Broni - I know a good homeopathy fellow at Alex Hills. He may be able to help. If you want more info let me know. He got Col back to work after 7 months and the docs waffling about not knowing what was wrong. Have they tried to blame the smoking yet, that's a fave??
Off my soapbox (or rather Heidi's cos she let me steal it).

Broni, about the alternative methods, go for it...can't hoit!
Cured my son's month long dose of the trots when he was about 12 months old. Conventional medicine was at a loss and they had tested for just about everything they could think of. In the end, my mother, who had a health food shop at the time, talked to an homeopath she knew through the business. The homeo suggested trying a drop of Bach flower remedy under his tongue a couple of times a day, and within 24 hours, he was coming right again! I have always been open-minded but this blew me out of the water!
Good luck.

GAIL, I understand about the weeds thing. Hubby objected to the lemon balm at first till he tasted it. Last night we had lemon slaw: cabbage with lemon balm picked fresh from my container garden (came up as a volunteer, gotta love it) with a lite mayonnaise/applesauce dressing.

CynB, Hurray for the refund. that is always welcome. Hope you can use it for something fun. I am dealing with government forms and websites and being run around in circles myself.

Gail, yes, love that fling food term myself, and some days even enjoy doing it.

Broni, just where do you hide your veggies?

Rolanda, nope, flu and colds are different virus, unfortunately. I just read that high doses of vitamin D, something like 10,000 IU for about 3 days can help a cold. I am taking higher once a week.

Just about to close down for the night -
MizT, will be using my tax refund to install solar power. We can get it installed for $1500 all up after the Govt has paid it's share. Then we can generate solar power and sell it back into the grid. It should reduce our quarterly power bill as well as being a green alternative. We already get our power from a company with wind farms. So, we won't get the benefit immediately but we will over time.
Goodnight Aussies, good morning topsiders.

Good Morning, SA8! I have just a few minutes to read and post. Then it will probably be a few more days before I can get back to the computer again.

Richard and Stella, I hope you are both feeling better! I hope none of our friends are suffering from the flooding! I hope everyone is well! Just a couple more days until we find out if the eggs become baby finches!

Good luck to those installing irrigations systems!

I hope rain only falls where needed and in the amounts that are needed.

So glad a few of you have new purses that are perfect!

And now, surprise, CRAFTs disease strikes again.

SUZY and others, photos, not such good photos are up of the coming attraction! This is just quilt borders laid out around the center section, to give you an idea. TERRIBLE quality, thought at first it was low light, nope, I shot them all as close ups! I will retake photos before I take this up , but no time to upload them at the moment.

back to government websites, and forma, agggggh. Hope to get an appointment soon to help us understand and find just what we need.

Hello everyone - just passing through. Getting ready to leave to go down to the Bay Area. Meeting with Katitude tomorrow morning in SF - Keith will be joining us there.
Chatted with her last night on the phone - she and Rob (and Cedric) were in Morro Bay.
Glad the tests came back negative Broni - but I know it must be frustrating at the same time. I get homeopathy treatment from my acupuncturist. I find it very helpful.
Rolanda - take care...I think you've been in the swamp bog too much lately! Hope you feel better soon...and you, too, Stella!
Really have to run.
Will report when I get back on the fun with Kathi.

Gail: Got the p.m. to work last night with TTT's help. Don't know if I need a subject. LOVE the term for salad (weeds) too funny! D calls it rabbit food too!!
Cynthia: Congrats on the refund! Solar sounds like SUCH a great idea!!
Stella, Heidi: (and anyone else under the weather) feel better!!
Rolanda: Please explain to a topsider what Bangers & Mash are?? I am assuming the Mash is potatos??? Clarification would help!! Thanks!
Got to pop off for now, will check in later, TTFN! Have a great day/nite!

You never read the "All Creatures Great And Small" books by James Herriot? (Infinitely better than the BBC series) The only thing Tristan Farnon could cook was bangers and mash.

Bad news on the Gouldian egg front. They started to hatch overnight. One of the parents decided they didn't want the babies in the nest, and threw them out. One was still alive when I found them, and I replaced it in the nest. Mama SEEMS to be caring for it now, but I don't know if it will last.

Oh Heidi what a shame about the eggs hatching etc. Are they first time parents? Hopefully it will not happen again. Touch wood that the one you saved and replaced into the nest will survive.

HEIDI, that is sad about the birds that tossed babies from the nest. Here is hoping the momma will continue to care for it. At least you got viable eggs this time! wonder how you teach Momma birds how to care for babies?

OK, break is over, time to go shower and dress for another outting. For whomever asked, TV reception is improving, but he still needs some other something. One of the things on our list to do today.

Hi tricia, not too bad. I've had a busy long weekend so not had a chance to post on here. Just catching up on the chatter.
Oh Richard is better now. Think he had a touch of food poisoning from the airline food

Hi everyone, here for a second. Thanks Heidi for the clarification on bangers & mash. No, I never read "All Creatures Great & Small"...So sad about the birds, hopefully that one survives. We had a hummingbird nest when we lived in Burbank. It was over where our mailboxes were. The first eggs didn't survive (thanks to El Nino that year) but the birds came back & re-built the nest in the same ficus tree & that set of birds survived...
Brenda: Glad Richard is better, what airline did he fly on???

The previous owner of the parents told me that they successfully raised 1 nest of babies in the beginning of this year. So they should know what they're doing.
They tossed the baby out a second time. I warmed it a little, and replaced it again, but if they continue, it won't survive.
Since they've raised babies before, it might be something that I'm doing wrong in their environment. or in their nutrition. I'm going to do more research.

Morning all
Broni, sorry the tests didn't show anything. I hope it doesn't turn out to be something like a friend of mine has. Her bowel wasn't working, they did test after test. Eventually turned out to be food sensitivities - to just about every food on the planet!
