I have just got home from picking hubby up from the side of the road while our little car was towed away.... but hubby is fine so all is good - until I'm stuck at home with no car of course...

Running on empty here! Getting some breakfast and then heading out to paint. This afternoon, heading to Albany to check out a used flute for Ian and then Ian has soccer practice.(I can't believe they have practice on a holiday!)

Stella, Brenda will be about 3.5 hours away from Disney World. She is staying east of me about 20 minutes away depending on traffic. To get to her is all city streets, no highway. I don't know exactly where she is staying, just the city. It is not that big of an area. Mom and I are planning on trying to meet up with her at some point, probably bring the beastie's also.

The rain is really coming down hard here at the moment and what a lovely sound it is.We sure needed some.

Stella, the last place I would ever visit is a theme park. I do not like the big rides there, so paying the high prices just to walk around them doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm sure we will find lots of good places to visit.

Ally was so worried about hubby last night she wanted to come with me to pick him up. She called at least 3 times while I was getting him. I haven't heard her coughing overnight so I'm not sure if she will be going to school today or not.

It looks like hubby might have pulled a muscle in his left shoulder, but other than that appears unscathed. I'll know better when he gets up later.

June it is Stella who is painting, I would pay someone to that here.

Suzy, I was hoping it was just a breakdown with the car. What happened that Hubby is hurt?
Having MIL means I cannot spend as much time here. It also means I clean up after myself and the house is tidier. Today is bowls and trading table so yesterday (as well as taking Laura swimming because Sharon had to go into school)I made cakes and lemon Butter for the trading table. I have also been working on the other old set of drawers. I can do that and keep MIL company at the same time.

House guests are fun but time consuming June. Hubby is fine, but the car isn't. He drove a concrete barrier for about 15 metres. Rain and road works are not a good mix...

Suzy, sorry to hear about the car. I am glad hubby is fine and hope Ally is feeling better. I found a website www.geni.com that allows you to build your family tree online. I stumbled accross it a few weeks ago. Long story short, I found relatives of hubby's in Israel who have a son the same age as Mitchell. The two have started an email friendship. I would love to visit Israel someday and will now have some distant cousins to visit.

Of course it is raining again! I just hung clothes on the line! There's more blue than clouds in the sky for crying out loud!

On a happy note... Some more Gouldian finch babies hatched out today!!! I don't know how many, because I didn't want to disturb them too much... but the parents were sitting on 9 eggs! I'll be happy if 3 hatched out.
Both parents are red headed normals (wild color) , but both should carry the gene for the blue mutation. I know the female does for sure, and I believe the male does. So I might end up with a blue baby out of this.

No idea either Heidi, but guess it is one of the games on FB.
Hope you get a blue baby out of this lot.

Hi everyone, hubby and I hurt! But the backyard is starting to come together. All the edging is in, and the paths have been raked. All we need to do now is rake the beds and top them with mulch...but I couldn't do another thing tonight!

June..yes,I have 1 more early!The skies opened up this morning and we had 40ml of rain in 5 hours.I was a little concerned driving with the sky lit up with lightning and loud thunder,but I made it un-scathed to work.

Home with the hire car. It's a new experience for me to drive a 6 cyl auto!

Lantra is the old car - it's a probably right off, though it's off for a second opinion now.

I was right by the way, hubby is sore all down his left side. The insurance company asked him how long he's been rally driving as he was on 2 wheels for a while.

I have read, but have to run. I thought of you all!

Broni, I like the way you spell Suzy's name, to my mind it sounds (reads) like a school nickname that has stayed with her, a one given by a close friend. My best friend used to call me adnerb!!

Nola, hubby went in and had a shower, I still have to get a round tuit! Someone had to crumb the schnitzels and cook them.
