Hello my friends, hope you are all well and happy.
Far from finished loading the photos of our trip so far but the path we have traveled is up to date. Not sure what data allowance this will use if you check the site, but here is the link

We are close to the border of South Australia and Western Australia and will be playing 18 holes of Golf across the Nullarbor Plains which is 1200 klms, so will take us a few days.

Another day of sleeping. My body may just be trying to make up for all that sleep I didn't get before the epidural, or it could be the chronic fatigue come back. Or the ear infection. I am feverish, and the ear is still bleeding a little.

Just a quick Hello!
Nola, your days sound quite full. I hope you're enjoying every minute here in the U.S.
Broni, I will need to check on the site - hopefully tomorrow.
D Or A, I will need to do the same with the site you mentioned.
Heidi, perhaps your body is just letting you know it has been overworked. I hope the sleep helps! Have you checked with the doctor about your ear infection? I hope you will soon feel better!
No more time for reading or writing tonight. Sending lots of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy,
, positive thoughts, and prayers!

Happy Thursday everyone...May the sun shine on you and your families on this day.
Nothing of real interest going on here, unlike the busy days that many of you are having. Nola, glad to know that you have had a great time thus far and do hope we can keep it going when you get here.
DorA....loved the link ...and so agree that she has found the way.
Heidi, sounds as if a conversation with the doctors regarding that ear fever bit...it shouldn't keep going on like that. As for the sleep...that may or may not be a sign of anything other than needed due to the lack of it while your back was so bad. Whatever the cause, I sure hope that your discomfort and pain are soon history. Broni, glad you are still having a good time and I'm off shortly to view the link and enjoy all that you have captured.
Peace everyone. May your joys be many, and challenges few, with the strength to endure either with grace and good will.

Hello all, just wanted to fill you in on some stuff. I will have my first eye surgery June 9 and the second one July 15. I am so looking forward to being able to see again. Hubby will also have surgery this summer. Hip replacements on July 20 and August 31. So all in all it will be a miserable summer, but the end results will hopefully be so worth it. Right now hubby cannot walk much, has worked very little, but it will all work out in the end. I have not been reading as it is too difficult to see. When I have the first cataract surgery, I will have waited eleven months and two days. Love our health care system.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a perfect health care system... mainly because they're devised and controled by committees and beaurocracies.

Greetings friends, checking in since I did not yesterday. It is very warm outside, we slid into summer temps already, 90 and 92, too warm for May. So far the humidity has stayed low, please let it stay that way. I can tolerate the heat so much better if humidity is low.
Teresa, will be thinking of you and your husband as you both have your surgeries. Good luck, and wishing you both a speedy and complete recovery.
Heidi, I will add my voice to the others, check with your doc about your ear. It has been going on far too long. surely there is something the doc can do for you. An infection like that is enough to make you draggy, ask me how I know
Mama, it might be a bit dull when nothing is going on, but it means no tragidies, no bad surprises, so enjoy your slow do nothing days.
BRONI and D or A, I hope to check out your sites later.
busy day today. Tanya took me to grocery and to run errands, back and all put away before time for a hair cut. Our regular beautician, who did not do a good job last haircut, is not here for the summer. Her daughter is here instead, and I like her so much better. I got what I think is a good haircut, it looks wonderful when she did the blow dry and style. I hope I can do as well.
Scrabble was fun, I sat in for half the first game, cause I had accidentally made hair appointment for scrabble time. I did play the second game, my score very close second, I had some good letters today.
It is now time for a rest, my day has caught up with me. Oh, I bought more of the hangers for closet and hung up another batch of blouses this afternoon.

I checked with the heating and cooling people today. They're still waiting for part of the new system to come in so they can install it. Their suppliers didn't send everything at once. They HOPE that we may have A/C up and running by the middle of next week! And our temperatures are like MizT's!!!! It's adding insult to injury with my fever.

Theresa, thinking of you and your husband! Your health system sounds like ours, which is why we have private insurance. No wait. It's expensive though so I hope we can keep it. I'm not even sure if other countries with national health allow private insurance.
Broni, I got the message that they don't have a mobile site yet so it won't work properly. I'll have to log onto my lap top to try again.
DorA, my iPad won't even let me copy your link at the moment.
I just received my biopsy results. My polyp only had one dimension and I'm not sure if it's length or diameter. Diameter seems unlikely so I'm thinking length. 20cm or about 8 inches. Well he did say it was significant.

Good Morning lovely people...Theresa, so glad you took the time to share all of your health news. I'm happy that you and hubby will be being towards feeling better yet I know what a challenge the surgeries will be for you both. Sending all of the best vibes for speedy and full recovery your way.Looking forward to a rejuvenated Theresa is once again able to partake in the things that you haven't been able to do comfortably for awhile, like reading..
Suzy...you have been missed and on my mind. I'm not sure I understand about your polyp being , one dimensional, but I think it means that while there was growth, it isn't going to be a real problem for you now...at least that's what I'm hoping is the take away, and if I'm correct, then THAT makes me happy, and I'm sure it makes you ecstatic!
Heidie and Tricia, we had that kind of weather last week, and the humidity did build as the days went on, but then spring returned the other day, and it's quite nice temp wise, but we can use a little rain. Today is a partly cloudy so perhaps we'll get it soon. I really hope that the good weather holds until after Nola and family have had a chance to visit. I'd like to have them at least be able to enjoy dry weather and see a bit of the city if they wish. Heidi, hope the parts come for your A/c soon...no fun having to do things in extreme temps while not feeling your best to make a hard day harder. To say nothing of adding to the discomfort of fever....feel better soon girl. You too Tricia...and just enjoy all of that planting you have been doing. From your descriptions of the things Tanya's been doing to and for you and others in your recent post, it seems as if she too has taken root and is growing better every day...how good that must make you feel. I'm happy for you both.
Okay folks, I'm off to see what else I can get out of doing around here...as you said Tricia, I'm going to enjoy the quiet time, cause I know that even if I work my hands to the bone getting things in ship shape, I'd only have to do it over again another time...so I'll just wait a bit...hehe...lazy days are what its about right now...and no regrets either. Peace all.

Greetings friends. We have Mama's overcast skies here today. I would hope it means rain, but have not heard/read a weather forecast to see what the best guess is for today.
My ear is not getting better, my doc is out of the office until after I leave for vacation. I am considering going to urgent care today, there is one nearby I have used before with good results.
Heidi, be careful working the cows today, no re-injuring your back, please. I can only imagine your discomfort with fever and no air conditioning, yuck. Hope you are better soon.
I am making soup, and it is calling me. I made so much having to cook it in two batches, as the pressure cooker cannot be full to operate. House smells good. I shall freeze part of this to take for our Monday night meal, another of my 'what ya got' soups. Started with ham, tomatoes, okra and expanded from there.

I was going to type a message last night. But I was falling asleep reading the comments. Too many people with ailments. Please all get better soon.
While on the western front tour I was able to visit the resting place on my agrandmother's brother. A very moving experience.
We are now in Paris visiting all the well known tourist. Attractions. Today we are off to Mont Mart and Sacre Cour. Tomorrow is the train to London. Time is going quickly now. I am still using the walking. Stick. The knee is a lot better but the support means is stays that way. Especially with all the stairs to climb and cobble stones in places.
Last time I tried to post it would not send so I do hope that you get this one.

Another full day and now resting our feet before going to dinner. There are lots of stairs up and down at the train stations and we have caught a few trains today. That should be the last of the steps! It was a lovely sunny afternoon and so many people enjoying the sunshine in the gardens between Concorde Place and The Louvre. I may not get a chance to post again until we get home 26 May as we will mainly be staying with friends.

Hi all, hope you are all resting up and putting the aches and pains away. As June said, far too many are not feeling as well as we'd like to have everyone feeling...so marching orders have been issued...so let's get busy.
June, your post of Paris make me want to return...I so enjoyed being there and absolutely loved the train into London...and you are indeed a wise woman to keep using the walking stick to keep the knees feeling good...so many steps to those train stations.
Heidi, I hope this was a fun day for you and the pain abated enough to enjoy the horses.
Julie, what's keeping you so busy? The recital practice? If so, I understand the stress, but things will go well I'm sure. Hope you have been able to relax and get enough sleep to be really refreshed...it's so difficult to be your best w/o needed sleep. What a bad time for your ear to be so bothersome Tricia. I do hope you are able to get enough relief so as to to be able to have a great vacation. Safe travel to you.Broni, I did get to the site and found it interesting. Glad you enjoy camping and have this opportunity to see a lot of your beautiful country. I couldn't really enjoy that kind of travel...too afraid of the animals attacking as I slept....plus, I'm one who'd rather fly to a place and stay in a comfortable hotel and see what is in that location, but your way certainly allows one to enjoy lots offered by mother Nature...so keep doing what rocks your boat. I was a little disappointed not to see any pictures of Bella enjoying the water, after reading how much she liked it. I wonder if Jazz would like that...but I guess, I'll never know his truth.Lol.
Alright, good people, I'm off to find something else to do...most likely some jigsaws and then a little reading. Enjoy what's left of your weekend and treat others well and yourselves better. Peace.

Greetings friends, Today is a better day here, weather wise and ear also. We had rain yeaterday afternoon, Tanya said it was a storm, she sent text asking if I was OK. Ansered yes, WHY? she had awakened me from a very good sleep, so soundly I did not hear the storm go by. My ear had stopped hurting, was such a relief, I fell into a deep deep sleep for 3 hours!
Jule, I am glad using the walking stick is helping your knee to behave itself. Enjoy London and all it has to offer, and the friends you shall be visiting.
Julie, I also wonder what you are doing that is keeping you so busy. However did you and your husband find time to work, you are so busy in retirement hehehe
Heidi, hope you recovered enough from working the cattle to enjoy your day out today at the races. I know you look forward to that trip, it sounds so fun.
I need to finish packing. Tanya brought my clean clothes, I put those away, she painted my toe nails for me, too. the old polish had grown out said she, too far away for me to tell hehehe It is a good thing I have her to check up on things like that or I would have happily gone to beach and pool with a bad pedicure.
Back to getting everything together, hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Back from Churchill Downs. e had a LOT of fun, though few came home with as much money as we left with. Out of 11 races, I picked 5 winners, but none of them were long shots. I did put $5 to win on American Pharoah... who DID win the Preakness Stakes by 7 lengths on a hideously sloppy track in the downpour.

Greetings to all! Yesterday my quintet met for a coaching, and last night was my cello teacher's recital for her students. In between, I did a lot of practicing. Well, actually, I've been doing a lot of practicing for several weeks. The recital is the part that I dislike the most. All I can say is, 'It's over.' And now, in spite of being quite exhausted from the preparations, I must return to recording all the songs in the second lesson book. I have 5 left to do, which is also nerve-wracking. When that is finished, I'll give myself a bit of a rest from recording, but over the summer I need to record all of the songs in the third lesson book.
Another thing keeping us busy is our duties as membership chairmen of our woodturning club, and hubby's job trying to find and arrange internships for high school students. We both feel like we're always tired. Though my ear feels better, I'm pretty sure it isn't completely healed, and I've begun feeling some discomfort in my other hear. Maybe better sleep habits will improve that.
Here's hoping that all those under the weather will soon be feeling much better! Sending lots of healing energy, positive vibes, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and

Greetings friends,
Julie, I am happy your recital is over. It is sad that it causes you so much anxiety. Has your anxiety gotten any better as you are on more recitals? Or has it got worse? Is being in the recital mandatory to continue lessons with this instructor? Have you told her how much you dread the recitals? A lot of questions, sorry, but I am interested in how you are doing. Yes, you deserve a break from recording your lessons. It is not good to always feel tired.
Broni, I am really glad camping and traveling floats your boat hehehe. You do have a lot of the amenities you take with you, I love your camper. Are you staying at campgrounds with other travelers some of the time? Are campers in Oz as friendly as they are here in USA? Continue to enjoy, and I still need to see if I can get to your site for photos, been a bit busy here.
Heidi, If you came out ahead on the betting, and only had your purchases to pay for, you did good. I am glad you found a hat you liked, I know you do enjoy your hats. How is the back after working the cows and then the trip? I hope it made the trip in good condition.
My ear is continuing to get better, it only hurts occasionally now, and not as badly as before. ?That makes me happy hehehe. I am almost packed for trip, have a list of last minuet things to put in tomorrow morning, and a list of things that need to be done here before I go. It is going to work out I think. We had more rain yesterday, so the garden will be in good shape while I am gone. I have 2 people who are checking on it, Tanya and a resident Jo, so that is good.
Time to finish my breakfast and get busy again. I shampooed my hair for first time since it was cut, and it was easy to blow dry, fast too, it is very short, but that is good for summer. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hello all - glad to hear some of the aches and infections are getting better. MizT how long before you go on your holiday? I am on one now - hubby and no. 3 son left this morning for China for 2 weeks and it is like a holiday here at work - so peaceful. Better luck at the races than I have Heidi - a few weeks ago we went to the country races and I should have backed the Shetland companion horses!!! Hope all is well with you Suzy - you already have enough on your plate. Congrats on your recital Julie - it must be so gratifying to play the cello. My hubby is like you Mamacita - we clash as I love camping and he likes 5 star hotels. It is o.k. though, I go camping each year and he travels overseas and stays in luxury. Waiting anxiously to hear from no. 1 son - he went to Peru 2 weeks go and we haven't had any contact from him. Typically he didn't plan ahead - just knew the sights he wanted to see so we don't know where he is. Last time he did this he ended up in Kathmandu and went trekking. Have to go, work awaits. Best wishes to everyone.

Hello, and Good Night!
Hoping everyone is well and/or improving.
Midge, just glancing at your post above mine. I can't say I am as fond of camping as I once was, but certainly understand it can be a holiday when you can be at home and work without others placing their needs or want on you and you can march to your own drummer for a bit. (I'm not sure that makes sense, but I'm too tired to think of a better way to word it.)

I slept all yesterday. This morning we loaded up the cow/calf pair ... in a massive downpour... and I drove them to my favorite sale barn. Early this evening, I drove back down there (1 hour each way) to pick up the check. Cow/calf pairs sell first in the sale. I think we got a good price considering the cow was 16 years old (most cows stop producing at 9-10) and her calf was badly stunted (he looked 3 weeks old, but was over 3 months old). Either one alone was worth VERY little, but since the cow was well fleshed, and I didn't tell them how old the calf was, I got a normal, fair, price for a middle aged cow and a young calf.
We STILL don't have air conditioning! The Heating and Cooling people are still waiting for the Lennox company to send one crucial part of the system so they can install it. Meanwhile, the heat and humidity are sapping what little energy I have.

We are in a farm B&B in the Yorkshire Dales. Everything very beautiful. Very green paddocks, white lambs with black faces. Some rabbits and miles and miles of drystone fences. We are here as Ken wants to see some trains.

The back and ear are in horrible shape. I suspect that the back is in pain because the pain meds are overworked with the earaches and headaches. Once the new system is installed, I'll be phoning the doctor for another appointment. I have to be here since IH feels no responsibility to supervise any home repairs whatsoever. I do NOT understand him.

Happy Thursday here...and I 'm also glad you are about to return to working AC and Heat...cool here over the last few days but both will be needed in the future so good to have them working again. Sorry to hear, but not surprised that your back and ear are still bothersome. I do hope you can get a quick appointment to have them checked out...you have been suffering from these ailments for far too long.
I've been getting the summer flowers planted in my container garden and am almost finished...looking pretty nice, but I need to get a few additions to get what I want. The spring flowers are just about finished and were splendid while they lasted. Thank goodness for daughters...mine did most of the work planting so I get to do most of the enjoying....works for me...lol.
June, the farm B&b sounds like a lovely spot to rest and enjoy for a few days and will set your mind in a peaceful mode as you wind down the vacation and head home. Broni, just keep revving your travels up and continue to enjoy them to the max.
Okay folks, as Julie sends plenty of hugs and kisses, along with healing vibes, I'll just add my good wishes for a wonderful and safe holiday to those celebrating Memorial Day here and any occasion that calls for good cheer and glad tidings being enjoyed everywhere. Peace.
