Julie, I know exactly how you feel about the amount of yrdnual to be done after a holiday, there always seems to more than you would usually do. It took me 4 days to catch up after a weeks holiday last time. Fortunately when we go to Florida in October we are staying with a relative so should be able to do it while we are there.

Brenda, I've just realised that if you go to Florida in October, then go home via Oz, you could meet even more people.....

Suzy, I wish that could happen. It would be the a long way round to get back home though. The flight to Florida from here is 11 hours.
Another year I may get out to Oz for a visit, but it would have to be for more than the two weeks we are going to Florida.

Brenda, the story of the guy with steel ones: When I was 17 I dated an older man for a few months - he was, gasp, 20! He dumped me during my exams to go back to his old girl friend. When I was at Uni he called me up again. I gave him another shot (he was pretty good looking back then). He was seeing his next door neighbour during the week (I was in Sydney, he was down here). I dumped him this time. A while after that I started going out with another guy. John Doe heard about it, dressed up in his finest, took me down to the river bank and proposed. What do you think my answer was? I moved on, he married someone. I was working in Sydney and got another call from him. He invited me out to lunch. I couldn't resist - I had to know what he was up to... He was still married, and asked me out!!!!!

When I flew home from Europe it took 24 hours. One hour from Frankfurt to Heathrow - 6 hours at Heathrow, 8 hours to Singapore, 8 hours to Bahrain, 8 hours to Sydney... Hey, that's more than 24 hours! And I think it was Bahrain, Singapore, not the other way around...

I left out the bit where I found out about the neighbour because her boyfriend trashed the exes flat!

I've been talking to Richard's cousin on Skype, I asked her if there was anything she wanted us to take out for her from the UK. So far she has only come up with three things. Jelly babies (sweets), Christmas pudding (she has to pay over the odds to get them from the English import shop) and a couple of Gollies. In her many moves throughout Canada, USA and Dominica, the gollies she had for her kids had gone missing. Her daughter is expecting a baby (or two) and she would like them to have a Gollie. For a few years over here you couldn't buy them as they were thought to be racist, but common sense has prevailed and they are starting to come back into the shops. We are luck to have a very generous baggage allowance so are able to take these things out for her.

Flights to Oz from here take 24 hrs or more depending on connection delays. That is why I said a holiday in Oz would have to be for longer than 2 weeks. I would think a couple of months would be good I'll have to start saving my pennies again.

Christmas pudding! I was soooo craving that when I was pregnant with Ebob. I found it in an English import shop too - at some incredibly outrageous price. If I remember correctly I bought it anyway - hey, I was pregnant!

I could eat Christmas pudding at any time. When they come into Aldi's shop I will stock up on them, they are fairly cheap and a really nice and have a long shelf life too. I think I have one in the cupboard which I bought in 2007 it's shelf life hasn't passed yet.

Suzy, I had to abandon the computer to take Em to the hairdressers to have her hair cut before she goes away to uni on Sunday.
That guy had a problem, though he must have had good taste in going after you . I feel sorry for his wife, his sort never change.

Rolanda a trip to Oz is on my to do list. As I said I will have to save lots of pennies.
I've just worked out that just paying for things Em needs to take with her has cost me nearly £1000 this week. OUCH

Hi All,
Stella, Happy Anniversary.Bet you are wondering where all the years have gone?
Stella, I relate to Hubby taking half or all the credit for jobs you have been the main one to accomplish.
Lovely to see Julie back. We did the Alaska trip about 13 years ago. Loved the White Pass railway. The whole trip was fascinating.
Suzy, hope Hubby is soon feeling less sore. Unfortunately it will take a while for your pockets to recover. Any chance of some relief teaching?
Bean, did you and Judy get any work done on your garden?
Brenda we can help you keep accommodation costs down while you are in Sydney.

Had a lovely evening last night. D1's dance group had made it to the final of the "School Rock Eisteddfod Challenge" final in the Sydney Entertainment centre. (It is a dance competition among High Schools). There were 15 schools who made the final and there were some fantastic productions. (each one had to go for a maximum of 6 or 8 minutes). 'Our' school was wearing the dresses I have been helping make over the last two years. They were not placed in the top 5 but it is a school in a relatively disadvantaged area and they did well to make the final.

Have a safe trip Gail.
We have had Ken's cousin staying for a couple of days (she was catching with her Auntie..MIL) and we all went out to lunch today in a nice place looking over part of the Harbour. It was a beautiful sunny day and the view was as good as the food. Both great!

Just dropping in to say goodnight and catch up on everyone.. Have been snoozing in front of the tele... I need to finish up in the kitchen and get to bed.

June... yes... Judy and I did get a couple of hours done in the garden. I can now see the garden where I plan to plant my asparagus ...YAY... thank you Judy...

I've been pruning roses and have and have a few puncture wounds despite wearing gloves... It was a beautiful afternoon in the garden... did get a bit hot with all the exertion. Hope to get a lot more done tomorrow.

Hoping everyone is very well. Things are shaping up in the addition - could we actually be moving in? ...keeping my fingers crossed for 2 to 3 more weeks. Going to order carpet on Monday.
Will take some more recent pictures to share (over the weekend).
Dropped in without reading - hope everyone is well and happy. Hugs!

Hi All...Seems much is to be celebrated today...schools reopening, Julie's return from a great trip, Stella and Mr. Stella and Heidi and Mr Heidi celebrating many years of marriage, Vici's and Bean's garden restorations, and possible move into the addition for Vici, and birthday celebrations for Broni and Jane....wow!!! Now if we can only get the sick ones to recovery, we'd be into something...Oh ell, we'll keep our eyes on that prize as we enjoy the rest....Have a blessed day/night doing something that makes you and others feel good.
