CynB, just raced (ok trudged!) into my kitchen to look at the rolls of foil and clingwrap in my drawer - of the three I had there one does indeed have the little tabs! I think the others are both older. Ain't that amazing - the wonders of the steam-age! (again!)

man o man! mother nature is pulling some major extremes on our sa family! i am feeling soooo bad for heidi! and the rest of you melting... sheesh! it was lovely here today. i looked after alison's twins all day. i am worn out! she really needed a day out of the house. i won't be volunteering to do that again in the near future though. i don't know how mothers of mutiples do it all!!!??

gotta go get some much needed rest.

Judy..what had the tabs...mine don't. The cling wrap does have a strip to stop you losing the end but that doesn't stop it jumping out of the box.
Isn't it amazing what we get up to on hot days...

Bean, it's on a packet of Multix Alfoil. On one packet, but not the other, and I'm not even sure which pack is older. Perhaps it's actually de-evolving ... like my brain!

Ok, my connection is REALLY slow - I think Adam's used up all our time! I'd better go and do something "constructive" - though not cooking - I think I'm already haldway there! Definitely thinking take-away for tea! I am SO lazy! ;)

I spoke to my sisters in Geelong late yesterday arvo and it was 37 inside their house.

The change is just coming through Viv. I know Geelong got it a couple of hours ago so it must be a slow moving one. Hubby has opened the doors to try to get some of the heat out of the house!

Typical! Not one of my rolls has tabs! They must have seen me coming and put the old ones first!!!
I will, however, be checking them before I purchase from now on.

When I mentioned it to hubby, he almost beat me to the roll drawer. It must be his engineerical mind!

Have just spoken to Mary. She and Viv are sitting in air conditioned luxury in a cabin in Benalla, watching the cricket. Hard life for some hey?
She is looking forward to tomorrow and can't wait to meet us.

I have two unopened rolls of foil. Glad 30m and Multrix 30m and neither have tabs.

I can't believe it - every roll in my kitchen, cling wrap, foil, baking paper have the tabs! One doesn't tell you what to do with them, but the others do....

I posted that on easy too.

I'm not supposed to be here. Supposed to be taking Ally to practice, but it has been put back half an hour. Sigh.

I can't believe how much interest these tabs have caused, both here and on Easy. I, for one was amazed and slightly annoyed that the manufacturers don't tell us in their advertising!!! Actually, I'm going to find the Glad site and complain. If they don't know, they won't do anything about it, will they?

OK - email sent to the Glad company in Oz. Lets see if I get a reply. I told them to do it on all roll products AND to advertise it. I told them that no-one looks at those ends so no-one knew.

I cannot believe this - hubby was talking to SIL so I thought I'd ask to speak to my daughter to tell her the big news about the tabs. SHE KNEW! And had never told her mother, and thought I was a complete Looney Toon for even wanting to pass it on. My lips are sealed now - (but I will tell my sister tomorrow). I bet my son knows too. Kids!! Hmmmppphhh!

Tabs on foil and such, I have those on all my rolls. It has been publicized here, for free.Last week Vana White, on Wheel of Fortune game show (do Aussies get that program? the USA version?) talked about it one night at the end of the show, when they had to fill a bit of time. Next night, they actually had a roll to SHOW how to do it, so many in USA saw it.

BTW, they taped out the name of the product she was using, but the package is so distinctly colored, it was easily recognized as Reynolds Wrap hehehe

I just went and rechecked my two rolls and one does have the tabs, but as I take mine out of the box and put it in a holder it will not matter if the box has a tab or not.

I have just come inside from packaging up my Avon orders. I need a cool drink now and then should hit the sack I think.

I just found these, amateur photographers' photo's of the ice storm in KY. These are the pretty photos. Maybe looking will help the heat wave folks cool down some.

The downward sweep of trees and branches is not their normal shape, they have upright, skyward reaching branches. It is the weight of the snow that has done this. Some of the trees will recover and regain their shape. Some not.

Sleep tight Viv. I will be going soon. Busy night getting Girl settled. She will probably get up early so no sleep in for us.
