Good Evening/Night, SA9A!

Hi, Suzy, Gail, Broni, Heidi, June, CynB, Tami the T, MizTricia, Bean, Brenda, V Vici, Rolanda, Suzanne, and anyone I've missed!

Gail, thank you for the fortnight of meal planning! Thank goodness for freezers!

Broni, did you hear from the boat broker? I hope your meet-up with Susan (Qld), Cyn and Vicki went well! Did you get pictures?

June, wishing all the best for your friend! She's obviously a fighter and keeps positive thoughts around her. Sending more positive vibes and prayers in her direction! Hope she had a great birthday!

Suzy, so sorry to hear about your hubby's niece! Her condition certainly doesn't sound good! Does she have a spouse - and a will? Two young children are a big concern! Hopefully she will pull through and realize the need to change! Were her children affected by her drinking during her pregnancies?

Happy 90th Birthday to your MIL, Bean! Sounds like a lovely gathering for everyone! And how exciting to see a program based on a book by your brothers' friend! How neat is that?

Gail, so sorry to hear the fire came near! Good news that the rain found you!

Brenda, sounds like a fun and challenging night out with LOTS of friends!

V Vici, sounds like a yummy dinner with the girls and a beau. And MIKE baked the cake? Yes, he is a WH!

Heidi, 10* F is pretty cold for your area, isn't it? We've been having it off and on the last few days, but we're well north of you! Heidi, your suspicion about IH, especially with the history of his father and brother, is frightening. Does it explain some of his behavior? I hope he can keep it under control! If his brother lives near you, maybe both of them could go to AA?

Rolanda, wish I could send you some of our cold!

CRAFT's and being very tired have set in. Now it's 11:30 and I MUST get to bed. Good Night, Everyone!

oooh Bean, if I ever get around to writing my novel I'll ask for the email address...

I wonder how many people would actually like to write a novel one day? I bet it would be a pretty high % of the population.

Hi Julie...fancy us being in the same place at the same time! Hasn't happened for a while.
I am getting tired of the fortnightly trips to the doctor. I told him that I had started to leave a day between replacing patches so that I am not so dependent on them. I haven't missed a dose with the non restricted analgesia and anti-inflammatory drugs. week]. Inadvertantly reached the stage where the pain was again keeping me awake at night and at rest so I am not sure how much I can string it out between replacing patches.

Hi and bye Julie! I hope you sleep well.

I have never met the grand nephew and niece but I am told they were both affected by the alcohol, the nephew more than the niece. They live in Texas, we lived in CA, and grand nephew was born after we left the US. I don't think there is a spouse either. There was for a while but then he just wasn't mentioned anymore.

Suzy that is dreadful for your niece and nephew. I find it incomprehensible how irresponsible women can be when they are pregnant. They cannot claim they didn't know...the media certainly shouts it far and wide and it is part of the prenatal plan that health professionals follow...and I know that the team I worked with did. I was pregnant when I was working in the ante natal clinic and was amazed at how little some women cared. It was all about self. Thankfully tho the majority were the opposite.

...and now I really am going.... MUCH less than 2 hours now..arghhhhhhhhhh

Suzy... you mentioned that hubby's niece's step-father has offered to take the 2 kids. That appears to me that their biological father has no interest in his kids at all. That could hurt the kids as well. I can understand all the pain they're going thru' with their mother, and on top of that, when it counts, their father doesn't want them either. I hope the rest of the family really pours on the love to those 2 kids.

Heidi, you're assuming anyone knows who the father is. The guy who was in the picture for a while might not be the father of either of them. It's definitely an education into how the other half live.... and explains why we are not close. That aside, I wouldn't wish what they are going through on my worst enemy and am waiting for news.

Hello - back again with a renewed licence for 5 yrs ($76 later), no real worries but the lady at the counter told me that if the police had pulled me over for anything since 16/1, I would have been in deep doo-doo!' I originally passed my driving test in a September and was given a 1 year provisional licence. When that was up, my licence was renewed for 5 and a bit years to coincide with my January birthday, so since then my licence comes due every 5 years on my birthday (as it does for any Queenslander).
I just should have remembered, they sent me a reminder!

Suzy - I, too am so concerned at what those kids are going through and I have fingers crossed for the mother's recovery and recuperation.
Oh Heidi! I wish you were nearby - you understand what those kids are going through and would understand what my grandie Emily is going through too. Life is tough without a mother (physically and/or emotionally) for a little kid.

Hi all, have been home for a couple of hours, and am in the process of cooking dinner. Still haven't read yet, just thought I'd pop in and say hi.
Today went as well as can be expected with a large crowd and a nice send-off. I didn't catch up with Helen and her boys until after the service, but the look on her face made the early start and drive to get there worth it. She couldn't believe that someone had come from the other side of oonawhoopwhoop just for her. I went back to the family home and we had a drink to Max, then on the road again. I will catch up with her when she comes back home, for now, she is going to stay the week up there with her Mum to help her adjust to her new life.

Suzy, prayers for the Texas family.
Gail, pleased the sad trip was rewarding with shared compassion. (I think you understand what I am trying to say)
Cyn, pleased you have your license renewed.
Bean pleased your computer seems to be working OK.
I see eaa is still posting on SA8. Hope she joins us on here again soon.(I cannot keep up with reading one lot of pages at the moment let alone two).
I have been catching up with the ironing tonight so will sort out clothes to take tomorrow. I can hardly believe that in 48 hour we will be in a plane and well on our way.

Just stopping in for a quickie before school.
Suzanne, I have known you long enough to know that whatever you throw at me, I will be able to top. To all who are reading, Suzanne agrees with me that she is not sure if Darrell ever had his marbles, so there.

I thought Darrel made a lovely gesture giving all his marbles to Suzanne so she must have know he did have them at one stage.
Cannot get to sleep. Keep thinking of things I should pack or do.

That's the beauty of packing in advance, June. You're much less likely to forget something important. IH always starts packing as he's running out the door. He constantly forgets stuff he needs.

I will pack later and then I have most of Wednesday for anything I have forgotten. What is forgotten I will then have to buy.
Most important is to keep the weight down!

I ordered some special food for Frosty on eBay. Specifically formulated for Red Eared Sliders. It arrived this morning and I fed some to her. I have never seen a baby turtle eat so fast. She LOVES it!

Morning all,
Gail, your long trip was worth every second/km. Hugs to you and Helen.

June, only 48 hours!! I hope you are able to grab the computer sometimes while you are gone...

Heidi, how big to sliders get? Now you have food she loves you might need to get her a tank all her own!

She probably has a couple of years before she'll outgrow this big aquarium. Then she'll graduate to my goldfish pond. Or be released to the farm pond.

Morning everyone.
You know when you get an inkling something is wrong but you dismiss it...and shouldn't have?
I went to bed last night and after a short while, I thought I heard the water running, as though someone was having a shower. I knew Hannah was going to have one last night as this morning is her first day back at school and she is never a morning person!
Anyhoo, I thought she should have been out by then, so I went and investigated but no-=one was in the shower. I lay back down but could still hear something, but put it down to a new layer of noise in my permanent tinnitus!
This morning, sort of (and sort of not) pleased to say it's not in my head...it was the hot water service which is directly beneath our bedroom has burst it's seam. So now it's ring plumbers and spend money we don't have on something we would rather not.

Good morning you lovely SA people and Happy Birthday to Stella's Max.
eaa - we all love your spelling.
June - have a wonderful time in Egypt and give our best wishes to Wadgy,
Gail - sorry about your hot water. That happened to us the night our dishwasher hose broke. We heard the running water but were too tired and ignored it. Next morning our kitchen, dining room and living room - a pool!!
hello to Heidi, Suzy, Tami and anybody else who shows up. Off to see Sherlock Holmes finally today.

Hi everyone!
Gail, what rotten luck, and those things are never cheap ... darn!
CynB, hope you enjoy Sherlock Holmes - we thought it was hilarious. :)
Up early this morning after not enough sleep ... had to water the garden, and Rob has gone to Sydney for the day. But it's beautiful out (might get really hot later?) Planted a few half dead herbs (hope they survive!) and a few things I hadn't got round to, so only a few to go. Our zucchini are still going strong - every now and then we find an enormous one we've missed - we cooked one up the other day: cut it in half, scooped out the innards and filled it with fried veg, topped with cheese sauce and baked in the oven - not bad! :)

Good Afternoon, All!

Happy Bithday to Max/Ian! Hope you have a great day - and a yummy cake to celebrate!

Greetings and Sudoku Hugs to Rolanda, Brenda, Suzanne, MizTricia, Bean, Suzy, Heidi, CynB, Gail, June, Tami the T, eaa, ____

Bean, it's so good to see you able to post again! Don't let too much time go between your patches; they can make a world of difference with pain tolerance/awareness!

Suzy, hoping for the best for hubby's niece in Texas and her children! It doesn't sound like a good situation.

June, I hope your back is feeling better. And, good luck with the packing! I hope everything is small and light in weight!

CynB, I'm so glad you weren't stopped while driving before renewing your license - and so glad you are driving legally once more!

Gail, you have demonstrated once again what a great friend you are by being there for your friend Helen! So sorry to hear about the water problem! Here's hoping you have a reasonable plumber!

Heidi, you are so resourceful! I wouldn't have thought to look for turtle food on eBay! That's lucky for hungry little Frosty!

So glad to see that eaa has found us here!

Judy, so sorry you had to get up early, but glad you could water the garden and plant some herbs. Hopefully, they will revive. Filled zucchini sound yummy! I was wondering if that would be a way to enjoy it, especially an enormous one!
