BRONI, so nice to see you drop in for a visit!. I hope both your and Pete's health issues can be improved soon. Enjoy your trip to Far North Queensland. I join Julie in hopes that Bella is doing well.

DORA, a good funny , had not heard that exact one before. Nice to have a chuckle over such foolishness hehehe.

Suzi, a wonderful memory for you and T to keep, singing her a lullaby. I am so glad she appreciated it and left you almost teary eyed.

HI to Julie, Heidi, and anyone I missed.

Lunch was great, now I feel a nap coming on. More hugs.

Greetings. Last post in the ether somewhere. Hope you had a lovely birthday MizT - it sounds like a very satisfying day getting organised. Hope those nasty rashes are on their way - good riddance to them.Suzy - how wonderful the things children can say. From T you know it is coming from the heart. Good one DorA. Had me in to start. Heidi - hope IH is helping you -or maybe it is time for a trade-in?? Good to hear from you Broni - was up your way a few weeks back - beautiful weather. Not like here - cold, wet and miserable. My brother and partner are off on the grey nomad thing again to FNQ for 2+ months - wish it was me. Hello Julie and June and anyone I have missed. Cheers for now

Hi Midge, you sound bright and cheery, except for the Melbourne weather. We lived there for 12 years so I understand!
Saw Doc today and had an injection in my thumb. That is so that , hopefully, I will be able to hold the bowl tomorrow when I play. I would love the arthritis to go away so I could knit and sew again.
Doc also told me I have to exercise more ie walk at least 10 000 steps and not the 4000 to 6000 I normally do.
We will have the Melbourne part of the family here next weekend for Belinda's 50th. birthday. Busy cleaning up and getting ready.
great to hear from Broni. Enjoy your next lot of travels.
Suzy, you should keep a note of all the cute things the grandkids say.
I was driving home from the shops one day and Sharon (who had a reasonable voice) was singing the National Anthem with Laura who had not started school at that time. I just wished that I had been able to video it.

After today the hours of sunlight will get longer. Although it takes a week to gain 2 minutes. Should be sunny today with max. temp of 17*c. Not too bad for a winters day.

June, I was bright and cheery - finally leaving work at a reasonable time and off to my eldest son's unit to watch GOT. Hubby and I were stuck in the Office until 8.30pm Saturday night - not like the old Sat. nights. A needle in your thumb sounds horrible - hope it helps. A friend of mine swore by Emu Oil - maybe it was just the massaging that helped but she regained a lot of use in her hands. She passed when she was 89 and had not been to a Dr since she had her children. Incredible lady. Do you have one of those Fit type bands? My son is going to get me one off the internet (about $30) except I don't know if my skin will like it too much. My aim is to eventually do the 1000 steps - a popular climb in the Dandenongs just down the road from our place.
Heidi - how are you now? When is your next epidural? Back to work - cheers to all.

Desert Love Story

Once upon a time, there was a very handsome
male camel with two huge camel humps.

He fell in love and married a beautiful female
camel who had one perfect camel hump.

As time progressed, they became the proud parents
of a wonderful baby camel who had no humps.

They thought long and hard on what to call their
beautiful little boy. They finally decided on . . .
(You ready for this?)

'Humphrey'!
Oh, stop whining, it's a nice story and better than
some of the junk I've sent you.

And, speaking of junk...

An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake.
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, 'Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?'

The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.

In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says,

'Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, Given that you are blind, that you should know five things:

1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.

2. The bouncer is a blonde girl.

3. I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.

4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.

5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.

Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy. Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?'

The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, 'No...not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times.

LOVE the second one, DOrA!!!

Having been a zookeeper who loves camels, I have a hard time wrapping my imagination around a two humped Bactrian camel from Asia crossing with a single humped Dromedary camel from Africa..... since they're different species that can't interbreed.

I need to have one of the older collies put to sleep tomorrow. Jack (a rescue) has gotten badly arthritic and senile, refuses to go outside and has completely forgotten what housebreaking is about. The messes on the carpets and tile floors are horrendous. When he isn't relieving himself on the rugs, he's eating, drinking or sleeping. Nothing else. I feel like I have no other choice.

Greetings friends, Today was another of my extended birthday celebrations. Sister took me out to lunch, brought me flowers with dirt and books. We found a new oriental restaurant with excellent service, fresh veg and BIG shrimp in my shrimp with vegetables choice. I brought enough home for dinner too. Since parking is such a hastle for visitors here, sis just dropped me off at the door. As she drove away I realized I did not have my keys! I tried to catch her attention as she drove around the lot on way to the exit, no luck. Started calling her cell, she did not answer. I went in and borrowed a key from the front office and at least got into my apartment, but NO key to the building door, or my car keys. All my identification and debit cards in the pouch attached to keys. Well, in about 15 minuets after I got into apartment, she phones me. 'did you call me?' Only about 8 times, but her phone was in her purse, and purse was in back seat of the car. Yes, she had my keys, and returned them to me. WHEW, very happy to have those again.

Don't think I mentioned, I have another new house cleaner, this time at a different time and day of week. I like both a lot. The 4:30 till 6:30 is late enough I can still do any necessary errands, attend any programs offered here, and be here for the appointment. I think she and I shall get along just fine.

Time for evening meds and to bed. I did read, and thought of each of you. Hugs to each, with extras, till next time.

Last night went well. A few of Belinda's frinds did not come because of the cold so we had way too much food. Actually we were not cold as there was an open fire outside which some people stood around (and toasted gigantic marshmallows), a covered area with two gas outdoor heaters and a pot belly burning inside. Our car was covered in ice when we left to come home and we have a frost here this morning. We generally only get a few frost each year. Today we are having a family only lunch at a restaurant.

JUNE, I know just what you mean, wanting the arthritis to go away so we can once again do the things we once did. I did not knit, but crochet, and sew and applique, crewel embroidery, DESIGN AND MAKE QUILT TOPS. nOW SEWING ON A BUTTON IS A CHALLENGE, DO IT ON A GOOD DAY. aT LEAST THERE ARE STILL GOOD DAYS. hOPE THE INJECTION TO THUMB WAS SUCCESSFUL. Sorry for the caps, don't know how that happened, but we can blame arthritis

I could send some warmth down under, we have an excess at the moment, but you must take the humidity also. It is like walking into a sauna, trying to breathe through a sponge, that kind of humid. Had a very nice short lived storm yesterday, lots of wind, blew some of my containers over, once again. I sat out on covered patio the entire hour of the rain, enjoyed so very much. Then made a dash outside as soon as it slacked a bit to set the pots of flowers right again.

JUNE, I am sad knowing our days are now getting shorter. Have not noticed it yet, probably will not for another month or so.

DORA, love the Humphrey joke, I got a nice chuckle. And you are correct, better than some of your offerings hehehe.

Julie, when you get a chance, share with us some of the activities keeping you so busy, please. So glad you do drop in daily.

June, sorry the cold weather kept friends from the party. sounds as if the ones who braved the weather had a good time, though. Enjoy the family celebration at restaurant.

Heidi, has Jack been put down? Sounds as if it was time, hope it went well. Will be thinking of you tomorrow for the epidural, hope it is a doozy.

I do not know why it takes so long for a page to open for me, here in Sudoku Land. That is one reason I do not get here as often as I once did.

I can now start working on files, Joy brought file folders and hanging files thingies, modified the cabinet so they would fit. Now to start cleaning out my secretary desk, all of the things just stuffed in there, out of sight. A bit every day and I hope to get it done this year.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Midge, your family don't like to stay home, do they? I hope you get to retire and travel soon too.

June, I can't imagine a needle in the thumb. Ouch! I hope it was worth it. I'd watch a video of Laura and Sharon singing! Even that long ago videoing wasn't as common though. At least it is still remembered.

RIP Jack.

Sorry you had to say goodbye to Jack, Heidi. Hope tomorrow is a doozy for you. Maybe time for you to wreck something Gil treasures - he might finally wake up. And buy a cabinet with a big lock and one key. June glad all went well with Belinda's b'day. Yesterday my family (including sister and her partner) went out for lunch for mine. This was one b'day I thought I would never reach so it was a good day. On my 60th Drs. called hubby in to say goodbye to me so to reach another 5 is wonderful. Wish you were here MizT - I need someone to organise me. Glad you are having an extended b'day. Our children gave me a voucher for the ferry to Tasmania so I think I will try to make it a family weekend. Just love Hobart. There are so many lovely places to see and things to do - except not much is open after 8.30pm. Have been to Mona (contemporary museum) a few times and looking forward to seeing the new exhibits. Salamanca market, better stop dreaming and get back to work. Very cold here for the past few days, actually had a tiny bit of snow before the hail last Friday - how is it your way Suzy? Hello to DorA and Julie - hope all is good, cheers for now.

Cold here too Midge! Happy birthday! I'm very glad the docs were wrong on your 60th!

Raining again. Not hard though. I saw my head doc for the last time today. She's not going to do the commute anymore. She will refer me to another person. Her mind reading abilities were on the fritz today and she didn't pick up on my distraction techniques. I forgive her because it's her last day and I'm very good at distracting people.

Greetings friends,

We had a brief break from the heat yesterday. A long string of T storms just east of us, and we got the breeze and the cool from it. When I saw temp listed as 76 with a nice breeze, I went down to sit on patio and enjoy it! Apartment got cool enough I could cook, made spaghetti sauce that I can freeze in small portions. It was yummy for dinner.

Thinking of Heidi, hope the epidural is under way as I type, and it lasts the entire 3 months.

Suzy, just why would you want to distract your doctor? I would think it best to be truthful and let her know what is happening, so she can offer the best treatment for you. Hope the rain was beneficial. We did get a bit of rain late, as the line of t storms moved over our way before dissipating.

JULIE, I do hope all the 'busy' you are having lately is things you enjoy.

MIDGE, do not think Gil would ever relate something of his being wrecked with all the things of Heidi's he has wrecked. Just do not see that happening. I just hope Heidi finds a way to get him to pay for a new drill.

Midge, I am not great at organizing, if I were there would not be the mess I have now . I do think it is because I am having less pain, and a bit clearer mind, can focus better. And I found a way to do this in bits and pieces. I sorted one thick stack of papers yesterday, and made 5 files to hold things I sorted. I bring the files to table to put the papers into them, NO WAY I can bend over file cabinet to do it. And I love the tabs on the hanging files, I can move them as I need. Can even make sub files, for all the different letters I get from insurance. So far I have 3 sub files for that , might need more.

I have been waiting almost a week for Tanya to come and go to wal mart with me. She is having a rough patch now, not wanting to get out in crowds. I need to go, so today I will make the trip. If she needs me to go with her later this week, I can go again. this has happened before, took a while to resolve, I am hopeful it levels out once again.

AAGGGHH, big vent. The lady in charge of the cleaning service I use is the most disorganized. Phoned me last night, Sunday night, to change day and time once again! At least I kept the same person, Stephanie. Once again told me this would now be my permanent day and time. Same thing I heard last week and the week before. It is now Thursday and not as late as before, but hopefully will be as convenient. Other residents are just dropping the service, cannot deal with the changes. At the price we pay for this service, I will keep it, as long as they send me someone who can operate a broom and my steam mop.

HI, Everyone!

Heidi, I'm so sorry it was time for Jack to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Our vet told us the cat would let us know when she was ready. Seems like Jack let you know in his way.

Hooray for a good epidural, Heidi! I hope it lasts!

MizT, I hope the new cleaning person and time work out and stay the same for quite a while! Seems you have been very busy and trying to keep plants watered and upright! What a relief that your sister realized that your purse & keys were in her car before she got too far away!

DOrA, I enjoyed your stories (and didn't groan a bit)!

Happy Birthday, Midge. Enjoy the ferry to Tasmania when you find time to take it!

June, I hope you (and your thumb) are feeling better. The birthday party for Belinda sounds like fun! I wish we could send you some of our heat and you could share some of your cold!

My apologies if I missed saying hello or responding to anyone!

Suzy, we could use some of your rain and hope it would cool off the 100+ 'feels-like' temperatures we've been having!

My high school class celebrated our 50th reunion over the weekend with several events. I grew up in a small town. Over 4 years of high school a total of about 125 students came and went. Ninety-two graduated. Since then, 20 have passed. I think 58 (and spouses/significant others) attended over the 3 days of celebration. Some came for the first time in 50 years! I think all of us who attended enjoyed ourselves.

Cell phone and internet service in my home town is spotty. While we were there, the only phone call that came through and we were later able to respond to was from my cello teacher/friend's older daughter letting us know that she passed Friday night. The older daughter was in a plane on her way home, and the younger daughter was in Bali teaching (and won't be home until Wednesday. For some reason, it seems that one phone call was meant to come through. A large concert honoring my friend was scheduled for July 3 at the beginning of the music camp (which she started 30 years ago and hubby and I helped with for about the first 10 or 12 years). It has been decided that the concert will go on as planned as a celebration of her life. Almost 70 cellists will be playing.

And now, off to bed, as the alarm is set for 5 and we have another day of multiple doctor appointments, including the 4th follow-up to hubby's cataract surgery last Monday. We hope we and the doctor will soon be happy with the results, but right now things aren't quite what was expected.

Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , prayers, healing energy, and positive thoughts for everyone!

While talking to my pain management doc today, the discussion got around to my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He told me that there is now an over the counter CURE for Chronic Fatugue caused by Epstein-Barr, like I have. He wrote down the name for me, I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow, once I can drive again. The thought of getting some energy, and not sleeping 'round the clock any more thrills me! He said it'll take at least 2 weeks before I start seeing any improvement at all.

Julie - sorry to hear of your teacher and friend's passing. You have mentioned her may times and your concert sounds like a wonderful celebration in her honour. Heidi - great you will have the chance of overcoming CFS. I wish you well. Suzy - hope your new head dr can bring new light on your problems. Sometimes a change is all for the good. June - how's your thumb? Hello Mizt, Broni, DorA and everyone else. Off to the city today for lunch and a quick visit to the casino. We do this two or three times a year usually but this will be our first for 2016. At least we have saved some money....
