I can use the sprinklers on my garden today. (we here in the West can use our sprinklers twice in the week, depending on your house #. My days are Tuesday and Friday. and because I have a bore, I have an extra day, Sunday.)
Not allowed to use the sprinklers between the hours of 9.00am - 6.00pm. But can hand water during those hours, including your non watering days.

Good evening all. Spending way too much time on the other page. It is so much fun though. I have a holiday on Wednesday and will be meeting Brenda and Richard for ice cream. Found out that Wednesday, 11-11, is Richard's birthday so we will get to celebrate it with them. Looking forward to a nice day out.

I have read the book of 'The Time Traveller's Wife'not sure if I want to see the movie.
Just before we left for Florida I read 'My Sister's Keeper' this was one of the films on the flight. I was most disappointed as the film was nothing like the book and the ending was totally differrent from the book. Would recommend the book as a good read.

MIL is improving but she had a fall in hospital and they are going to keep her for another day or so. She was admitted on Friday. Funny how a couple of nights can easily turn into a week! It is far too hot for her to be getting out... it is 38C [100F] currently here in my back yard. A bit too warm for me to go and join them for lunch... that is if I could wake up... all I want to do is sleep! [heat or sinusitis... take your pick...who knows!] Tomorrow is going to be much cooler. THANK GOODNESS.

Brenda have you read any other books by Jodi Picoult? [spelling?] She is one of my favourite authors. I haven't read the 'The Time Traveler's Wife' Would you recommend the book or was it so bad you decided to give the film a miss?
Thought to ponder... are there any films that aren't a disappointment c/w the book?

So, Judy, what's with the arm??????? Enquiring minds need to know, hopefully a good story, huh???

Hi all - back from the movie. I had not read the book and don't know now if I will. I would not say I didn't like the movie (Time Travellers Wife, for anyone who missed my earlier post) but I didn't love it either. I was with Karin and my friend Lyn - and 3 more pedantic women in one place you would not find. We kept whispering to another, picking holes in it. It was romantic in parts, it had dark moody lighting and sets and it was sad but there was a lot left unexplained. For anyone who has read the book or seen the film - if I say 'What came first - the chicken or the egg?' - you may understand!

To those at the farewell lunch for Vici today - I hope you're having/have had a great time.
Vici - if I don't get the chance later, have a safe trip home to Mike. It was a joy and a privelege to meet you. You were all I expected and more. I hope you take home only happy memories of Australia and the people you met here.

Evening all!
I heard that it was very hot in SA and Melbourne today.

I'm sad Vici is going home already. It feels like she just got here.... Don't go Vici!!!!!!

Bean, does your MIL have air conditioning? If not, the fall was a good thing as they say it won't start to cool down again until Saturday. Maybe the climate change sceptics could visit Melbourne this week.

Blonde moment: Today I was on the phone to Mum and she asked if we wanted to take her dog as he is too much for her to handle (keeps escaping) with her hip replacement coming up and she thinks he would be happier here with our dogs to keep him company. I said I would talk to Don and get back to her. 30 minutes later I called her back and said 'what was that you said about your hip????????'

Hi All. Temps rising in Florida again. Sounds as if Vici has had a great time meeting everyone. I am green with envy, even though I have met up with our own TTT and her mother and of course Debby from Michigan. Meeting Tami and the boys tomorrow for icecream. We only have a few more days here too and could do with more time. We will have to save up for another trip over.

Bean I have read at least two other Jodi Picoult novels.. Vanishing acts and Plain Truth, I may have read more but cannot think of them at the moment. Having read the book it of The Time Travellers Wife I think it must have been a hard movie to follow.

I took Laura into the City today to see the decorations in DJ's window. Automation puppet of Christmas Carols. When we changed trains at Wynyard it was just 11am and they were playing the last post. Everyone was standing still and they even held the train until it was finished. I was most impressed.

Boy, can a four year old ask questions. Why is baby Jesus got hay to sleep on? Wouldn't he get cold? Why doesn't the man (Shepperd) take the sheep into the shed and not sleep on the grass? Why does he have a camel? and on and on and on!!! There were six windows all with different Christmas Carols depicted.
