I know eaa, took me a while to realise where we were at in the count. I don't usually go for it but when Suzy hadn't, I thought I would.
I like your thinking Suzy, washing the car might work, but hanging out a load wouldn't...clothesline is UNDER the verandah!

Good evening
To add to the weather report, we have snow here now and it is very cold outside.
Good to hear that Heidi is surviving but not so good to hear that she has lost animals

I've had a few emails checking on me, so although I'm 50 pages behind with no chance of reading any time soon, I just wanted to let you know that I'm OK. The cyclone that was heading for our town has turned into a low, but we are expecting major flooding. We've had 1358mm (53.5") of rain and there are very strong winds. Schools, shops and highways are closed. We expect to get a little water in the bottom storey of our house, depending on further rain, but will be fine. Thanks for thinking of me.

Good morning lovely SA7 people.
MizT - thank you so much for the update on Heidi. Glad she's OK but so sorry about the animals particularly the old dog. Hope that next storm misses them. Manual can-opener here too. Bought an electric one once and hated it - but I have a you-beaut manual one that opens cans easily.

Susan - glad you checked in. I have been wondering about you. There's been so much talk about the cold in the US and the heat and bushfires in Victoria and SA, that the cyclone, rain and flooding in NQ has been forgotten. Hope the flooding doesn't get to you. I remember you saying that if it does it gets through to your ground floor. Fingers crossed not just for the safety of you and your family but that you don't have a messy flood clean-up - yechh!

These extremes of weather have made me realise how lucky I am to live in SE Qld - our main weather problem has always been severe storms.
It does make you worry about what's ahead for us!

Susan, glad the cyclone has not come. I am assume that your cyclone would be called a hurricane up here. I do not use an electric can opener either. During hurricane season, a manual can opener is on all supply lists. When one is on the way, the news always says "and make sure you have a manual can opener for your cans. electric will not work."
Glad to hear that Heidi is fairing well. She is resourceful and will always find a way.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a pipeline to move all that excess water from NQ into the dry and parched areas of our country? Or even to divert it into the ailing Murray/Darling river system?
Hey, I could help Gail and Judy's husbands solve the problems of the world!

Once there was a natural watershed of water flowing from North down through the centre of Australia. Many dams and irrigation is what is causing the problem with the Murray/Darling system.
Keep safe (and dry) Susan. How is your Mother getting on with the flooding.

I'm a bit teary at the moment - I am cleaning out old papers etc and found something that I had printed out because it made me laugh at the time. The wording has given me the shivers. I'll share it with you...
And Saint Peter said, "Suzy, why did you not get your paper written?"
"I was getting Topps."
"Topps huh? And did you post?"
"Oh yes, sir. I posted often."
"And if you had put as many words in your paper as you put in the posts..."
"I would have finished my paper."
"Do you remember someone named Ruby?"
"Vaguely."
"Well, she's here, waiting on you ... with her foot cocked."

MizT/Suzy - that Wunderground weather site is great isn't it?
Rolanda - the temps at Broni's would be the same as me. She lives in Redlands as well- in the north of the area, we live at the south of it - probably 20kms apart but both close to Moreton Bay. Our temps are usually 1-2deg lower than Brisbane because we're closer to the bay.

And if I have to fly down there I am making you pay for my airfare and put me up until you get it down. If I am there and you still don't get that paper done, I will send for the beastie boys and then you will have all three of us with our feet ready to give you a swift kick in the backside.
