I was waiting for you to go over MizT. It's getting embarrassing - makes me look like a chatter box. I know, I am one...
I'd love to see a photo of the gift bags...

No Heidi, off reading the news. I will have to disappear soon so I can take the girls up to the local showground to check out the Australia Day stuff. We go every year. As the girls are getting older I ask them if they want to go and the answer so far is still yes. Most of the stuff is aimed at younger people... apart from the award ceremony.

Suzy, saw your comments. Ian received the medal as an AM, and he is very proud of it. I'll send you a photo of him wearing it (and many others) that I'm sure he won't mind my sharing with you.

Just stopped in for a few minutes. Had to look up some info for Mitchell then have to grade papers. Hoping for the best in France. I know what Mother Nature's fury is like. I have had to deal with several hurricanes, luckily without major damage to my house, only the inconvenience of no electric for 8 days. Be back later.

Had a night "on the town" yesterday. Went into the city and wandered around the Saturday market on Southbank, then went off to see "The Thirty-Nine Steps". Wasn't sure what to expect - I mean, I read the book and didn't find it particularly amusing, so wondered how they'd turn it into a comedy. No sweat! It was absolutely hilarious! Four (and a half!) actors doing the whole show - haven't laughed so much in ages! And we had a yummy dinner to top it all off. :)

Heidi - put on an Abba CD - then you'll have them in your head for the rest of the day!!
I forgot, yesterday, when I mentioned Norman Gunston that he started out on Aunty Jack and proceeded to his own shows!

Heidi, it IS a very catchy tune! And I have to admit I had a bit of a "thing" for Thin Arthur way back in the 70s!

So, Judy, is this 'Thirty Nine Steps' a stage play? I haven't heard of it (as a play) but had to study the book at school and have seen the old movie - with Robert Donat if I remember correctly. It sounds interesting but I can't imagine it as a comedy either - will keep my eye out for it. Remember, we in Brisbane wait a year or two after Sydney and Melbourne to get any stage shows - cultural wasteland - that's us!
