It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

I am popping in again today without reading, just to say HI. Do I need to turn in my membership card and decoder ring? do I have too many absences to remain a member in good standing?

I have regained consciousness from the muscle relaxers, having become more accustomed to them now. today is my first appointment with chiropractor to see if he can help some while waiting on insurance approval. AAGHHHHH! The relaxers have helped, if I limit my walking, and if I do the work a bit, rest a bit thing, the pain is almost gone! but my goal is to get pain free for walking, I need the exercise on my new 'get my health back' plan I am working on. I graduated to more foods today on the eating plan, finished with the more restrictive part today! It will be good to get back some of the foods I missed. It will be difficult to learn another way of eating . I just got accustomed to the first one! hehehe.

Thinking of you all, and sending hugs to anyone needing one.

Catch you all later I hope, time to start my day.

Good morning all! Cloudy this morning but I don't think they called for rain.

MizT, hope all goes well at the chiro and you're back to good as new in a jiffy!

Suzy, hope hubby is not feeling an ill after-effects from the accident. By the sound of it, he's lucky to not have been more seriously injured. Driving on 2 wheels is a no no! I saw that happen to a vw bug 35 years ago when a tractor trailer grazed it. Between the wind draft of the truck, the slight bump and the lightness of the vw, it went up on its 2 wheels!

I've done all the painting outside that I can do for now. Hubby has to clean the second floor of the back before I can paint it. I can scrub the first floor, but it's too hard for me to scrub the wooden shingles while on the ladder and trying to get all the moss and mold off. Oh, the joy of living in the woods! Hubby painted the peaks on the side of the house. It was just too high for me to reach on one side and the ladder had to be put on the garage roof for the other side and I just didn't want to stand on a ladder on a roof. Call me crazy! Although afterward, I heard hubby tell my in-laws that "we" had almost finished priming the whole house. He thinks that because he did the two really high parts(from the attic vent to the peak), it's now "we"!!

Now I have to clean the house since my FIL is coming this weekend. The 3 kids' big stuff may be gone, but they left bits and pieces of stuff everywhere! Then off to Ian's first school soccer game this afternoon. I just hope it is a little warmer than it was yesterday. It was very chilly at his practice and the bathrooms were not open!

Stella, I'm imagining cold weather with closed bathrooms and the image is not good! In fact it's downright uncomfortable.

MizT, you will always be a member in good standing - you made the page! I hope the chiro can help you.

Broni, if you stopped calling me Zusy I'd be all confused!

I will explain it wrong I'm sure, but I'll try... the first concrete barrier is sort of triangular rather than square. Hubby drove up that one and along a few others, about a third of the car apparently on top of them. When he came down he was on two wheels at a huge angle. Instinct took over and he did the exact opposite of what I would have done and turned the steering wheel toward the two wheels that were on the ground. Somehow or other that made the car land back on 4 wheels. The guy behind him helped him to move the car to somewhere safer, swearing and cursing about the way the road was marked the whole time.

That sounds like an accident which should have been filmed to get the impact of what happened. But as I have said before your hubby is alright... cars can easily be replaced (though can be expensive)
MizT there is no way could anyone demand your membership card back, you are part of the backbone of this family. Hope you feel better soon.

MizT... that sounds like deja vu all over again. It took me about 6 or 7 months to get into pain management, and I vaguely remember being in a pill induced haze through most of it. NOT FUN! I hope the chiropractor can help. I tried going that route, and it put me in the ER. The adjustments aggravated the back condition something fierce.

Good morning everyone.
I'm up way to early - have to go to the dentist again today.
Nice to hear from MizT again - hope the chiropractor can help you.
Suzy, it sounds as if your husband was quite lucky - sorry he's so sore.
A man in Scotland is going to send me some family history information - I was really excited until I got to the warning, "I think it has been photocopied several times and you may find it difficult to read." Oh darn, I think if it's unreadable I'll just cry! I wrote an email to a Scottish newspaper (the Lochaber News), after I found an article about immigration from Scotland - apparently they printed my letter! This was about the time when my e-mail address stopped working, so I thought that was the end of it, but no! I'll just have to wait and see if it's stuff we already know - quite excited here! The guy who wrote to me had the most amazingly Scottish name, but his second email is just signed "Al".

Hi all. Just stopping in to say hello. I had a lousy nite sleep. I think I got 3-4 hours and then tossed the rest of the night. At least I had an easy day in school. We got to watch tv for a little while. President Obama made a speech to all the school kids so of course it was "mandatory" to watch it. I wanted to see it and the kids all behaved, all 9 that I had with me. I have a small class in the middle of the day.

T-Vaz, What do you think? Should I leave Broni stuck on 13??

Good morning all - Life overtook me with a vengeance and I haven't been here since last week so have only read the last 2 pages so far.
Tami - what or who is T-Vaz or is that explained in the pages I haven't read.
Suzy - sorry about the Lantra but as Brenda says the most important thing is that your hubby is OK.
Heidi - more baby birds, how lovely. I was at the pet shop yesterday and as usual looked at their finches (you've got me hooked on them) and as well as the colours in your smileys, one was almost entirely yellow! - I want it!
MizT - glad you're getting used to the meds now and I hope the chiropractor can help while you await more news on your treatment.
Hello also to Broni, Nola, Suzanne, Brenda, Gail, Stella, Judy and whoever else I have forgotten.

I'm back. 3 trips to the Wollongong area in 3 days has me not wanting to see the inside of a car again for a loooong time. I wouldn't mind looking at the inside of my eyelids for a little while too. No sleep is going around.

Suzy/Zusy.... I have either 25 or 26 finches now. Maybe more in a few weeks. The 2 pairs whose babies have left the nests are already sitting on MORE eggs! Talk about making up for lost time! I was having such a hard time getting started with these little guys and now they've got a finch factory going!

It's official. The car is a write off. I picked up all of our stuff out of the boot and glove box this morning and said my goodbyes. I also took out the stereo that I gave hubby for his birthday a couple of years ago.

Greetings from ILLINOIS, finally! We arrived home about 10:30 p.m. It is now 1:40 a.m. Sleep is about to overtake me. We visited Alaska - 4 days on land, including to Denali National Park and Mt. McKinley, tallest peak in the U.S., then 7 days southbound on a cruise ship in the inland passage from Whittier, Alaska, to Vancouver, British Columbia. We were there just long enough to go through Customs & board a bus to travel to Seattle, Washington.

My fellow Americans, I have tasted Pavlova! Of course, it wasn't one of Gail's legendary Pavlovas, but one made on board the ship for a last-day dessert spread. It was YUMMY! Gail, have you shared your recipe in our Sudokuland cookbook?

I hope everyone is healthy again and celebrated any birthdays/anniversaries to the fullest! It may take weeks for me to catch up on reading comments, as we leave Friday for about a week or so to help rebuild the deck (floor & railings only, we hope) for our D and SIL's house. I will check in as often as possible.

Lantra

Bean, sook! No, the mulching's not finished, but my shoulder just about is. We have edged all the beds in the backyard, and mulched the small beds in the middle but have all the outer beds to do. The azalea bed looks great, just have to plant the news ones to replace the dead ones, and the standard gardenia.

I COULD share my pav recipe Julie, but then I would have to kill you all to preserve the illusion that mine is the best! (Will post it soon)
Great to see you back, sounds like you had a wonderful time. I tell you what though, seems like the more people retire, the less time they have to play here! Don't work too hard.
