I've just been out laying some more 'transferred' grass and feeding that horrible machine - hope the forecast is right!! Very mundane and normal, which feels weird with everything else that is going on.

Hi everyone! I have 6 or 7 guys in my backyard, cutting holes in my fence and revving their engines to cut down our BIG pine-tree. It's huge! I think it was planted when this area was all orchards - the house next door is the original farmhouse (which means it is a "listed" property and cannot be substantially altered) So, a day of noise - and a little bit of worry! (will something crash down on my head as I type ...???) Nah! She'll be apples! (as they say in the classics)
Which is odd, as it IS a pine tree!

Hello, All! Still catching up on reading here. Gail, I'm glad you and Scott had a nice anniversary. Now you just need to take one day at a time. Susan, it's so good to hear that FIL came out of surgery hungry. It's a good sign. I hope he has a full recovery back to pre-cyst days! Heidi, I hope your back, mouth, and stomach are all feeling better. I had a brainstorm the other day and realized that I'm sure the reason IH got you a rake (identical to one you already have) for Christmas was because HE wants to share in all the raking to come!!! You can just treat him as if that's the case and every time you take out a rake, hand him the other one.

And of course, CRAFT's disease has set in. So all the best to everyone!

Gail - as if you needed any more trauma and worry! So sorry for your son - what incredibly bad luck. Thinking of you - sympathy and love to you all.

Gail, I'm so sorry to hear about the injury to your son. I hope his "repair" surgery goes well! Glad your DIL can keep you posted on the progress! The idea to video the funeral is a good one!

Heidi, I'm glad to hear your hired help is helping, since IH isn't!

I experience the white page of doom repeatedly last night. Things seem to be better today. Knock on wood.

Julie, I had a lot of trouble yesterday - my posts would just disappear. In the end we lost internet access completely for several hours, till my son came home and managed to fix it for me (thus saving me from having to do housework!)

Judy, what a wonderful son you have!

I'm off to fling food. I hope to get back later.

I'm doing better than I was. The mouth only hurts if I touch it, so I don't. The back is calming down, too. I just finished feeding the critters outside. I hate it that they're out in this weather, but then I think that they evolved outside.

I just LOVE that Devil avatar, eaa. SO much cuter than our Opossums.

I think I'll pull a couple of steaks out of the freezer for supper. BRB.
