Col, great to see you here today. I have enjoyed seeing names today I have not seen for ages. I went back and checked out page 1 of SA and a lot of those names are still posting regularly here. I made page two.
In 'real life' I am not a great debater and expounder of my views so the friendship and support I get from my SA friends is what I find fulfilling. I have always enjoyed reading others comments and have always had my favourites and can skip others.
I often comment on photos I enjoy seeing.

Went to the ortho for my torn b*tt. He also checked my shoulder. He said he never saw anyone with a torn b*tt before, and then laughed. It is funny! Although, it hurts like heck. The glute muscle is so big and also protected by the fat on your b*tt that it usually doesn't get injured.
He gave a cortisone shot to my shoulder, which actually made it feel worse. I haven't been able to use my left arm much. I got an mri, which I won't get the results for a while. Since then, that leg has been cramping up every night. One just can't win!

I talked to Brendan last night and he got to play in the game on Saturday! I checked the school's website and it didn't have him listed as playing, so I was very happy to hear that he did. Apparently he played great and everyone on the team, including the coach, said so. Now if only the coach will remember this and continue playing him! THANKS for all of your thoughts and prayers!
Bryana is doing very well at school but her soccer team is not. With all of the drama and tears finding out her advisor was leaving the school, she likes her new advisor!

Stella, hope you are soon feeling much better. You have such a busy family with so much running around that you need some rest to recouperate your own injuries.

Meghan is trying to find another study abroad program that has arabic. The Cairo program was eliminated. They moved the university out of Cairo and the students there this semester are having alot of problems. I was told that the girls were put on an old military base, there is no cafeteria and even though there are guards, the girls have been attacked. This gels with Meghan's experience in Cairo over the summer. Respect for women is nonexistent. It's a same, because the area has such a rich history. It looks like she may not be going anywhere next semester.

Hi Rosemary! I'm not aware of what's going on, but you are correct. Sudoku anonymous has always been and always will be for everyone. There are a few people who started posting in the beginning and still do so, and just like elsewhere, people come and go. I like posting more personal updates here so as not to bore others elsewhere(altho, that's not saying I'm not boring people here, haha) and I find strength in the support I feel from those all over the world. Thanks you guys! It means a lot to me!!

Morning Sudoluland!
HI YA Col and yes, you were on page one. Welcome back and drop in any time! GrannieMo, Kathy/Maryland, Rosemary, K/brissie and Mickey were also on page one of the original Sudoku.
Angie's description of how SA pages started are about spot on. It started May 10, 2007 when I opened a page in forums. There had been a LOT of talk about "what will we do " when the "Last to Post" contest is over. Some suggested we ask Gath to make us a page like EASY. I saw a way to get a page without having to bother Gath, and put it up to see if it would fly. Repeated invitations were posted on the last days of the "last to post" contest pages, for all to come join us. Repeated invitations were put up on EASY saying it was open and all were welcome. When the "Last to Post" contest ended, some chose to visit SA. A few stayed, others went back to EASY.

VICI, thanks for the coffee, I need it today. Had a poor sleep night, and therefore slept in this morning.
JUNE, sorry Laura kicked you out of your bed. Poor Baby, having a sore mouth and not understanding why! I hope both your patients recover soonest and come back better than ever.
STELLA, when I had my thumb injected with cortizone, it too was worse before it got better. My current doc did not tell me to ice the thumb, but I remember years ago, my rheumatologist told me to ice my hips after cortisone, and I tried the ice on my thumb. It helped a lot those first 2 or 3 painful days, and then, the original pain was relieved! Been 3 months now and my thumb pain has not returned. I hope the same happens for your shoulder.

glad to see the origionals here. it is good for me to get a history of the place...sort of like it's good to know who signed the declaration of independance and what states were part of the origional 13 colonies.

VICI, I like being the nag-er, not the nag-ee hehehe I am about back to normal here. Sleepless night was not surgery connected, just happens on occasion. I was thinking too much perhaps.
Hubby and I are negotiating when we will be out shopping today. we need a Wal Mart trip, for a few things we cannot find at Aldi's, like fat free cheese and caffeine free diet colas. I need to make a list. I would prefer around lunch time, so I get lunch out today hehehe That is life in the slow lane today for me.

Good morning MizT! I hope you are feeling better and back to all activities!
There are two sayings, "curiosity killed the cat" and "ignorance is bliss." I should have listened to them. Unfortunately, I read yesterday's "Easy" and it made me sad. And I'm not talking about the good old days, because they were fun, but I also understand how new people feel left out because they weren't there. There are lots of Forum pages for people to visit for all different reasons. I don't understand why some people hate this page so much. It makes no sense to me and I didn't understand the comments made about this page. What difference does it make to those that don't want to chat here. The comments made about this page were mean. I just don't get it. With over 50,000 posts in the last year and a half, I only recall one comment that was misconstrued and I thought that was put behind us a long time ago. I hope the comments made yesterday do not scare people away from this page. Everyone is always welcome to talk about whatever, including their boring, mundane lives. I'm just sorry that I get so busy and I miss some of it. It always makes me feel better when it seems like others are listening to me. Not everyone has people they can talk to. Thanks for listening.

HI Mariana, your posts came up while i was typing, so I missed you. Only when I had an infant did I truly appreciate being clean like you mentioned. My girls were widely spaced and I only had to deal with one at a time mostly. Because I am a morning person, I was up and in the shower first thing a morning once my baby was sleeping most of the night. I had the luxury of being able to nap when my toddlers napped. Looking back, I had it easy compared to many mothers.

Huumm, too full for cheesecake? now that gives me an idea! there is a BBQ restaurant that makes a nice key lime pie, had some at our friends' wedding rehearsal dinner last month. I have been wanting another slice. maybe we need to go shopping mid afternoon, after having a light lunch at home, leaving room for pie hehehe.

Very well put, Stella. Thank you. I am REALLY sorry to hear about your 'rear' problem. It has to make sitting VERY painful. You have my sympathy.
I made one statement yesterday that was poorly stated, and was very much misconstrued. That was made on this page. I am sorry for that. There was no intention on my part to stir up a hornets nest, but I expressed a concern... jokingly... that it would be interpreted by some as such. Again, I apologize to my friends here for doing so. The fallout got ugly.

mizt- i get by with the caffinated diet soda! what is the point of the caffiene free? actually, i drink the free stuff after 3:30 or so.
alison keeps telling me to go there stella. i must make room for cheese cake though. the best i have ever had was at carnegi deli in new york. man o man. i love ny city, and that cheesecake played a big part of that.

Yes, showering is a luxury, no matter what age they are! When they were young, Meghan was a night owl(still is) and wouldn't go to sleep. Brendan was a year younger and a morning person, up by 5am. Bryana and Ian never let me put them down and they went everywhere with me attached to my hip. Now that they're older, (when they're all home) the second I get into the shower, I hear horseplay or an argument or something breaking, etc. and I think I can't even take a shower for 5 minutes before all heck brakes loose. Although, in a way it is comforting. Now, with everyone at school, it's back to being a necessity rather than a luxury.

Heidi, no problem here. I guess you touched a sore spot.
Mariana, I hated diet soda for years, couldn't go near the stuff. But when I started drinking soda again, my favorite beverage, I realized how much sugar I was drinking. So I switched to diet and now that I became accustomed to the taste, that's all I drink(as far as soda is concerned) Regular during the day and decaffinated at night. Love the Dr. Pepper!

Mariana, Hubby's cola choice is medically necessary. cardiologist says NO CAFFEINE, none, nadda. Sugar free is because of a problem processing sugars.
