It wasn't too hard to march & play, maybe because when I was learning, to keep from getting bored I walked around while I played.
Our kids asked why I didn't play a string instrument. I grew up in a town with 5000 people. We were lucky to have a band. No one I knew there played a string instrument. (I would still like to learn to play the cello.)

While marching in a local parade, a guy I went to high school with had his pants fall down right in the middle of town. Felt sorry for him, but it was funny.

Pretty embarrassing, I would think. Of course, band uniforms weren't made-to-order. You got stuck with something that sort-of fit.
Most embarrassing thing while I was in high school was a girl from my brother's class who played 1st trombone fell backwards off the risers during a concert.

A lot the the band members wore suspenders.
I hope the only thing that she hurt was her pride.

There was no indication of physical injury to her or her trombone, so I'm pretty sure it was just her pride that was hurt!

Bands and marching were not done in the schools I went to, poor side of town. Most embarrassing think I can remember is when I was to demonstrate how to use the rings in gym, I turned upside down and gas escaped...boy was I red and not from hanging upside down.

Hi Becky! Good to see you.
All these musical people! I tried to get my girls interested in the piano, and they did show a bit of an ear, but absolutely no interest. Sigh.

I'm back from feeding. Melony, Penny and Lady are eating loose next to me. That way I can keep them separate. The 3 of them won't eat in crates.

Good Maen Sudokuland! It is sunny and unseasonably cool for a June day. I had just folded and put away my fleece shirt jacket yesterday. Glad I put it into the chest, and it was within reach this morning. Low was 57 F, 13C.
I think in one of the lost posts recently, I was talking about my flowers. those winter Pansies that cheered me since September are still going strong. In April I moved them from the sun and gave them a shot of fertilizer. they rewarded me with mounds of blooms. The zinnias I planted from seed are surprisingly small flowered. I just gave them a good shot of fertilizer also. while I had it out, dosed all the containers. Hope I get more flowers soon.

Interesting musical talk, enjoyed it. I took piano, did not enjoy it. Gave it up as soon as I was allowed.
BECKY, good to see you back posting. Please continue, even if only a touch and go kind of post to let us know you survive. If you need to vent, this is a safe place.
GAIL, I love seeing your menus, even if I cannot reproduce them.
HEIDI, I hope Lady's leaving will calm down all the collies and make your life easier. I think you could handle her if anyone could.
JUNE and GAIL, yes, putting the shopping away is the worse. Sometimes after a large shopping trip, some of the put away spills over to the next day here.
BRONI, I hope you get your boat ride this weekend, enjoy if you can.
BEAN, where did your gadding take you?
HI ROLANDA, who let you out of the bog swamp?
HI SUZI , it is weekend, hope to hear more from you than that one post.
TAMI, good to see you here this morning, well almost here. Is your camp a day camp? who will watch the boys while you are there?
OK, that is what I remember from this page. Hugs to the rest of you are included.

Everyone.
I have ffuts to do this morning, so I'll be back in a bit.
MizT.... When Lady came here, I was forewarned that she bit if any attempt was made to groom her. Considering that she was NOT a major mess, that must not have applied to her owner. She will be a LOT happier back home. And my others will be a LOT happier when she leaves.
I agree with everyone. I hate putting away all the shopping. The dry goods may take 2 or 3 days to find their way into their proper places.

Julie, you got the TOPP because I refused to take it. I saw what number it was and started lurking until someone posted. I finally gave up and went to bed.

MizTricia, I do work at a day camp run by the city. Dylan is going as a camper, his 4th year. Mitchell is going as a volunteer counselor, or counselor in training. It is his 7th year at camp. 6 as a camper and first as a CIT.

I also agree that putting away the shopping is worse than actually doing the shopping.
Had to use the hot slidy thing this morning. Mitchell is attending a party and is wearing a shirt and tie. He is almost as tall as me. He has about 3 inches to go. He is only 12, I don't want him to grow up yet.

Ah Tricia....most of my 'gadding about' was boring stuff...went out to buy fresh beef from the wholesalers for the dogs...dropped some of it off at MIL for Tommy Trouble...he always hides under her feet when I go over there...just in case I have any silly ideas about taking him back home to live with me!! LOL... He really missed mum when she died and really enjoys having someone like him [old, half blind, half deaf] to potter around after. I'm sure I've probably told you all this before...luckily some of you have CRAFT's and will have forgotten!!
After dropping Jess and Lachie at home with the shopping [left it to L'ie to put it away] I dropped in on the other Victoria in my life...she shares a lot of traits with our other lovely Vici - she is caring, compassionate, vibrant and bubbly, laughs a lot and is a lot of fun to be with. She is looking forward to meeting the other Vici in my life... I hadn't seen her since she moved back from Hong Kong less than a couple of weeks ago...spent a lovely hour chatting to her hubby whom I hadn't seen for 6 years and hearing about their 6 weeks in Europe ..well deserved rest after packing up the house ... by this stage the lady of the house was home..I was almost in the car...naturally I went back in to tell her hubby that he couldn't get rid of me that easily. Naturally we had to crack a bottle of fizz a celebrate being together. It is so nice to have her back around the corner for a while ...until they decide what to do next...
Is their anything better in the world than good friends?
I think not...as we all here know well...
Golly...it's bed time....GOODNIGHT ALL...

Hello everyone. Things should be a little less hectic here. Yesterday was my last Brownie meeting. We had a beach party. The kids had a great time and stayed in the water for most of it even though it is a little early for swimming yet. The weather was very nice but we did get a short storm just as we were packing up to leave. When I got home the power was out. I was cooking supper in the slow-cooker so it stayed hot enough until our power was restored about an hour later.
Everyone has gone to Kelowna today but I have to go out, too, so no day alone for me. I am going to help inventory our district Girl Guide camping equipment. I am going to be the District Camp Mentor. I will be in charge of camp equipment and helping people plan camps which includes helping with forms, menus and just about any other questions related to camping. Hopefully it won't be more than I expect.
Stay well and safe. I will try to get back here soon.

Lovely to see some of the MIA's back posting. Hope everyone is well or getting better.
I had Callie back to the vets yesterday for her first post op visit. Everything is doing ok with her incision, her hair is starting to grow back too. Have to take her back next Friday to have the stitches out. She is none to happy that her walks have to be on lead all the time, she is used to be free running.
