Great TOPP, Cyn! MMMM, yummm, brownies! Please make some for us here, too, Tami! At least virtual ones (with no calories).

Julie - good idea to tell Gath. That's right - even though we're over 400 pages, I haven't noticed any problems so far - no blank screens etc.

Morning folks...
Lot's of talk to catch up since I retired last night...
Julie ...I think you look beautiful today... this avatar is one of my favourites.
Cyn I am glad to hear that your son is doing ok.
Tami I don't have time to try and work out that identity... life is too hectic for those imponderables... please let me know when you decide not to be so evasive. Mildly curious here.
I just have a thought for you all to ponder...do you think we should all get our feathers ruffled by a troublemaker in our midst.... I mean to say... this is exactly what they are trying to achieve. They are no doubt finding this all highly amusing. It is no fun if such silly pranks aren't noticed or are ignored.
We all know now to double check if we are on the right page and if we all ignore the other page it will disappear from view... I am not sure how long they will stay before disappearing to the archives if there are no posts.
Remember DNFTT!!!

Hi Rola.
Thanks everybody for all your good wishes for Lachies birthday yesterday. I know he won't thank you in person. I think I have already said that we had a great day and it was topped with a wonderful call from Auntie Vici...
She and Mike had an extremely exhausting day yesterday getting everything ready for the carpet to go down today ... arc's and skirts to finish, painting etc.... I hope she is now sitting back admiring a completed hassle free installation... Cannot wait to see the pictures!
Wasn't up to going to the doctor today to get my results... very tired and achy after yesterday. I am going to rest today and try again tomorrow.
And now I am out of here ...have a good one everyone.

Someone just alerted me to this site by email - take a look - it's 50 pages of photos, about 3-4 a page but worth browsing through for the OMG factor:
http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/
We don't have Walmart here in Oz (yet) but we Aussies know exactly where we would encounter these people/freaks here.

How often do we go to the shopping centre (mall) and see people dressed inappropriately or in T-shirts with completely inappropriate foul slogans on them. A pet peeve of mine.

Oh, my, CynB! I have looked at the people of walmart site. Fortunately, I have never seen such sites on the occasions when I have been in a walmart. It sure doesn't speak well for people in the U.S. Please don't judge all of us by what you see there!

Not ruffled Bean, and certainly didn't mean to start anything up, just was putting the word out there. Besides, it has given us all something else to talk about and something else for others to read...can't be bad.

Julie - I don't think it's a judgement on the people of the US - as I said we see around here too - I'm sure they're everywhere - we just don't want to see them.

I know what you mean petal...just feel that
it is best to allow oneself to be tolerably amused rather than highly indignant at this act... I had noted you had merely asked a question...
Mountains and molehills etcetera, etcetera....
Cyn...most of those photo's are gross. Some are wickedly funny [not a lot]

Well Hia everyone -- Have had a real laugh reading all the posts and checking out that site, OMG, I dont think that quite covers it, don't these people have someone at home to say to them, "not a good look" would make one stop shopping and run away, hey that might even be a good thing for me, as I'm a shopaholic, ha ha

Cyn - Like our Bean - I was glad to hear your son is OK. Keeping your family in my prayers.
Our carpet is in - just some touch-up painting to do...it looks wonderful. Only one problem: the transition from the carpeting into the master bath's marble didn't hook up perfectly, so Mike had to drop in a couple of transition wood pieces that aren't the wood color we want (they match our hardwood floors) - but we were glad he had something to put in place so the carpet could be installed. He will replace it with Maple that matches the cabinets when he has time to make the pieces.
Hoping to get pictures and post them over the weekend.

Evening all!
I'm finally home for the evening. I haven't been to look at the WalMart photos yet but I'm guessing it wouldn't be much different to stuff I see in this town almost every day. At least every pension day. Just yesterday we saw a fight between 2 women - well one was beating up on another who was trying to walk away. That isn't an every day occurence and I found it a bit upsetting. When I mentioned that to Ebob she said she guessed she saw too much of it because it didn't bother her that much...

Hey Suzy! Got me curious as a cat re: your exhausting evening. Hope you have a peaceful nights rest. I haven't been able to sleep well for weeks. I think I'm too excited to sleep.
Hope I'm so exhausted by the time I fly out to Melbourne that I sleep almost the whole way.

Nola - great news re: your glasses - for you and for all the other drivers in your neighborhood!
I hope you get some cute frames that you really like. I think glasses can be fun, but I hate that I can't read anymore without them...have dozens placed all over the house, in the car, in my purses. Oh what a joy to grow old!

Vici, when we flew out of LA our flights always left late at night (around 10pm) which meant we would end up sleeping most of the way. They landed around 6am which was perfect. It doesn't work out as well going in the opposite direction though....

My afternoon/evening - where do I begin...
Ebob was being picked up from bowling to head to Wollongong ready for the country championships which begin early tomorrow morning. I picked the girls up from school with her stuff already in the trunk/boot. She had sent me a text telling me that she had accidentally taken her baseball bag to school, but all was cool as she would leave it with the deputy to look after for the day. I promptly forgot that - as, apparently, did she. We went to bowling from school. Around 5.45pm, she suddenly remembered that she hadn't picked up her baseball gear. Even the principal doesn't work that late on a Friday night before school holidays! I called every one I knew who might know someone who would have a key, as did a friend's mother. After a while we found a wonderful teacher who was willing to return to school to give it a try. Ally and I headed off to the school while Ebob waited for a ride - but the teacher's key didn't work. I had another number for a caretaker that a friend of a friend had given me. He would be willing to meet me at the school to get the stuff - at 10am tomorrow morning. I headed back to the bowling alley and called the people Ebob will be staying with (these people work so they can play baseball) and they think they can come up with enough stuff to get her through until then. In the meantime, the people who were supposed to pick her up around 6 from the bowling alley, had sent a text that they would be there around 7. At 5 past I had to take Ally home as she had rehearsal starting at 7.30. When we got home I called Ebob and they still hadn't arrived. I told her to send a text to her father as soon as they arrived and asked her father to keep a watch out so she wasn't stranded at the alley all night if they didn't show. I took off to rehearsal with Ally, they had costume fittings before they even started rehearsing so didn't finish until 10.30. I finally got home, found out Ebob had been picked up, hubby fed Ally who had missed out on dinner in all the cuffuffle, and then I came here...

Vici, I'll drive up to Wollongong (a bit over an hour) after I get her stuff tomorrow, watch some games (if they aren't rained out) then head home to have dinner and see David Campbell with friends. Sunday Ally is supposed to be singing (again if it isn't rained out), then Monday will be heading back up to Wollongong to watch more baseball. Tuesday I think I'm supposed to be going to Wollongong again, only this time to look for a dress for the formal. Wednesday I can take a deep breath and relax! No school, no plans....
