Good morning all! Don't have time to catch up. I have to pack, go to church, have hubby load the van and as soon as Brendan gets back from Boston, we're off to New Jersey to bring him back to school. Then I'm heading to Long Island to spend a couple of days with my mom. Then back on Wednesday in time for phys therapy.

Suzy - after tomorrow, I'm putting Billy's 'It's almost Sunner' back on my - it's my nostalgia trip. Holidays at the beach as a child, we had a house at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, all my cousins would be there and we ate watermelon all day and fresh fish we'd caught at night. We'd be brown as berries, swim all day etc etc. Then when I became a teenager, we'd load up the surfboards and do the whole Puberty Blues scene with our friends..... Oh, the joy, oh the bliss - it's almost summer.

VICI, lovely Australia Day graphics you found! You done good!

GOOD Maen Sudokuland! I may have to interrupt my valentines avatars for my sun avatars. That may be only place to see the sun for a WEEK if forecasts are true. Clouds and rain, rain and clouds for 7 days. OK rain is good, but not all at once! Let's save some for mid summer please.

I need to see if I can find more than a mention of what damage was gone to the Florida crops by that Arctic Air that made it's way through the state. Produce prices will soar if they were damaged, we get most of our produce and citrus from Florida.

TAMI, did you see any local news about the crops?

JUNE so glad Ken's leg is better, and hope it continues to improve. Enjoy your day at bowls.

June ..so glad Hubby is on the mend.
At christmas time on the radio,I heard Rolf Harris singing "Six white boomers",it brought back memories of Mum dancing around the lounge with brother and I.Another one I liked was "Tie me kangaroo down sport"

STELLA, have a safe trip! Enjoy time with your Mom, too.

I am trying to sew. Friend introduced me to fabric gift bags, and if I start now, I might have some for Christmas! Make a few for Birthdays also, I plan to use "orphan blocks", those of you who do patchwork might know what I mean. A test block you did, or one that is not good enough for your quilt, a tad to large or small, but used individually as decoration on a bag, it is just fine!

Recycle those blocks!

Off to draft a pattern for these 2 bags.

The only thing I have mastered is knitting.

Hubby still hasn't had a chance to get into the septic pipes with all this rain around. It feels a little cooler this morning but the humidity will pick up if the sun comes out.
Poor Broni will be pulling her hair out not being able to paint the boat.
Heidi..your new little black and white lamb sounds cute with those colours.

We had a lot of fun with our friends and it was a nice way to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I will be back later. We are taking the Beastie Boys to a movie this afternoon.

CynB and June... GREAT VIDEOS AND SONGS!!!!! Thanks for sharing them!
Suzy.... it sounds like Tip Tap is back to his old cheerful self!
June... you know full well that if Ken HADN'T gone to the Hospital, the leg would have kept getting worse. A lot of it can be psychological. Once he made up his mind to get proper care, his outlook changed and his brain sent different messages to the leg and immune system. I know how that works with sheep. (quite a similarity to men) Their life and death depends on their outlook. Once they quit, they're doomed.

The colours are amazing....

A peewee just thought about walking through our back door but then it noticed me and did an about face!

I have been looking up the Order of Australia levels. I'm ashamed to say that I have never tried to remember which is the highest of the honours. For those of you who are slack like me.

Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) - eminent achievement and merit of the highest degree

Officer of the Order (AO) - distinguished service of a high degree

Member of the Order (AM) - service in a particular locality or field of activity or to a particular group

Medal of the Order (OAM) - service worthy of particular recognition

This year 3 people have been made AC, 26 people AO, 129 people AM and 405 people AOM. At least that's how many search results I got when I searched each of the awards. I looked that up because the news articles only mention the top awards and people we might know. For example, Marcia Hines AM...

Heidi, he said he was 'only' something, so I suspect either a medal or member... but I don't remember which. If I knew his last name I could do a search as I have the page up.
