Cyn, the games are the worst on that other page, closely followed by the quizzes. I laughed about your ear plugs comment. At their supposed bedtime the girls were in a room with double brick and a solid core door at the other end of the house to our room. Hubby may have heard them as he doesn't sleep well, but I didn't hear a sound...

Suzanne, I was able to open your pictures (yay Darrell!) but they were big. So were my party pictures...

I am watching a show on tv that is selling all kinds of Beatles stuff. I am glad that my wallet is downstairs or I would be spending a fortune. So far, I have seen 4-5 things that I want.

Sooo nice to see you here, Cyn! Yes, I have seen you on Facebook, too. I try to visit there about once every week or so. Knock on wood, I have not yet played a game or taken a quiz, but that's just because I have tried to limit my time there. We have been WAY too busy here. That, plus my allergy fog/migraine difficulty to focus, and I have way too much to get caught up on. One of these days . . .

So glad you got things done in the garden yesterday, Rolanda, so today's rain could be appreciated.

It is so good to be back... offline all day yesterday... ISP having problems this time... change from US having problems!
Same old ... same old here... still pruning roses. Have finished with the grape vine for now.. it is dripping sap everywhere and I'm feeling pretty guilty. There are plenty of roses to keep me busy.
At least 20 odd out the back to do and probably another half a dozen out the front.
Still feeling really tired but each day I am a little further along the road to recovery. Likewise Lachie. Pete escaped!!

Suzy I am not surprised to hear that you are the hostess with the mostest!!
I was once voted the mostest for one of Lachie's birthdays. I got chatting with the operators of a local steam tug that was up in dry dock. They dropped it into the water on the appropriate day and we took a bunch of kids to Williamstown for a picnic. A friend met us over there with all the food and then we caught the tug back to the city. All of the kids got to go through the engine room, 'toot' the whistle and have a steer... No one got seasick and no-one fell overboard.

Did a similar sort of excursion on a steam train one day to Bacchus Marsh. Picnic, cricket in the park and back on the train to town. Thank goodness we are past all that stuff!! Now it is paintballing....

Someone asked how daughters were getting on in Canada. Apart from running out of money, they are heading back to Edmonton today after picking up my brothers car from the garage (a wheel bearing had gone) Not sure what they have planned for the next week. They arrive home on th 19th.
Haven't had much of an up date on my friend in hospital. She is improving very very slowly, has had the trachea removed so now she can actually speak.

That is wonderful news Brenda. Baby steps to recovery.

Good Morning Sudokuland. It is a typical August day here today, gonna be hot nd muggy. I am so thankful that this last month the temps are not getting to me like they did before. I get hot, and I sweat, but I do not feel so very breathless from the heat.

I need to today or tomorrow. Al has said he did not think it a giid thing for me to be on riding mower while he is away. I tend to agree, so want the grass shsort fore he leaves. should not take but 20-30 minutes to get the back and side done, I did front and other side on Friday.

Thinking of Vici this morning. Hope her insides are as good looking and healthy as her outside is.

We want to go shopping today. Himself needs to get things for his trip and I need to stock up on good things to at while he is gone. I also need to put away some okra we were given. I shall cook a big part of it , it keeps, okra and tomatoes, and then freeze the rest for later.

I have cucumbers, if anyone is interested. I am making a marinated cucumber that I am loving this summer. I save d9ill pickle juice and slice my cucumbers, add sliced onion, and marinate. It is not a pickle but not a cucumber either. Tastes more like fresh cucumber but no belching all day after. I put a bit of balsamic vinegar and olive iol on the cukes and onions for a nice refreshing salad.

I am off to water flowers fore it gets so hot, the cleomes are almost shoulder high and need a lot of water now. I do think I shall have seed, lots of seed from them this year.

Yeah Nola, I'm still here! Like the proverbial bad penny, I always turn up! Just about to head off to the shower theough.
It is very late and I meant to do it hours ago, but here I sit...
Hubby and I spent the day burning off all the piles of gumtree litter that we have had in the front yard since like forever. I took a couple of photos on my phone of before, and tomorrow, when we have tidies the area all up, we will take some after shots.
There is a photo in my gallery taken some years ago that shows the largest of the piles, like I said, they have been there a while!

We used to mulch the piles but since the mulcher has been out of action, this is the quickest way to resolve the issue!

Vici: Yes, that is my needlepoint...(and me in the yellow top)it will be a pillow. I have to take it to a sewing shop in town as I don't sew. Darrell has a sewing machine but hasn't shown me how to use it yet. I have two other pillows I have completed and decided to keep. One is irises & the other is sunflowers. I'll eventually take photos of those too.

The other photo is my dog Heidi. Can someone please tell me how to resize those photos now that they are on my page?
