Good morning to you on a nice sunny day here. Yes, Tricia...the sun does indeed brighten spirits. I have a doctor's visit in a few minutes, but after re reading post, I see that I didn't respond to a question from Julie. First, thanks for the confidence building appreciation that you enjoy my post and think that I might have been a professional writer...I can only wish. No, and I have absolutely no idea how those who write professionally are able to come up with ideas and subject matter to write. I'd have enjoyed doing that, but would be stressed out all of the time, because I don't see or understand how its done. I find however, that I can share my thoughts better in the written word, rather than the spoken word. Many don't agree with me, or think I'm telling the full story when I say that I am a shy person, yet I am. This I have found is the best way to say what's on my mind or in my heart. Okay...now you all know one of my deeply held secrets...LOL.
Okay, a look at the clock tells me to get myself away from this chair so that I won't be late. Peace and love to all.

Ha...another messed up topp..Oh well next to the topp it is..
Many receive advice, only the wise profit from it.
And to demonstrate that point..I advise myself to get out of here...LOL.

I had a fun lunch with my best friend today. We went to Steak & Shake, and had the world's best steakburgers and milk shakes. Mine was chocolate & banana, and hers was dark chocolate.
As soon as I got home, I jump started the UTV (it needs a new battery) and did a thorough cow check. No new calves today.

Heidi, your lunch sounds fun. I have not had a milkshake in ages. Not so sure about chocolate banana, but the dark chocolate sounds good. My all time favorite is strawberry, if real strawberries are used. Hope your weather for the cow check was as nice as our weather was this afternoon. the sun was warm, not much wind, a pre spring day.
weird things going on, my post has disappeared twice, only to automatically restore itself, so I am out of here. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Tomorrow morning, we're going to a big event at Abraham Lincoln's birthplace, in celebration of his 206th birthday. That's only 6 miles, or so, down the road from here.

Greetings to all!
Mama, I really enjoyed reading your TOPP, as well as the next-to-the-TOPP! I wouldn't have guessed that you are shy and feel more comfortable expressing yourself with the written word over the spoken word. As to the next-to-TOPP, I hope I'm one of the persons who profits from receiving advice. I hope your doctor visit. Hopefully it won't take as long as was predicted for MizT's!
MizT, I hope your doctor visit went well and didn't take nearly as long as they warned it might! I'm glad you at least had a nice day to be out and about!
Heidi, Hooray for birthday lunches with friends. It sounds yummy. The first time we went to a Steak & Shake, it took FOREVER to be served, and the shakes we ordered for WITH our meals weren't brought until we had finished eating. As a result, Hubby doesn't consider it a place to go for a meal. Enjoy your visit to Abraham Lincoln's birthplace!
Broni, I hope you're continuing to enjoy a restful vacation!
Time for me to get some rest. Sending healing energy, prayers, positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and

I overslept and missed the event at Lincoln's birthplace. I had an earache last night, and the ear is now back to bleeding.

We caught the 2 August born bull calves and are weaning them. One has pneumonia, and we just packed him full of the strongest antibiotics available. He will need to be treated 2 more times so we're keeping the 2 up in the horse barn next to the house. Once the treatment is done, they'll get moved in with the other bulls and start their vaccination program. I suspect we can sell them to the same Vet who bought the others.

I almost forgot. My next epidural was scheduled for next Tuesday morning...... but since calving started earlier than usual, I decided to postpone it one month. Calving should be nearly over by then, and it'll be 2 weeks before the foal is scheduled to be born.

Hi, Everyone!
Hi, Heidi! So sorry this wasn't one of your best days. No wonder you overslept since you had to do with an earache overnight and return to bleeding in your ear. Too bad you missed the event at Lincoln's birthplace!
Hopefully the antibiotics with cure the ball calf of pneumonia quickly, and the two calves can get all of their vaccinations so they can be sold. And your busy calving season will be followed shortly after by the arrival of a foal. I hope you can get your epidural in and get some good rest and relaxation in the intervening weeks!
Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, prayers, healing energy, and
for everyone!

Julie, I make lots of typing mistakes. I just ignore them as I am sure people know what I mean.
I just read Laura's school weekly newsletter. They were saying the next canteen meal deal will be Wednesday 25 July instead of February.
Lazy day as I had been up around midnight with bucket and towels when the water came in from a passing storm.
Tonight we had dinner at our local Thai restaurant. They make the best satay sauce.

About a week ago there was an old B&W film about Abraham Lincoln. We started to watch until we realised it finished at 2AM. He was still on the farm when we turned it off.

Greetings friends, I am back, after 24 hours of NO internet, phone or TV. One reason I do not like bundling, if one goes, they all go. Good thing I had my cell phone, but was still very boring without my electronics! And I had to use up lots of my cell minuets on hold with the cable company to find out what was going on. The automated message kept saying there was a service outage in my area, but service would be restored in 2 hours. More like 24 hours! They said they had some damaged equipment, but were working on it, and even the live person said 'should be back up in 2 hours'. I did get a discount on my bill, for interruption of service, something like $5 hehehe.
My doc appointment was not nearly as long as it could have been, I was back home by 3 pm. I had to fill out paperwork, talk with the nurse about history, get blood drawn and an EKG, plus a nose swab to check for MRSA, the resistant staph bacteria. I did have to wait on Elmo, he was out picking up some ladies, but in the car, instead of the van, so had to get them back home and get the van to get me and my chair. They try to use the car when it is just one or two people who can walk, lots easier on gas than the van/bus.
We have a valentines day party this afternoon. Trying to find something festive to wear that is also warm, it is cold out today and with all the windows in the meeting room, usually cooler down there. My sparkly red top is thin, so might have to ditch the sparkle for something warmer.
I need to go read mail, and work a puzzle or two, I was having withdrawal symptoms. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

The Fall or Bull calf has had treatment #2 of 3. He's still coughing, but his appetite seems better today.
MizT... it appears that the cable people need to learn how to tell time. 2 hours and 24 hours aren't even close! How frustrating!

June, I hope your wrist is healing. I don't suppose your midnight mopping helped. At least the storm must have helped any green and growing things outside. How was your Thai dinner? Now I'm getting hungry - haven't had Thai food in ages.
June, don't you wonder why long movies start so late? Who want to stay up until 2 a.m. to watch a movie? (Sometimes I'm up till 2 to visit this site and read & answer e-mail, but that's different - I think.)
MizT, I'm glad your doctor appointment didn't take as long as they predicted. But what a bummer to be without phone, TV, and internet for 24 hours. I'm glad they'll give you a discount on your bill, but that hardly makes up for the inconvenience.
Heidi, what a relief that the bull calf is beginning to respond to treatment for his pneumonia! I hope he continues to progress. And another bull calf born today! Do you usually get a few more bulls than heifers? How many more calves are left to be born? I'm sorry but don't remember how many calves are usually born each year.
After waiting 2 weeks to hear results of a biopsy, hubby called the dermatologist's office today. He got a call back later this afternoon, and he has a BCC on the top of his right ear. When we had annual appointments last May and I had the biopsy on my nose, he asked about the spot on his ear. The doctor said he thought it was eczema and prescribed a cream to put on it, which initially cleared it up. They will get back to us to schedule a Moh's procedure and plastic surgery to close.
It's time to call it a night. Good Night and prayers, positive thoughts, healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and
for everyone! Happy Valentine's Day!

Julie, I am sorry to hear your hubby has a skin cancer, but as my dermatologist said, on the occasion of my first, if you have to hear cancer in a sentence concerning you or someone you love, a basal cell skin cancer is the way to go. Easily treated and eliminated. I have had far too many removed. I hope all goes well and this is soon done and dusted.
Yesterday I received the book I ordered, the newest official scrabble dictionary, with 3000 new words. I remember 'selfie' is one of them. I also found another cheat sheet with the new words included, new words in red. I need to get those printed out before next Wednesday.
We had a nice Valentines Day party yesterday. Our treat was chocolate brownies topped with strawberries and whipped cream, and were yummy. I also got one of the roses that were used for table decorations, the deepest red I have seen in a rose in a long time. Tanya came and helped with preparations and serving of the treats. there was also punch, and a plate of nibbles, chocolate covered pretzels, quiche, cheese curls, cheese cubes, and other snack stuff. I do believe we all had a chocolate overload! One of the quieter parties, as there was a Valentines word search page at each place. Everyone was kept busy hunting words. Carolyn, who was sitting at table with me, kept at it till she found all the words.
Nothing else new here, so I shall leave hugs for each of you, with extras.

The sick calf got his 3rd treatment today. His temperature is back into the normal range, and he just looks feistier, tho' he's still coughing a little. Tomorrow we'll move the 2 little bulls next door with the other bulls. We can keep an eye on our patient there, and retreat him easily.

Final day of my holiday and finally have internet access.
It is a beautiful sunny morning with a little dew on the grass so not too hot yet.
We have an easy trip home then think we will have a spa to sooth a few aches. Bella is a good camp dog now.
Must away to hook up the van.

Safe trip home, Broni.
Heidi, I hope the calk recovers from pneumonia without further treatment.
weather here was beautiful today, in the mid 60's, sunny with the bluest sky, but it will not stay this way long. Tanya and I went up to the park to enjoy the sunshine. We are forecast for snow late Sunday night through Monday, possibly as far south as we are, bummer. I suppose I should go to store tomorrow for milk and bread
Forecast is for ice, snow then rain, so this should not last long.
Tanya's father, my ex, passed away this morning, in California. Plans are to being him back to Birmingham for burial. Tanya spent the afternoon with me today. She brought me roses for V day! She had cooked a roast, and cupcakes for our lunch, I cooked the fresh vegetables. A really nice lunch and she even washed the dishes fore she left.
I do hate for her his death was on Valentines Day. So hard through the years when anniversary of death is a holiday.
Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Broni, safe travels on your return home. I hope you feel fully renewed and can ease back into work schedule and daily routine.
MizT, condolences to Tanya on the passing of her father. Probably a good thing that she was kept busy yesterday with the party and today with lunch/dinner with you. How thoughtful of her to prepare much of the meal!

Ken spent most of the weekend at bowls so tonight we drove to the beach (about 35 minutes) and had fish and chips as we watched the ones on surf boards and others swimming. It is so relaxing watching the waves roll in and we also walked around to where the waves were breaking over the rocks.

Busy afternoon. I hooked up the hay hauler to the tractor, picked up several rolls of hay from a friend who was selling it, then delivered it to cousin Don's farm. That was 2 hours of driving on the tractor on highways. I had to use my tractor because the seller's tractor wouldn;t start, so I had to load the hay, then unload it at Don's. 'T'were my good deed for the day.

Heidi had snow, we have had a cold cold rain. Not sure what is forecast for overnight, but schools will start 2 to 3 hours late, so must be some kind of frozen stuff expected.
Today we had a group of singers from a local church, the Celebration singers. About 20 women, dressed in black slacks, white long sleeve blouses and sequined vests. Vests were of many different colors, blue, green, magenta, pink, and the leader had a black vest with base and trebel notes on it. I think each one of the singers had a 'part' to play, with a costume. Everything from a bullfrog to a puppy, to a dancing senorita. they went with the song the group was singing. A bit silly but fun, enjoyed the program. These women sing somewhere every Monday, traveling in the church bus, and they seem to have great fun.
I am waiting for a program on TV. Last night was the first of it, an hour program on Tasmania, then two hours on the animals of Australia. Tonight is the concluding 2 hours. It was very interesting. I heard of and saw a few more of the things in Australia that are out to get ya. Bulldog aunts, that have killed 6 people in the last 20 years, yuck, and a brown snake that can kill ya in less than 20 minuets, oh dear. A long segment on wombats, more of them are killed by autos and drought than predators, how sad. Looking forward to what tonight's program will bring. Nat Geo Wild, and I think you can get this program on the internet if anyone is interested.
Off to check weather forecast, see if there is snow or freezing rain in our future. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.
