I can tell how bad the economy is by the number of people who once, long ago, worked for Al and are now showing up to see if he has any work for them. Today two came to visit him.

OH HEIDI, do be careful driving yourself home. I hope the doc does not cancel because your ride is not there waiting on you. You have been waiting so long for this procedure.

IH rarely is waiting for me anyways. He drops me off, then goes off to visit clients and potential clients. When I'm done, I go outside to wait for him to pick me up. The staff generally doesn't see him.
Plus, he gets too upset in the waiting room. He can hear grown men screaming in agony while they get epidurals. And they can REALLY scream.

30 words short of finishing my paper - probably because I have no idea what one part of the question is asking for....
Going to have a nap and see if that helps....
Heidi - be safe!
Tami - stay sane!
MizT - that's sad.

Hi everyone, hope you're all well!
Busy day today - have to do the unmentionable (gninaelc)! Daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law are coming tomorrow, and they must have beds to sleep in (what's wrong with the floor?!) and food to eat (Hey, as I've said before - Maccas on one corner, KFC on the other!) I don't know, kids these days, expect everything! ;)

I am exhausted!
DIL texted a few days ago asking if we would be able to get the ride-on mower over to their place...I had to question her as to why. Her smart-alec response was she wanted to go joy-riding, but the truth of the matter is that their yard had got away from them and their little mower wouldn't hack the pace. I offered to take my mower and slasher over there and do it for them to which she protested loudly, but as I said to her, it would be giving me something to do!

Good afternoon lovely SA8 people.
Wow, I'm late getting here today. Went to see 'The Proposal' today with Karin. It was OK. I liked the one I saw last week much better (The Hangover). This one was a bit too contrived. Maybe it was a bit close to home for me - I was my Hubby's boss, that's how we met and I am older than him like in the movie. There the similarity ends.

Heidi - Good luck with the epidural tomorrow. Maybe if you have to drive home it might be a good idea to rest a bit before you leave for your return journey.
MizT - that is sad about people looking for work but it's universal. We picked the wrong time to go into business again. It's going slower than we hoped and of course during winter the grass doesn't grow as quickly. It's been a bit of a wake up call because with the other business we never thought of money and spent what we liked, when we liked. We've had to tighten our belts and I don't like it - not one bit!!
BTW - the $50 million didn't go off last night so it will jackpot next week. Still in with a chance!!

Back after nearly 2 hours - Aussies - Ozlotto jackpots to $90 million next Tuesday!!
Can you believe it? Highest ever in Australia. I know lotteries are higher in other countries but ours are tax-free!

Here's a question (and a CP) - what would you do with that much money? Would you want the responsibility? Not me. I would love to win a million or so but $90 million is scandalous.

Hmmmm $90 million.... way more than I would want or need. So... give a bunch away. Starting with family, then charities, of course take all my friends out for dinner, um, buy a house each for the kids, upgrade our house and build our dream house... go on a round the world trip... invest some for retirement... start a business, maybe.... if there's still anything left after that then I didn't give enough away in the first place. That's with 5 minutes thought...

Charities would do well if I won that sort of money. No ordinary person could ever spend that amount, even after buying expensive house car etc. The daily interest on it even in these low interest times would be enough to live off comfortably.
Wins like that are tax free here too Cyn.

Fantastic, Rolanda! I wish Fionafest was sooner than 29 days away. It's hard to believe that you're down to counting hours instead of days.
I leave for the hospital in 25 minutes. This is making me both nervous and excited. Nervous, because it will be VERY painful and excited, because I'll feel SO much better tomorrow.

Easy peasey... I would hire a jet and fly around the country picking you all up and then head off to check up on all the topsiders.... it would be a sudoku meet to end all sudoku meets...
After sorting out a few financial headaches of friends and family it would be good to be able to support all my favourite charities...

Hi everyone, Safe driving Heidi, and have a good rest later.
Missed eaa. Good to see her posting again.
Counted the guesses for Karen's baby. A quick count gave me 8 boys and 12 girls. I think Jill said Karen said 11 people got the right sex.
Rolanda, I will be travelling with you in spirit. Have a great time. I will get out my photos as I 'travel' with you.
I will not win the lottery as I do not buy a ticket.......but if, the family would each get a small bequest and the rest invested while decisions were made.

Enjoy having Emily Cyn, I had Laura today. The Grandies certainly are fun. (although I do have a bit of cleaning to do today where she has been cutting up paper).
Mamacita, my sympathies for having hives. I had them a couple of months ago but the cortisone cleared them up in a day or two.
Hope you got your paper finished Suzy.
Tami, I hope the weather improves for your holiday camp.
Thinking of everyone else but too tired to go and reread previous pages.

Good morning all! I'm afraid I will never catch up.
Cyn, maybe we should all chip in and buy a ticket for the lottery. I don't buy tickets here, but then again, the winnings are heavily taxed. Debts would be paid, necessary repairs made, family helped and charities endowed.
Heidi, hope all went well!
Didn't know that Karen had a c-section. My first was a c and the next 3 were natural. Natural over c any day.
Judy, lol re floor and take-out. What wrong with that!
Bean, pick me up too!
Rolanda, bon voyage!

Good Maen Sudokuland. Another bright blue day, not a cloud in the sky, and lots of sunshine. The dew point has dropped a good bit, so it is not nearly as muggy today. Hope that trend continues.
HEIDI, good luck on the epidural, hope the pain in minimal and the relief is maximum.
Suzy, I hope you get that paper finished successfully.
Lottery, huumm, I would build a house and a vacation house on the water somewhere, buy autos, and charter a jet to go to Oz, take care of family and friends with new houses, cars, educational trust funds and a monthly allowance, then we would start a house lottery, give away dome houses for deserving people. 90 million, huumm, I figure I might live another 20 years, and not counting any interest, I could spend $375,000 every MONTH, yep, I could squeak by on that hehehe.

Ian finished his soccer season last night. They won their final game. Tonight starts tryouts for next year's team! I think this is Meghan's last day in Turkey. She visited a Turkish bath and Topaki palace. It seems like she is really enjoying the sightseeing. I'm sure she'll really enjoy Hungary because then she will have someone to tour with. Brendan worked the "3-11" concert last night and it was uneventful(unlike the Dave Matthews concert) Bryana will start working at the concession area at the concert on Saturday for the Jazz Festival. That's a difficult concert since it lasts the whole day, but at least she is not cleaning for it. I think Brendan is working at it as well.

I'm off to bed now - will try to get back in the morning to check on how Heidi went with her epidural.
Some interesting answers to the lottery question. I hope Bean wins - don't forget to fly to Brissie and pick us up, will you?
So, if June is right, Karen's baby is a girl. I lost count when I tried to do the count before and gave up.

Heidi you are at least part way through your epidural now, drive safely on the way back.
Rolanda enjoy your trip, hope you manage to see everything you want.
MizT, weather here is hot (23C) but probably not as hot as your temps. I sat outside this morning using the hot slidy thing so accomplished something as well as enjoyed the fresh air.
Just got the reults from my squashy test and everything is ok no sign of any problems this time.
Finally got my watch back, I sent it away for servicing and a new battery at the end of last month, I was getting a little worried about it as I hadn't seen the cheque, which I sentr in payment, clear through the bank. I'll have to go and check the bank. If it has cleared already it means I have an extra £100 left.
