Hi Brenda, at least showed you how he feels about you Brenda! It is an awful price to pay for a bit of paper with some words printed on it.

Stella, many years ago, my mother had both shoulders frozen, at different times mind you. She had them both 'manipulated' under general and she never had another problem with them. When they say surgery, it is not a cut procedure, they just move your shoulder in a way that you are unable to at the moment. I know she said it hurt for a little while afterwards but once the ache of the manipulation had gone, there were no negative after affects.

Hubby and I don't do cards or gifts for Valentines Day but I will tell a nice little story.
Colin and I met at work and began seeing each other but were being discreet there. Only a few close friends knew of our relationship. On V Day 1985, as he passed my desk before I arrived at work, no-one was around so he wrote on my desk pad 'Happy V Day, Sweetie", which I found later when I got to my desk. I still have that piece of paper. This morning he came up behind me, put his arms around my waist and whispered 'Happy V Day, Sweetie' - isn't he lovely?
back at you, sweetie!

He starts it on Tuesday, Gail - weather permitting. We are having torrential rain this morning and have water flowing through our shed and down the side of our house. We are not in a flood prone area, it's just coming down the hill behind us and out into our street and is mainly an inconvenience. Oh, how I wish we could transport it to Victoria for you. Supposed to clear tomorrow, so the job should go ahead as planned.

My question for the woman with the long nails, "how do you pick your nose?"
Did you expect me to ask something normal?

That would not be a problem I am sure Tami, as long as she kept her hand far enough away. There used to be a dress shop near here and the woman there had nails about 1 1/2 inches long. Cannot remember if they were that long on both hands!

Tami - Just for you, my TFTD
You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose.
But you can't pick your friend's nose!
That was the closest I could get to picking one's nose - I really don't want to go searching for a smiley for that!!

June, have you seen a picture of the woman? Her nails are each over 2 feet long. I wouldn't want to stick that up my nose.

Tami - you'd need to be a contortionist to try - her arms wouldn't be long enough!

Cyn, the image of that is enough to make me laugh. This is almost as good as the conversation I once had at about 2 am in the lingerie department at Macy's. I worked there and we were doing inventory. Let's just say, I am glad no men were present during the discussion.

Wow, some romantic husbands out there, and some not so romantic (working, forgetting...).
We have had a fun day, in a very non-romantic type way. We bought the girls some desks a couple of weeks ago. Today the desks are in their rooms and we have bought paint! I'm not sure about the colours, I let others pick and I'm so so about them. I figure at least it won't be beige! We got to the shop to pick the paint and all over the place were 20% off everything in store signs. Don't you love it when that happens??? If we'd known we would have forgotten to go...

News story of the day....
One lucky woman on Valentine's Day was Nicole Nault, who became engaged to her Sydney boyfriend Charlie Hopkins at Randwick Racecourse.
Mr Hopkins, 29, won a competition to name the second race at Randwick `Marry Me Nicole', and proposed to Ms Nault before the horses broke the barrier.
"We don't usually do anything major to celebrate Valentine's Day so this came as a complete shock, but I didn't hesitate for a moment," Ms Nault, a 21-year-old American from Phoenix, Arizona, said.

I'm wondering if the nail lady will try to grow them back now that they are broken, or if the freedom she will suddenly have will convince her to leave them at a more reasonable length...

Awareness alert? Is that about air quality or fire danger? Neither is good...
