I'm not sure. Probably about 25 or more. I sold a bunch of them this year, so my numbers are down. I got rid of every cow with a bad disposition. All the cows left let me walk up to their newborn calves and handle them, without objecting.

Evening all!
Gail, my heart was beating quickly just reading about your scare. In fact I was speed reading to get up to the post where you told us about it! That was a mean tease!

Heidi, congrats on your new heiffer.

Judy, can't wait to see the dress, and I bet it's months until the wedding!

Broni, hope your relaxing day has left you more able to cope with tomorrow.

Gail, I've have a glass of something for you tonight! You'll need all the help you can get after that adrenalin rush. You'll have to wait though because Ally has singing practice tonight and I won't be home until later.

All over town here are fundraising activities and donation points. There's the One Buck Fire Truck, dinners, raffles, concerts... and we're just a small place. Imagine what it is going to add up to by the time all the small places and big places put everything together!!

My girls have decided that since I have been putting stuff in buckets for people, they would like their money to go to the animals.

Yey Zusy, still have three whole days without D&D!
Doesn't look like we will be doing any painting on the boat this weekend either, weather is not good. Have committed myself to cleaning out my wardrobes and I have to be ruthless, oh what fun.

It doesn't seem like you are meant to paint that boat! Mr Murphy is doing everything he can to stop it from happening!

I just saw a headline "flood warning issued for northern..." and thought not again!!! Then noticed it was northern NSW not Qld. Thank goodness. Hang on, that sounds awful! I don't mean I want the NSW people to flood, just that northern Qld could do with a break.

Broni - apparently there has been some flash-flooding in the South East of Queensland - probably the usual spots and probably has cleared but there's more to come.
Suzy - Is the Mr Murphy you are talking about this one?

There was just an interesting interviews on the ABC and they were talking to people who lived in 'Cockatoo'and the rebuilding there after the 1983 fires. It was to give hope to the present fire victims on how a community can be rebuilt.
I kept looking but could not see you in the background at the shopping centre Gail!

June - just watched it myself - we get programs an hour later here due to daylight saving. It was a hugely interesting program and I do prefer the ABC's way of doing things without trying to sensationalise everything and without being repetitive. (IMHO)

No there weren't too many Cyn, that is why we chose this place. It was exactly the kind of place we wanted to raise our children. All these communities are the same, it might take some time for the locals to include you, but once you're in, they will treat you like family. That is why they are taking everything so hard, but also why most of them will stay and rebuild, because they are not only wanting to rebuild their house, they are keeping a way of life alive.

Yes, Gail, a lot of the people they interviewed from Cockatoo had lived through the 1983 fires and they said round about what you've just said. It is obviously a wonderful community. I'm just so sorry for the devastation, both material and psychological, to the victims, the communities, the state of Victoria and the entire Australian Community. This will be a hard one for everyone!
