Great TOPP, Heidi! How are the dogs & Survivor doing? Have you had a drier day today? I'm sure it's warmer than Chicago area. Temperatures in the mid-40* F overnight and mid to high 60* F at the warmest.

It rained all day today. I don't want to complain about it because it's preferable to the drought we've had for the past 2 years.
The collies and Survivor are all doing well.

It didn't even reach 60 ℉ here today. So we're pretty close to your temps.

Guess we can't complain about the temps. At least we had sun for a portion of the day. Here's hoping we can send the sun down your way tomorrow!

I think I'm going to call it a day. Didn't get much sleep last night, so hoping tonight will be better. Good Night, Heidi! Good Afternoon/Evening/Night to others who might be around but not posting - or who will be here before I get back tomorrow. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hi SA8. Heidi and Julie should be fast asleep by now. Have been out and about the last 2 days delivering Avon etc.
Off to work tomorrow.
Time to think about flinging some chicken pieces I think.

Viv, how are you enjoying your new job? I guess things are a bit slow now but the school holidays and the summer should be busy times?
Out to dinner tonight (Social at the bowling club). It is nice not to cook!

Good evening all - another busy day for me, tomorrow will be as bad.
Broni - are you around? Did you hear that the Norman Hotel burnt down this afternoon. We'll have to go across the river to get the best steaks in town now. My son-in-law Chris is bitterly disappointed because we go there for his birthday every year and I doubt it will be rebuilt by mid-July. Just going to catch it on the news - back later.

Evening all!
Hmmmm. One subject? Teachers here have probably 5 classes each, each class has about 6 topics a year. In science that includes stuff like chemistry, physics, geology, biology, astronomy and something else I can't remember. That's at 5 different levels. I have 4 classes for my prac. Year 11 physics, doing electricity right now, moving to forces next week, year 10 chemistry (top class), year 7 chemistry, moving to astronomy next week, and senior support (students with significant intellectual disabilities), doing chemistry of a sort with them.

I really enjoyed my year 10 chemistry class today. They were all participating and seemed to be learning stuff. We were talking about happy atoms giving and sharing, charges and symbols.
Year 7, hmmmm, smiling devil thanked me for my help today and I couldn't help wondering what he really meant.
The physics kids are trying to learn how to write stuff in their own words. I'm trying to teach them that rearranging sentences is the hard way to do it. They need to understand the topic and then their own words will flow.

Hi June and Suzi.
Yes the new job is great.
Very quiet at the moment but that is to be expected. Only doing a couple of days and that is enough. Looking forward to it tomorrow as the last two days I have been driving and running around like a March hare getting the Avon orders out. Will be nice to take my knitting and the paper and do some crosswords etc. when it is quiet. How long have you been teaching Suzi?

Good morning all! I see that Ruby's birthday announcement must have been removed because it's not there. Someone must have told Gath. Miss you Ruby!
Brenda, I hope Callie is doing better!
Heidi, good luck with all those finches!
Cyn, so funny about taking your grandie shopping! You wouldn't have missed it for the world though!
Viv, good that you have so many orders, bad that you have to run around like a march hare. Hope you get a chance to relax.
MizT, so glad your grandson is getting the ipod that will help him. It's wonderful that technology can bridge the gap!
Vici, hope your sprinkler system is all done and you can relax and enjoy your beautiful garden!
June, hope you had fun at your bowling club!
Rolanda, glad all of your shots are done!
Suzy, way to go with your science classes!
Gail & Julie, always nice to see your posts!
I don't remember what else!

Ian is home sick. His classes are all review for the finals. Hopefully, he'll feel well enough to review at home. He's a typical male sickie! His big graduation ceremony is tomorrow morning, so that's another reason I wanted him to rest. (I don't know why they have the graduation before the finals. Maybe because a lot of people leave for vacation right after the last final.)

I wish I could learn to push the correct buttons! AGHHHHHHHHHH, just lost another post.
Good Maen to all, it is cloudy , cool and damp today.
Suzi, how many students are enrolled in your school and what grades are served? the school my girls attended was very large with a population of near 1,000 students in grades 7-9 at the Junior High ( middle school now) and then 10-12. It served about 15 different communities, with buses collecting and delivering students from a large geographical area. So plenty of students for a teacher to teach 6 different groups the same subject during each day.

Stella, hope Ian gets well soon and can enjoy his graduation tomorrow. A big day for him, and will there be photos to share?
Viv, sounds like you have to go to your part time job to rest.
June, how nice to go out for dinner. Do they put on a nice meal for you at bowls? There should be a good play on words there, Ray ray would find it hehe.
HEIDI, do we get to see Survivor? How much milk in his bucket how often now? Is he eating grass and hay also? When is weaning, I remember you wean all the calves same time, but forgot when.

The back is hurting again. Only 19 days 'til the next epidural. I need it.
One of these days I'll take some pictures. I think I need to talk to my doctor and switch my antidepressant. Maybe I can get motivated to take photos then.

Hi All...Nothing much going on here except my heat....Can you believe that? Its so cold and damp, and my house was just too uncomfortable for me, therefore, time for the heat to at least take the chill out.
When I warm up a bit more, I'll shower and wash my hair in preparation for an all day outdoor festival being held at my church tomorrow....when I'll have to do it all over again....oh what a thrilling life I lead...lol. Have a good day/night all.
Suzy....your classes sound so familiar...especially that grade 7 youngster who thanked you for your help....Enjoy the mystery...its just the beginning of many....

Heidi,
I do hope your back feels better soon. The epidural will certainly help when its due, especially with all of the long distance driving you will be doing...take care...
To anyone else under the weather, wishes for a speedy recovery...in particular, Ian....hope your graduation isn't marred by your not feeling up to snuff...

Believe it or not, Mama.... Long drives don't seem to bother my back. It could be because my truck is really comfortable, and I don't feel stressed while driving.

I'm having another one of those days. I can't get in to see the doctor about the antidepressants for nearly 2 weeks. They're booked solid.
Robert was doing some work with my big tractor
got careless, and destroyed one of the doors. I have to buy a new door.
IH and I got into a nasty fight. Over money.

Gail, don't forget to save some mulch for me.
Vici, you must have a big property because that's a lot of feet of trenching!
MizT, I think there are about 1200 students from years 7 to 12 (12 years to 18 years).

Forgot - we have 2 confirmed cases of swine flu - one at one of the naval bases and another at the girl's school. They haven't closed it down though. Maybe they only do that if they have evidence that it has spread.

Sister and I looked after the girls while Renae had a much needed break away for a few hours. She is having neck problems and tests haven't found anything,so it could be stress related.Renae hasn't been anywhere without them in 22 months. She must have "ME" time he thinks.Anyway she came home very happy with her shopping after having lunch with her hubby.
I bought myself a crock pot,and made a pea & ham soup.Hope it tastes as good as it smells.
