My connection has dropped down to snail speed - not even dial up speed - whaaaaa! I had to close most of my tabs.... I wonder what happened! Looks like I'm off the internet for now..

My sister has a wonderful rose garden, mostly inherited when they bought their house a year ago. They are off to Adelaide for a holiday tomorrow so, rather than waste the blooms she picked them all for me. I now have a huge vase of about 24 assorted roses on my bench and they smell delightful. I love roses!

Okay - now is when we need Gail's suggestion about smiley storage or folders implemented. I have so many Christmas and Australia Day ones that will not be needed for 10-12 months. And they're mixed up with everything else and I can't find a thing.

Just back from watching the fireworks - Yay! Very prettiful! We are lucky that we don't have to worry about parking - just a few minutes walk to the Civic Centre. Good music and beautiful shiny lights - Happy Australia Day! :)

I could hear the ones in Sydney but too many houses and trees to be able to see them. I would need a two story house and to sit on the roof.
Enjoyable day at the bowling club but did not win anything. Hubby's leg is still swollen and sore and he is still coughing but no where as bad as Saturday night.
Might go and get some sleep. Playing in a bowls competition tomorrow and expect to go down in a big heap!!! Very fine rain here at the moment.

Hi all. It looks like Gath's killed my membership even though I sent a cheque weeks ago, so I can't use all my Aussie smileys that I spent ages finding and editing. Bummer. I hope everyone had a great Australia Day. I've been caught up in lots of stuff, but hope to get back soon. Take care.

I just went to Update Details and changed avatar, traveled the pages just fine, we will see if I was successful with the change. Perhaps Gath had a chance to correct that little glitch.

Susan, sorry you lost member status, I hope Gath can find your check and restore your privileges. I was being kicked out every 6 months when mine auto renewed, cause Pay Pal renewed it by USA dates, and Gath cut us off by Aussie dates. Know what it is like ! When you get membership back, use them anyway, we will all cheer for Australia again with you!

Heidi, just saw the photos of your birds. they are so colorful they look artificial, if you know what I mean. When do the pretty birdies arrive? BTW, has Gil noticed the cage in the foyer yet? Perhaps when there is chirping and movement he might notice.

SUZY, borrow a kid for the afternoon, a neighbors child, a relative, anyone will do. then take said small child to the movies. I am sure the Mom would appreciate the break from child care and you would not look 'unusual' going to cartoons alone hehehe

OK, must go to kitchen and make a bit of noise, see if I can wake sleeping beauty! We need to go for groceries today. I KNOW he can=me in from the office early last night, I was still awake. I also have no idea when he went to sleep ( been having sleepless nights lately) because I see the computer in the OLD office is on, and I do not think it was on yesterday. Is that a clue he was up late here on that computer?

Hello, Everyone! It's a sunny morning in Massachusetts! This is just a quick pop in to say Good Morning and Happy Australia Day! No time to read or comment or do puzzles, but hope to pop in again during the week!

Sitting here waiting for the pest control guy to come from the council. We saw a rat in the garden on Saturday afternoon. My neighbour had mentioned that her son thought that they had one living under their shed. she mustn't have called the pest control.
I have had to stop feeding the wild birds which is a shame.

Pest control guy has been, baited a couple of places and will come back next week. Unfortunately the horrible animal has been using the compost bin as a cafe, so cannot put anything in there for a while. Then we will have to concrete a base for the bin so nothing can get in from the bottom

Brenda, your local government hunts for rats? I have to have kitties to do that job! They kill mice with ease, but have been seen with an occasional rat. "I hate miecess to pieces". (they rhyme, not sure of the spelling)

Julie, did I miss something? you are in Massachusetts? Hope you are enjoying!

MizT,yes they will come and poison bait for rats free of charge. Everything else they charge for eg mice, wasps, squirrel etc.
I can handle catching mice but rats are another thing uggghhhhhhh
