So true, Suzy, so true.
But it's hard to feel happy when so many are suffering.

Cyn, one thing that helped me to be positive in here was a conversation we had once, a fair while ago, about how we often come in here when things are bad to hear good things and feel better. I made a deliberate attempt then to mix some good stuff in with the bad. I hope I didn't offend anyone!

I know what you mean, Suzy. At times this week, I've been able to that and at other times I just feel it's all so overwhelming. If I'm feeling that - all the way up here, what are those people going through. Will they EVER recover?
I was like this after 9/11, Bali and the Tsunami - so I know I'll get better, but will they?

Ooops sorry Suzy. I did not see all those other comments. I must be tired.
Weather in Port is cooler with rain.
In for a wet weekend by the look of the chart.
Wish it could go to Victoria though.
I was going to start to knit some tiny bootees for Kira. I am using a doll pattern lol
But instead I came to pooter in between washing and now it is a case of where has the time gone.

A little vent there, he is getting worse.
I must be off.
Sweet dreams to all of you.
Heidi you are one busy woman.

I have been stuck at singing practice. Ally has so much more fun when I'm not there though I'm going to avoid as many as possible. These are good people and I trust them with her...
Cyn, I know what you mean.

Okay, I know this is really weird and gross, but I have to say it to someone and all of you get to hear it...
The woman with the longest fingernails in the world - metres of them over all, broke them in a car accident today. Every time I hear about her I just have to think - how does she wipe???? I know, weird to wonder...

With that I have killed all conversation! On that note I will therefore leave... sending thoughts and wishes to all, especially Victorians who I read may have thunder and lightning over the weekend. Love you all.

Good Maen Sudokuland!
The sun is rising, painting the sky golden and apricot, lovely sunrise today. It is chilly out this morning and scattered frost at 37 (3C) degrees, but will warm to a springlike 65 (18C) today.
I hope the chance of rain holds off till after out Valentine's Date today. It will be Valentine's Day in Oz, so we are taking advantage and going out for lunch today. Too many people will be going out tomorrow night, we shall enjoy our meal more by going early. Tomorrow I shall bake a Valentine's cake. A two day celebration like we get a 2 day birthday here hehe Now a cake might not sound like a big celebration, but Al will enjoy. He does not get real cake except major holidays and birthdays. AND I will reduce the fat in it somewhat even. He will never know .
So, what are you ladies planning for Valentine's Day?

MizT, I haven't noticed a problem with access to restaurants etc in this town. Very unromantic they all must be! After saying that I will confess that our Valentine's celebrations will include the kids - they love Valentine's Day! I have bought a whole bunch of lollies/candy and fancy biscuits/cookies, which I will put in a basket for everyone to share. (Our anniversary on the other hand, will be just for us! Bugger the kids!)
10 minutes to Valentines! Kisses and wishes to all of you wonderful people!
Night night.

All! And isn't it a glorious
!! Our oldest, and favorite cow (she was a bottle calf 13 years ago, and is still a pet) just gave birth.
I'm on my way out to tag it.

It is a beautiful sunny day here, 24F. My shoulder is still very sore from phys therapy. The therapist said to just come once a week now to get checked. This is not because it is doing great (which I kind of thought it was), but because he thinks the only way to unfreeze my shoulder so it can move sideways is through surgery. I don't meet with the surgeon again until March 12th. I still have to stretch it all day long.

Ian has a half day of school today and then he has winter vacation all next week. Have not decided whether to pick him up and come home or just stay down there and go shopping since he has soccer practice down there at 5pm. (school and practice is a half hour south of us)

Broni..... It's better than that. A 13 year old cow, giving birth on the 13th, to our 13th calf of the season!!! And 13 has always been my lucky number!

Stella, wishing you the best for your shoulder. Sounds like the therapist is trying to be honest. If he wasn't he'd try and drag out your sessions. Hope you have fun shopping.

Suzy, saw the woman in an interview a few years back.
If you really want to know, read on, but you might get grossed out.
She used kitchen tongs wrapped in toilet paper. She used a pencil to type and dial the phone. She didn't wear clothes that had buttons and used plyers to zip up.
