I am doing good Broni. I am enjoying my two week vacation, although I did bring a bunch of papers home to grade. I have neighborhood kids that will help. High school students need to earn community service hours to graduate. If they grade papers for me, I can sign off hours. There are 2 girls nearby that help and that I trust. It does not count for my kids though, that is helping mom.

Got to sleep in while IH is off at his church, narrating at their Christmas pageant.
The dogs finally woke me up barking at some cats that were tainting them.

Is Gath on Christmas vacation? He hasn't approved any smilies in days. (At least not for me.... but maybe he thinks I have enough).

I haven't heard anything about Gath being away but it is more than likely as he is usually pretty fast.

It is quite cool here this morning.23c or 74f.Bit of a change from the humid hot weather we have been having and I even have a cardigan on.
Could not imagine being in the snow country, but as I have said before,it would be lovely to experience at least 1 white christmas.

Nola, I am glad I live in the south. I am watching the news and seeing everything covered in snow and No Thanks. I don't think I need a white winter. Sunshine and palm trees are fine with me.

Morning SA7. Up early here but thought I would try to log in my Avon order but still cannot do it. They must be having trouble. Will ring them at 9am as it is supposed to be logged by 6am this morning. I agree Nola, would be nice to experience 1 white christmas but we have no hope of that here.

Nola, your brother is about an hour from Kathy in Valrico. All times are approximate depending on traffic and who is driving. I am sure he is going to have a wonderful vacation. If you are ever visiting Florida, make sure you tell me.

Like some of you I always thought it would be nice to see a white Christmas. My daughter was living in Germany at the time so I went over at the end of November (Ken does not like the cold so a neighbour came with me). My aim was to see the Nuremberg Christmas Markets(lightly snowing). We also went to Prague(-6c) and saw their markets and then to London(Light snow the day we landed) to see the lights. We did get back home a few days before Christmas but had experienced the preparation and atmosphere of the Christmas season.

That sounds like a nice trip you took June. I have never been able to travel at this time of year. I worked in retail for a long time and when I switched my husband "took my place". Now that I can travel at this time, he can't. Someday we want to take the kids to see snow, but I don't want to live in it.

Tami, we did not travel overseas until our family had grown up and left school. (other than when we took them all to NZ). Our long summer holidays are in January so a better time to stay in Australia.

Morning all! Dropping in without reading...

Last night was wongerful! Ally sang her heart out and there were no signs of nervousness at all! It seemed to be a record crowd - probably 1000s of people! Wish you could have been there!

Bonus last night - you probably remember me venting about the girls who were swearing at Ally at school the day she came home and cried so hard it physically hurt???

Two of them were there. These two went down almost to the stage and stood there arms folded watching her. (I discovered later they were also calling out her name). They were hard to miss with big Xmas hats on etc. I was furious - if they ruin this for her etc.

The bonus - it was like they weren't even there!!! She was brilliant!

Morning Broni... Mum has disappeared to help a friend for a few minutes so I've snuck in. She is nagging me to go shopping early (an hour ago). If I do the same thing to my kids you have my permission to hit me about the head and say STOP IT!

I would have liked to have been there, though........ to follow those 2 thugs outside and make their lives miserable.
I know... bad Heidi. Not in the Christmas spirit.
I'm back inside trying to defrost. My face feels so cold that I can barely feel it. It's 22 F, but with the wind chill, it's approaching 0 F!!!! (~ -17 C)
