CynB - I think the show's been around for a while, and was brought back for a rerun season. It was a complete send-up of all those old crime/spy movies, with minimal scenery, quick changes, weird accents, funny hat routines, and a hero whose upper lip couldn't have been stiffer! And Hitchcock gags all the way through, though I'm sure I missed a lot.

CynB, Thin Arthur was the one with the long curly hair and striped lycra pants - he played guitar and sang.

I'm gonna do a 'Aunty Jack on Tami so she will be armless.

Oh, I fully remember Thin Arthur, Judy - it was more of a EEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!! comment.

Actually, I think Rory (Thin Arthur) is cute NOW.

By the way, I'm not sure if anyone mentioned Milo in their lists of Australiana. "It's marvellous what a difference Milo makes!"
And were any of these mentioned: Blue Hills. Homicide. Cop Shop. Division 4. Consider Your Verdict. Skippy. A Country Practice. Number 96. Rush. Actually, going through the list of "Classsic Australian TV", there were many pretty good Australian shows back in the seventies (ok, along with some real rubbish!)

Heidi - Graham Bond (Aunty J) went on to become a presenter on a lifestyle show - I think it was 'Better Homes and Gardens', one of those dreary things, such a comedown from comedy.
I'm sure I'll get jumped on from a great height for saying that by lifestyle fans amongst us. Sorry.

Looking throught the lists of shows, what saddens me a bit is seeing how many top class children's shows there were, compared with some of the rubbish that's around now.

I was going to bed but started to add contacts to my new mobile.
Yes we got Sons and Daughters, H&A, Neighbours, Prisoner, Flying Doctor and many more Aussie programs

D#1 and I enjoy Neighbours never really watched H&A
Sadly husband is a soap addict so we watch Corrie and Eastenders too

Doubt I would sleep anyway as I never do the first night Richard is away

And to top it all I remembered where I had a bar of chocolate hidden.... bad girl Brenda you are on a diet

My niece and her husband's wedding yesterday was lovely. A great time was had by all.

Well I really am going to be this time, heating has gone off and my toes are feeling chilly

It was hot to start with, but got quite chilly as the night progressed. had to dance to warm ourselves up!!!
Just had a squizz through the photos I took. I will ask for my niece's permission to put one or two up on my page. That might take a while!!!

I must go now too. There is a barby at the house of a friend of the MOB (mother of the bride, my sister). Still have all the hair gunk in so better shower and try to unglue it!

The only Australian kids show I remember (from my own childhood) was "Skippy, the Bush Kangaroo".

My deepest apologies to eaa. I would like to say it was just me causing more trouble but in all honesty it was just a typo. I was up late last night and was then woken up by the dog and did not sleep much. I am tucking myself in shortly and will fix the mistake tomorrow.

eaa - were you an Argonaut? I loved that show! Still have my badge and membership certificate somewhere - I was Polydorus 19. I used to listen every day, cos we were weird and didn't have TV!
I guess that explains a lot!
