 15 for those of us further west.

Gekko, my friends.
Waiting very impatiently for the hospital to phone me regarding Possum's surgery today (yes think he told me the 14th originally) I have just phoned and all they can tell me is that he is in surgery, but they told me that last time too then sent him home.
