SUZY, how will you dry sheets and towels? Home you have extras.

Susan, loved your story page 391, about the explanation of feathers, priceless. and did hubby believe you?? I ask cause I do not know if such is possible where you live hehehe, chicken feathers, and black ones at that, ROFL.

VIV, for hot slidy thing, I buy for price, inexpensive and replace often. Some of my quilting friends do the same and some buy very pricey commercial grade steam generators. Depends on what you want it to do. I am going for clean and neat here, even my quilts.

Liz, same advice to you. Decide what you want it to do first. THEn look to see what will work for you. If you want dependable, here in USA I would look to consumers reports for what they say is most dependable. I drive for dependable, my mini van is OLD, but it gets me there and back in relative comfort.

I'm now reading about and enjoying the sudoku meet vicariously...our modem has been flickering on and off with such gay abandon that I gave up on trying to get skype or a VOIP call thru to any of them...sob... at least I was out doing what I enjoy best...wandering through beautiful gardens and smelling the roses...heavenly.

I will come back later. No one has a light on and I don't want to talk to myself, too early in the day for that.

MizT, the feral people behind us do have chooks - some of which are black. They get into our yard regularly and drive hubby nuts. That's why the thought of one getting into our house relly was priceless! I confessed the truth though, and told him the story. He did know of the SF party, but not of the dress code. I showed him lots of photos.

Ahhh, Tami, missed you by how much? yes, I have a world clock link, but not opened it yet, and still too sleepy and lazy to be multitasking this morning. Be nice when you get MSN and we could come knock on each other's computer.

SUSAN, that is priceless, very good one for you?! you have feral people behind you? interesting nomenclature, but they might come in handy if you come up short for chooks on the barby.

BEAN, thanks for the link to the gardens, how did you know I would enjoy that?? I think I will take a cyber tour here this morning. Hubby is sleeping in, think he was playing last night in his office/playroom so I can go on a garden tour without guilt! Well, it is still weekend here, and he had some relaxation last night, watching comedy videos on U tube. Laughter is good medicine, maybe he needed some, this week was hard for him. Me? I went to bed at 8:30 but checked in on site a couple times. Ok, maybe 3. And yes, I did sleep well, but not all at one time! most sleep I have had this week!!

Now I am off to the virtual garden show! Ohhh, such a good thing on a windy cold morning, FLOWERS.

OH Bean, how good are you at identifying plants? I was given some very needy "houseplants" by a friend, store where she works was going to toss, (no way anyone would buy those babies), and were not particular where they landed. Somehow they arrived at my house They were in poor shape, but I had potting soil and had a lovely container Al had built for me, so said why not! I lumped all together no idea of their needs but they all survived! couple look a bit peeked, but where there is life, there is hope. They survived a very hot summer on my covered porch, even though I am sure they would have liked it cooler. I told them ( yes, i talk to plants) this is your only chance, give it your best shot.

brought them in about 3 weeks ago, and one has decided to bloom again! Just what Tricia needs, something to bloom in the winter.

Moral of this long long story? Strive to thrive wherever you are planted, cause you could be the sunshine in someone's day!

MizT, I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole anything from their house. The girl's parents who live 2 doors up from them have nearly as many animals as Heidi, but they live in the house - not house trained either.

Ohhh, eaa, sorry I missed you today. Now tell me, are you from South Tassie? ya all sounds familiar. But we southerners around here have shortened that a bit more, y'all. FYI y'all is singular, all y'all is plural.

ruby, thanks for the correct spelling. I was not close enough for my spell check to know what I meant.

Morning all!

Viv – I needed a new iron about 6 or 7 years ago. My mother nagged me into getting an expensive one ($120??). I was amazed! I had only ever had cheap ones before and this one felt like it was ironing the clothes for me – and I’m still using it. It is a Philips.

Susan – I’m in stitches reading about your daughter’s friends and the finery. They will never forget it! Every time they see you they will think about it!

Heidi – If I ever get skype I wouldn’t want to talk to cleaned up people, I’d want to see them in their everydays! Particularly if they include gum/rain/work boots!

MizT – I have extras, but my laundry is very small and it drives me mad having sheets and towels hanging around in there!

I fell asleep super early last night while watching TV which meant I forgot to hang school clothes in a doorway before I went to bed! The emergency dryer is now working overtime so the kids don't have to go to school nekkid...

Broni, there are a bunch of stories in the news this morning about the storm that hit parts of Brisbane - death and destruction they say, war zone! I'm not sure exactly where you live and I have everything crossed that it is nowhere near Brisbane! The boat has me hopeful...

Good morning Suzy, you are up early as always.

I got the new cupboards but have to get LOTS of stuff out of the computer room to put the old cupboards in and then put things away our of boxes and on the floor. A lot of work involved.

Hi June
Not officially here yet - the morning rush...

I think a hard bit would be working out where to start June! Do I put things in the new cupboards first so there is room to put the stuff I take out of the computer room? Do I take the stuff out of the computer room first so I can fit the cupboards in and get them out of whatever room they are blocking??? I don't envy you this job at all! Though I would love to see photos of the new cupboards when all is done (NO rush!!!)

-I am pleased with the new cupboards but they are not high like the others and Ken wants to know where he will dump all his stuff. I have packed some things in the new ones but I really should go through the big box of VHS tapes rather than just put them all away. The ones I need should be transfered to DVD but that takes time.

All the books will come into the computer room. At the moment they are all over the floor in the spare bedroom but will need that next week so hope most will be moved by then.

We were looking at a DVD/tape recorder that would do that job yesterday June. It was too cheap though - worried about it's reliability and quality. A straight DVD recorder was more than $100 more!

Our one is a Panasonic and I bought it a few years ago when it was the only one I could find. It is about $400 now but I paid about $650.
I have lots of tapes with my Mum, Inlaws, birthday partys etc, which I do not want to loose and the tapes do deteriorate.

Just been going through a container of pens and Pencils that was on top of the cupboard. They nearly all worked and some are about 15 years old. When I pick one up near the phone or computer why don't they work???
