Thank you for sharing that poem, eaa! It was beautiful - and, yes, I cried.
Judy, I cried/laughed about your lost chocolate, too.
Suzy, sounds like the young woman you are tutoring has her head on her shoulders. Good for her for having a goal!
Ebob must have several goals! Sounds like she's setting herself up for a couple of tough years, but good for her if she can accomplish it all! Suzy, you can always come here & rant!

Hi, Heidi! I'm also reading posts & commenting! I hope you have spare pairs of Crocs! Is Lucky still allowed in the house? Did Hollie appreciate being spoiled for dinner last night?

Sending some sunshine, especially to Heidi & MizT. Sorry, I don't have a rainy/cloudy stained glass avatar for those who need rain, including Gail & probably most of the DUGs.

Oops - I'm pretty sure I missed Nola & Brenda from my greetings list. Sending warm wishes your way, as well!

everybody.
Hollie was so appreciative that she decided that the bed was hers. We spent the night pushing and shoving for possession of my pillow. I think Lucky figured out that I was NOT happy, and he destroyed nothing last night, for a change. Of course he's still allowed in the house. Locking him out will teach him nothing. He wouldn't understand the connection.

Pleased to hear that there was nothing destroyed last night Heidi. I remember when Lady was a puppy she chewed the legs on all my dining chairs and the plaster off the wall next to the patio doors. Fortunately Callie hasn't chewed anything (touch wood) and neither has Indi.

Judy, that was a serious case of CRAFTs, forgetting where you put chocolate. Now if I had done that I would have blamed the kids for eating it, but you had no one to blame (hugs for the frustration)
eaa a lovely poem and probably relevent to many farmers in these times.
Cyn and Bean pleased that you are both feeling better.
Broni enjoy your week on the boat.
Crafts has got me now but my good wishes for everyone of you.

Off to run errands.
1) I need to get dog food, especially some that Mason isn't allergic to. She's allergic to chicken, fish, pork and potato. She's also allergic to cats, but I'm trying to convince her that they are NOT a food item.
2) I need to pick up tractor parts. While I was in Florida, IH used my tractor without permission (He has his own which he's supposed to use!) and broke it AGAIN!

Hi all.
I can't blame IH for wrecking my tractor. Unfortunately. It was pure coincidence that it broke down while he was using it against my wishes. The mechanic hasn't been able to find out the exact cause yet.... all he knows is that fuel isn't getting to the engine. And the problem is NOT the fuel filters. He worked on it here for nearly 3 hours, and has now realized that he has to take it into the shop to take it apart.

Broni... Mason, Coffee and Penny all think that cat
is one of the major food groups. The cat has not been born that can outrun Coffee. Fortunately for the cats, I have trees in the yard for when they foolishly stroll in.
Several of the silly cats have spent MANY hours in them.

Heidi, it sounds like it could be funny to watch the dogs chasing the cats up the trees.
Suzy, Ebob will make the right choices and you will live through it with her.
Suzanne, I will call you over the weekend. Don't want to wake you up.
eaa, never seem to be here at the same time as you.
Julie, good luck with the knees.
Don't remember what else I was going to say. I will blame my forgetfullness on being tired from being outside all day with my campers. That's my story and I am going to stick with it.

I have a busy weekend doing errands. Now is the time of year the office stores start having teacher appreciation days. If I go on the right day, I get goodies and discounts. Sometimes it is fun. I have to start coming up with ideas for my bulletin boards and get some new posters to put up. I get different students every year so they won't know the difference but I get bored looking at the same things all the time. I figure, if the kids are going to day dream and stare at the walls, there should be something for them to stare at and maybe they will learn something. My posters are mostly math related.

Good morning lovely SA people.
Suzanne - came on to see if you'd posted again but it seems you haven't. Hope you feel calmer now.
Heidi - laughing at the cats in the trees. We had a (persian)cat and a dog (German Shepherd) at one time years ago. Let me tell you, that cat ruled - if the dog annoyed her, she'd swipe across it's nose with her paw. Also the dog was a comfy bed for the cat. They slept together always, at the behest of the cat.
Hello to Julie, Brenda, Tami, Nola and Broni (have a great week on the boat).

Good morning everyone!
CynB - we had a cat like that once. Every new batch of puppies learnt the same lesson - cat would sit on a chair, tail waving gently from side to side, puppy would come up, be mesmerised for a few minutes, then make a grab. Whack! Claws across the end of the nose, and puppy NEVER tried that again! You have to be cruel to be ... er, cruel! It's a cat's life!

Regarding my chocolate debacle yesterday - thank you to everyone who showed such sympathy! (The names of the mockers have been noted!)
And now for the punch-line:
I lost half a kilo yesterday! Must have been all that exercise as I searched. :0

Farron is the main mechanic at the dealership I got the tractor from. If he can't fix it, nobody can. He's that good. It's just that mundane, simple problems never happen around here. He's seen things happen to my tractor that the parent company has never seen! Fortunately, they are usually paid for by the manufacturer.

Heidi - no, the chocolate has vanished into never-never land. I'm sure it will turn up at the most inappropriate time! But don't worry, I bought myself another (small) block, feasted until the urge had passed, and should now be back on the straight and narrow for some time. Sometimes I just have accept that I have the willpower of ... mmm... of... a thing without willpower...
And there are worse things than chocolate to crave - blood, world-domination,etc. It's all relative. ;)

Hi All,
Gail, corn kernels are a good prevention for macular degeneration.
Suzanne pleased you had a place here to vent. I sincerely hope it helped and that things start to sort themselves out in your favour soon.
eaa, that was a wonderful poem and I hope a lot of desparate farmers get to read it and understand the message.
Heidi, hope the tractor gets fixed soon. The problems with our mechanical world. Had a laugh at your cats all up the tree.
Judy, the other day my hubby came out eating an Easter egg that I had left sitting in a "puzzle" cup. I thought he could have opened a box of Lindt that someone had given him and not eaten my sudoku egg. Do you agree Suzy!

Beautiful sunny day here as was the last couple of days.
Bowled two games yesterday and had a really fun day. We lost the first game on the last end and won the second game on the last end. My rice and pasta salads are going down well. Will have to start cutting up the vegetables for tomorrow soon as we are playing another two games (mixed pairs) so have to have everything ready by 8am.
I also have my sister coming for dinner so will need to get myself organized.(her hubby is overseas on business)
Should have been a lovely day at baseball today Suzy. hope the game went well. Ebob is certainly picking the subjects to help her get good marks to get into Uni. Has she any idea what she would like to study at Uni?
