Stella, congratulations to your niece on the birth of her big boy. Hope they are both doing well.
My son Andrew was roughly the same size as Liam Joseph when he was born. He is now over 6ft tall with very large feet (UK shoe size 11/12)

Hello, thought I should check in and let you all know I am alive and well. Been busy with school and everything else. Winter is getting to me. Hubby doesn't work in the snow so he is home all day making me crazy. Mind you, this year he is encouraging Amber to do her school work instead of letting her get out of it. I found an art program she likes so now she eagerly gets her work done so she can do art. I love a good bribe!

My Hubby will probably be home today also,as we have had yet more rain over night. It just won't let up for him to do fix the septic pipe either. And I just wont mention the LAWN.
At least the rain water tank is overflowing.

Stella, congratulations on the birth of your grt nephew! Sending best wishes to your niece!
You made me laugh. No, they don't have to eat standing up, though some do. There are benches spread around their playground areas for them to sit on.

Nola, congrats on being done with the dentist. Hope the doc appointment goes well!!
The rain arrangements at the high school are a pet peeve of mine (I have lots of pet peeves!). The kids have an allocated place to go when it rains. Last year Ebob's allocated place was a corridor in one of the buildings - no seats, elbow room very limited...

Bean, I just checked the overnight lows for Mum and found 30C/86F!!! Hang on, I'll check Melbourne.... I see you didn't get your wish. The overnight low is listed as 29.1C/84F - bugger! I hope you managed to get some sleep! I'm not worried about Mum, she would have had her AC going all night.

It's amazing! The mist is rolling into our yard. It has gone from a few wisps at the bottom of the back fence to making the trees look ghostly. Really beautiful! And cool to walk in....

I just heard on the news that at 6am, it is already 37 in Adelaide and they are warning about hydrating the kids elderly and pets.
When we lived there,if it was 35 for 3 consecutive days, school was closed as they didn't have aircon.

Back in about '82 we were in Adelaide for U/18 baseball championship and they had a week of very hot weather, day and night. Not so much air conditioning about then. The poor boys from Tasmania wondered what had hit them! Actually we were all exhausted by the heat and getting very little sleep at night.

SUZY, enjoy that empty house today. Just what are you going to try to do today?
Anyone heard from Heidi? I am thinking their power is out, lots of that in Kentucky. and it is COLD up there, 25 F going for 15 tonight, brrrr, I would hate to be without power in those temps, did that once and it was hard work keeping warm, cause if you have forced air heat, which is common here, it does not work in power outages!

Doctor was happy with my numbers today, wants to put me on co Q 10 for my back, and it can help with BP and with Blood sugar also, OK, I can take that, I am about to order it now, cannot find locally at the dosage he wants me to have.
Squishy report was good, no change in 6 months, and they now say it is fibrocystic disease. nothing new, knew I had that, just no caffeine.
Our temps have dropped here 20 degrees since I got up today. going down another 10 or 15 , no doors and windows open today! Currently 42 (5C) going for 32 (0 C)

Morning SA7. Port Macquarie has been very warm but not as hot as all of you who live in Victoria, South Australia.
Hope you get a cool change soon.

Tricia, pleased everything went OK with the Doctor. Keep warm. We are looking at about 33*c in Sydney for the next 4 days so that is bearable when you compare with Melbourne. Except they will have dry heat and we will have more humidity.
Guess we will just have to wait to hear from Heidi.

We had 32c yesterday with a humidity reading of 88%. A few chores to do here and then off to do some messages. Will catch up with John today. This weather is knocking him about. I have my Avon due tomorrow so will be busy then.

I agree Suzy. I am glad I am here. This is too hot for me lately so I would not fare well in those temps. Glad to hear your girls have started school again okay.
Ethan goes back tomorrow. He is at the beach now as usual. His dad took him down at 7am and I pick him up after coffee and crosswords.
Today this will be about 12.30 as hubby wants the car this arvo.
Ethan did a couple of hours yesterday at the school. He did a peer support course and so he was there yesterday to help the new Year 7's.

To cut a long story short I am not popular with Ethan as I approached his boss about them taking money out of their pay for making mistakes.
They cannot do this, it is illegal, unless the kids have signed a written agreement with the employer to allow them to do it.
Ethan threw a hissy fit, complete with tears etc. and he said he has told her it is okay to do this. He said it is his job not mine and so I have washed my hands of the whole affair.
This is just a small portion of what has gone on.
I will not bore you with any more.

Snap Viv! Ebob did the peer support thing too. She had to help the kids during their orientation last year, and this year they've changed her roll call so she can be in a group with her year 7 kids..
