Anecdote. Tahli refuses to believe that Gizmo is male. I think it's because he's so fluffy.

Tell me too if you find out how to increase your day! I am still at work trying to sort out a huge mess. Suzy - for high blood pressure, have you thought of doing a meditation course? My kids gifted me one last year and it really does work. Hope you are feeling better. Heidi - fingers crossed your dental work is ok.

Good one DorA.

Midge, my blood pressure is good most of the time. It was weird to see it so high. I don't remember the top, but the bottom was over 100! Meditation might help with the anxiety part of my not normal. Though when I've tried it in the past my brain has gone into fast flashback mode.

Julie, you do so many things that are worthwhile it would be hard to find something to give up to give you the extra time.

So many good 'sayings' I need to start using more of them.

Storms went all about us last night, I slept through them all. My telephone alarms, which are set for a very narrow parameter, only went off for the flash flood watch. Even that did not materialize. Many were not that lucky.

I was watching the weather channel, a tornado on the ground was approaching middle Tennessee, very near my elephants! this morning staff reported no storm damage, but boy I was worried about them for a while.

I hope to make a road trip tomorrow, Tanya and I are going down to Petals from the Past, for a class he is presenting, perennials for the southern garden. should be fun.

Hope to buy a few more plants, too, while there.

It takes me forever to get here now, I have no idea why, but it is a pain. One reason I am not here more often.

Heidi, hope you are doing well today, that sounds lie a massive and very scary infection, that abscess. Take care of yourself, please.

Suzy, flashback mode does not sound fun, no matter what is flashed for your viewing.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Still sore and swollen, but making steady progress. It may take a while to get the infection out of my system. My body is helping the fight by sleeping a LOT. Hence, not here much.

Yesterday in Kanazawa and today in Kyoto the cherry blossom is at its peak. Beautiful. I have a bad cough. So have quite a few others. We blame to overheated rooms and the bus.
I have sent Ken out to buy some bananas for dinner. I am getting tired of Japanese food. Mainly because of this cold, I think.
Heidi, take care. That infection was quite a worry, Thinking of you all.

Greetings friends, today it did not take so long to arrive in Sudokuland. Maybe I have found the short cut I need.

Saturday we enjoyed our road trip to the class on Southern Perennials. Had a nice lunch at a local Mom and Pop cafe. Yummy hand made hamburgers, mine was a Swiss mushroom burger, really good! Tanya's was so full it arrived with a steak knife holding it together, stabbed down from top to bottom. Coming home we kept having traffic slow downs, almost to a creep at times. No reason for it either, no accidents, no entrance ramps feeding in merging traffic, just suddenly everyone was going s l o w. got to looking at the autos, figured a lot of the traffic was northerners going back home after Easter Week vacations in Florida! Auto tags from Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, and I forget where else, piled up with bicycles, and luggage in car top carriers.

Sunday was a quite day, till I interrupted that with a blood curdling scream, I think everyone on our floor heard me. About supper time, I was cleaning out bottom of closet, sitting in my rolling secretary's chair. I leaned over too far, the chair shot out from under me, turned over, and I landed on it, caught me right under my arm, and across shoulder blade. For some reason when I fall I scream, loudly, before I hit the ground even. My neighbor was at my door asking if I was OK, nope, not really. I could not get up, and my medic alert button would not work. yep, that new one I have had only 2 weeks, would not work. Barbara pushed her button, I found out later, but at same time, I remembered I had cell phone on me, and I called 911. they asked if someone was there to let them in, nope, only me, but since I fell at my door, perhaps I can reach up and unlock it. Once it was unlocked, Barbara asked if she could do anything, PILLOWS, that floor was hard, and hurting every joint that came in contact. she brought her bed pillows, and I snuggled down to wait for the firemen. they got me up on my feet again, nothing broken, just bruised, so all is well. I have a sharp line bruise where the edge of the chair caught me, but it could have been so much worse. Just taking my pain meds and muscle relaxers, and have been OK today. Just not moving fast.

Ms Tricia, I liked the first part of your story. I can relate to great hamburgers and traffic that slows for no apparent reason.

The second part of your story - My 'immediate thought' was 'Oh NO!'. As I read further, I was so relieved to hear that your mis-adventure wasn't any worse. Thank goodness for your neighbor, Barbara, and your cell phone. I think the 'medic alert' people best be replacing the non functioning unit stat!

Not good about the Medic Alert, MizT. First you have the malfunctioning one that kept going off, now one that won't go off when needed. You need a new one and a BIG apology from those people. It MIGHT have cost you your life if it had been a more serious emergency.

I have another equine seminar coming up in 14 hours. A great Italian meal, followed by talks on skin diseases and botulism in horses.

Only a little swelling left in the face, and local pain only. Major improvement.

Hope all those aches and bruises are better for MizT and Heidi. Suzy I will be in touch when I get home. I worry about you. I am sitting in our hotel on 20th. floor overlooking the lights of Hiroshima. I am feeling much better. Last night we stayed in a Japanese style hotel and slept on the floor. It was not easy to get up and the only place to sit other than the floor was on the toilet! At least it was not a squat! I must say it was quite a novel experience and the dinner they put on was exceptional.

The friends I was going with to the seminar backed out. I'm trying to find others to go with me, but I realize that there's a limited appeal for a meal and seminar on botulism and skin diseases. Few people can handle looking at slides of nasty diseases while eating Italian food.

AAADD - KNOW THE SYMPTOMS

Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder - A.A.A.D.D. - 'Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder'

This is how it manifests itself:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the hall table;
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the waste bin under the table,
And notice that the bin is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the rubbish first.
But then I think, Since I'm going to be near the post box
When I take out the rubbish anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my cheque book off the table,
And see that there is only one cheque left.
My extra cheques are in my desk in the study,
So I go to my desk where I find the cup of tea I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my cheques,
But first I need to push the tea aside, so that I don't accidentally
Knock it over. The tea is getting cold, so I decide to put
It in the kitchen to wash up.
As I head toward the kitchen with the tea,
A vase of flowers on the worktop catches my eye -- they need water.
I put the tea on the worktop and
Discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I'd better put them back on my desk,
But first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the worktop,
Fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
But I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
So I decide to put it back in the sitting room where it belongs,
But first I'll water the flowers .
I go to pour some water in the flowers, but most of it spills on the floor;
So, I set the remote back on the table,
Get some towels and wipe up the spill.
Then, I head down the hall trying to Remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:
The car isn't washed
The bills aren't paid
There is a cold cup of tea sitting on the worktop
The flowers don't have enough water,
There is still only 1 cheque in my cheque book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day,
And I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem,
And I'll try to get some help for it,
But first I'll check my e-mail....

OK - may be a little 'risk' (Risqué) here...

Have You Ever Danced?

An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio , Texas leading an old tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to clear his parched throat. He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.

The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, 'Hey old man, have you ever danced?' The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, 'No, I never did dance... never really wanted to.'

A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, 'Well, you old fool, you're gonna' dance now,' and started shooting at the old man's feet. The old prospector, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.

When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air.

The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.

The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man's hands, as he quietly said, 'Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?'

The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, 'No sir..... but... I've always wanted to.'

There are a few lessons for us all here:

- Never be arrogant.

- Don't waste ammunition.

- Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.

- Always, always make sure you know who has the power.

- Don't mess with old men, they didn't get old by being stupid.

I just love a story with a happy ending, don't you?

Heidi, what a relief to hear that you are continuing to improve!

MizT, I hope you are feeling much better today!

June, I can't imagine having to sleep on the floor. I'm glad there was a toilet. Can't imagine squatting after sleeping on the floor. I'm glad this experience was preceded by an excellent meal.

Heidi, I hope you found someone to go to the seminar and dinner with you!

Don't think there is any 'risk' (Risqué) here - well maybe, a little...

My goal for 2015 was to lose just 30 pounds. Only 35 more to go.

Ate salad for dinner! Mostly croutons & tomatoes. Really just one big, round crouton covered with tomato sauce. And cheese. FINE, it was a pizza. I ate a pizza.

How to prepare Tofu:
1. Throw it in the trash.
2. Grill some Meat.

I just did a week's worth of cardio after walking into a spider web.

I don't mean to brag but......I finished my 14-day diet in 3 hours and 20 minutes.

A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Senility has been a smooth transition for me.

Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero out they closed school?

Me neither.

I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented....I forgot where I was going with this.

I love being over 50. I learn something new every day.......and forget 5 others.

A thief broke into my house last night......He started searching for money so I woke up and searched with him.

My dentist told me I need a crown. I was like: I KNOW !, Right?

I think I'll just put an 'Out of Order' sticker on my forehead and call it a day.

PS: Sunday, March 13, 2016 began Daylight Saving Time. You didn’t forget to set your bathroom scale back 10 pounds did you?

I just watched the mask. Well, it was on in the background while I read, browsed fb, googled etc. I've decided that gizmo has a mask. He puts it on and goes psycho, dragging things half way around the house that weigh as much as he does, tears up toilet rolls, empties bins, attacks toes, jumps and jumps and generally goes nuts. Then, all of a sudden he is calm and just wants hugs and scratches. Unfortunately that doesn't usually coincide with bed time.

Greetings friends. Still having trouble getting here, it just takes forever to open a page. I usually get tired of waiting and go elsewhere on the internet, or wander away for other chores.

I found bedding plants half price Friday, bought a flat and a half. Planted some of them, begonias, today. Two large containers that sit in the dappled shade in the back garden. Put some petunias in with the greenery left from the daffodils. IF I want blooms again next year, have to leave the green to feed the bulbs, but they can be a bit boring. the red petunias should help.

I had been seeing very small plants come up from last years Asiatic Lilies, thought we would not have many blooms, but just yesterday the HUGE sprouts of the real bulbs came up, yeah. We should have a nice showing of lilies.

I got torenia plants in, mail order. they were clearly marked INFANT PLANTS, and this side up, keep above 32 degrees. Of course they arrived upside down. but I cleaned them up, and planted them, today they have recovered, looking good.

Azaleas are about bloomed out. My watering helper has quit, said her arthritis in leg is aggravated by watering, so just me once again. A bit hard keeping up, but Tanya might be able to help me.

About all, just playing in the garden enjoying it a lot, a bit cool of a morning, and wind is fierce, but being in the sun is great.

More later, meds have me ready for sleep. Hugs to each of you, till later.

Enquiring minds may want to know....

Do you have any idea what Costco's No. 1 seller is? They sell more than a billion rolls of toilet paper a year. That is enough to wrap around the Earth 1,200 times. It would add up to about $400 million worth of toilet paper every year.

We have water again! Gil noticed a dramatic increase in the water bill this month and decided that our water line .... somewhere on the property.... had a leak. So Gil and some workmen searched until they found the area that looked the wettest. Then they turned the water off yesterday morning to work on digging up and fixing the line. Of course, they broke thru' it with the backhoe, so the water couldn't be turned back on overnight. It turned out to be difficult to find the leak. They finally found it a little while ago. The water meter itself is cracked. So the water company has to come in tomorrow to replace it. In the meantime, the water line has been repaired, and the water turned back on overnight. But it's still leaking. And there's a huge hole in the front horse pasture so the water company can get in there easily to replace the meter. And a 40 ft. section of fence was taken down in the horse pasture so equipment can be brought in there THE SHORT WAY instead of driving around thru' gates. And the horses have to be confined so they don't fall in holes, get in people's way, or escape onto the road. AND MY EPIDURAL IS TOMORROW and Gil scheduled a trip out of town tomorrow. What a pain in the rear end.
