A little risky, not(Risqué), But, I can't help myself...

A man goes to
see his Rabbi. 'Rabbi, something terrible is
happening and
I have to talk to you about
it.'
The Rabbi asked, 'What's
wrong?' The man replied, 'My wife is
going to poison me.'
The Rabbi, very surprised by
this, asks, 'How can that be?'
The man then
pleads, 'I'm telling you, I'm certain she's
going to poison
me. What should I
do?'
The Rabbi then
offers, 'Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I'll
see what I can find out and I'll let you
know.'
A week later the Rabbi calls the
man. He says, 'I spoke to your wife on the phone
for three hours.
You want my
advice?'
The man said, 'Yes' and the
Rabbi replied, 'Take the poison.'

MizT, I love the service dog story! Tahli isn't a runner, at the moment, but I will definitely remember that for if things change. I'm imagining the freedom that gave his parents. So many more things they could do! Even shopping with only one present would be a relief.

DorA, I've heard that credit card joke before and thought the same thing I did this time. What sort of adult still has their father's credit card on their wedding day? Either too young, or too immature, to be married. If I were the groom I'd be calling the marriage off on the spot, and not because she'd be a financial burden. Hmmm. Guess I don't see the humour in that one. Okay, I'm over it....

Love the in a minute one. He's moving is good too.

Have you been saving these for one big hit DorA? I think 'moving' one the best. Credit card a good one too - what dads will do for their daughters!!
Good to see you back MizT. Fuschias in my part of the world grow with very little care. Mine are near our bbq where they get smoked, singed and never watered yet they still bloom. I think they supposedly like sunny positions but mine are still good in semi-shade. Great suggestion about companion dog - does Dana have any pets? Anyone heard from Broni lately? Wonder where she is now - she lives in a great place. Julie - hope hubby continues to improve. When is your next epidural Heidi? Cheers for now.

Hi, Everyone! Just glanced, and see that MizT, Suzy, Midge, and DOrA have all posted, with DOrA perhaps setting a new record for consecutive posts! Congratulations, DOrA! No time to read right now, though.Hopefully, tomorrow, because the rest of the week is extremely full, and I may not even have time to pop in and say hello.

Sending a full supply of healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, positive thoughts, and for everyone!

Midge, your comment back then... I started sounding American too, but only to Australians. Americans still picked me as a foreigner, though they sometimes got the country wrong. I always felt it was because I had to use words that I wouldn't use here, like gas station, trunk, drug store, hood, sidewalk, I even had to say tomayto, tomahto led to blank stares.

Another hot and humid day here, but it is July in Alabama, it is what we expect. We were about 9 to 10 degrees cooler than forecast at my location, Very happy for that.

The ferns are all growing by leaps and bounds. Remember I got 6 ferns from the 2 I had. the slightly smaller of the 2 wa divided into only 2 plants. they went back on the front patio, and are as big now as before the divide. I could divide them come spring! the smallest division has surprised me, really took off and is as big as the other 3 that came from the second fern. Most happy with how they have done this summer.

I am hopin g the 'new' cream I got for rash wil help. It is not new, I have had it before, but was not using that, I had a 'stronger' 2.5$ hydrocortisone cream. This new one has reduced the irritation, inflamation, the redness of the rash on my chest, it is drying up. Keep up the good work. tonight I put it in the edge of my hair, where the second patch of rash and irritated skin is located. Will have to shampoo that out tomorrow.

Scrabble today, I was dead lst first game, although noone had great scores and they were close. Second game all scores were a bit better and I WON that game. Lin brought us delicious cupcakes from her birthday with family. Her daughter makes and sells them, these were chocolate to die for, yummy.

I found some things I want to order for fall clothes, in the end of summer sale! Long or 3/4 sleeves tops, we do not need really heavy fabric, so these summer weight knits, in long sleeves will be perfect, and at a very good savings. 2 or 3 of them are black and white prints, too. black and white is classic, one of my 'go to' looks, summer and winter. I need to check my winter white pants, see if those need replacing and I should be set, the basics anyway.

I did find one short sleeved shirt I am getting. Same shirt I have, different color, cause I love the fabric, the fit and look of it.

DORA, cute joke this page. Must get back a page to read others, I think.

Suzy, yes, the service dog did change thier lives. ne person can take him out now, he can even go into resturants, has a few times even walked to counter and ordered his food, just fries, but that is a big improvement :). does T have food problems? He does, very particular about what he will eat. Fries from one place, but not another. they often buy his food, then take it to restaurant they want to enjoy. His father has very limited food preferences, also. they say that is prevalent with anyone on the spectrum, and I think his father is, know my daughter is, both very high functioning, but a bit of ashbergers to explain their 'differences'. It seems the combination of their two genes, in this grandson, linked the worse of both of them, multiplied 100 fold, to produce the severe case of autism in grandson. Neither were diagnosed, but looking back on their childhoods, many signs were present.

I did not see the last of previous page, hope I can get back to i

I'm not surprised they weren't diagnosed MizT. High functioning can look like bratty behaviour. Even knowing Tahli's diagnosis hubby has said stuff like she's just being a brat.

I love your restaurant story. Tahli is a very fussy eater, what is okay one day she won't touch the next. She'll eat a huge bowl of cereal one week and have to be bribed to eat just a few bites the next. And that's here. At home she wants sandwiches all the time. We have to call the evening meal a snack if we want her to even try it.

She doesn't eat in restaurants much, they're expensive here, (I love that your grandson can go to restaurants now! ). White rice and French fries are favourites if we do.

Bizbel is an amazing eater. If you put something in her mouth, she'll eat it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like her body has a 'full' signal. Dana has to make sure she has lots of healthy foods on hand.

Today I managed to get to the site, but an old page is where it opened, so I am posting without reading. I do hope once I post this, it takes me to the current page where I can read.

Hot and hotter, although we are not officially in the area of extreme heat as marked on the weather map. We have hotter temps than some ON the map, but heat advisory is based on a certain number of degrees above our average temps. We are normally hotter than the northern states, so not included. Yesterday and today, the air temps forecast to be 95, that is plenty hot for me.

Need to go to grocery today, Tanya is coming for us to go together. Out of a few essentials, milk, half and half for my coffee, bread. I have meat and vegetables enough for the week, and more, and I have at least 6 more servings of soup in the freezer, I shall eat this week :)

I received my daily quota of fashion catalogues. I have tried to get those discontinued, my name off thier mailing list, but 'it will take 3-4 months to get it removed' and if I order something even from the web site, I am put back on the mailing list. Now I remove my name from the catalogues and leave them in the laundry room. they all seem to disappear, someone welcomes them :).

Must go clean my fridge, so there is room for the groceries when I come home. Everyone have a good day, sending hugs with extras, till next time.

Thoughts from a Senior Mind

Just wanted to share these thoughts from the mind of some senior somewhere who compiled this list of thoughts, some new, some old. Enjoy~!

(some of Y’all may consider some of them risky (Risqué))

The location of your mailbox shows you how far away from your house you can be in a robe before you start looking like a mental patient.

My therapist said that my narcissism causes me to misread social situations. I’m pretty sure she was hitting on me.

My 60 year kindergarten reunion is coming up soon and I’m worried about the 175 pounds I’ve gained since then.

I always wondered what the job application is like at Hooters. Do they just give you a bra and say, “Here, fill this out?”

Denny’s has a slogan, “If it’s your birthday, the meal is on us.” If you’re in Denny’s and it’s your birthday, your life sucks!

The pharmacist asked me my birth date again today. I’m pretty sure she’s going to get me something.

I can’t understand why women are okay that JC Penny has an older women’s clothing line named, “Sag Harbor.”

I think it's pretty cool how Chinese people made a language entirely out of tattoos.

What is it about a car that makes people think we can't see them pick their noses?

Money can’t buy happiness, but it keeps the kids in touch!

The reason Mayberry was so peaceful and quiet was because nobody was married. Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Earnest T Bass, Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara and, of course, Opie were all single. The only married person was Otis, and he stayed drunk.

Like your border crossings DorA - US is similar to Australia. My daughter's now ex (from Scotland) - cost me over $3000 to have his visa extended yet if he floated into our waters, he would have been given a house, income and $10,000 worth of whitegoods to start up. (Ebay did well from this one as every adult received the money and hence a family of two adults received double, 3 adults etc.) Also free education, medical treatment and the list goes on. What are the idiots thinking of? We don't even have to work for the dole - yet if I do two jobs to make ends meet I get taxed so heavily it is not worth while.

Greetings friends, on another sunny hot Sunday morning. We had a wittle shower yesterday afternoon, not enough to be a cooling influence, though.

Tanya came over to help downstairs, the residents association sponsored an ice cream social. She helped serve ice cream. I had baked a pork tenderloin roast, we had a nice lunch before the ice cream, My house smelled so good, rosemary pork cooking, yummy.

Still itching, the rash on chest and hairline is drying up with the newest of the creams. I should probably let the doc know Monday, find out if this itch is ever going to resolve or not. Areas now itching show no rash, but the itch is very bothersome. It gets worse if I get hot and sweat, which is easy to do, just set foot out the door, into the sauna we call July weather.

Once again, I got to an old page, so posting without reading, just to say HERE I IS

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till I can get to the current page and read.

Hello everyone.
It has been months since I have posted, so here goes with a long overdue chat.
Thanks for the Happy B'day wishes for June 2nd. My 62nd came and went and I feel no different from 10 yrs ago. The knee gets worse as the yrs go by, but while it is bearable, I will put off the replacement.
Many of you have had very sad and happy times, and silently I felt for you as I read.
The passing of Ouima, really upset me, as it did all of us here. I lost a long post, thanking her for the heartfelt hospitality she showed Paul and I, and she never knew how grateful we were, to be privileged to meet her and some of her family. Her beautiful, wise words, were from a true LADY.
I have taken Tricias advice, by saving in word, to copy in sudoku.
Some of the posts here, were so close to my own life, that I felt if I also mentioned it, it would be like asking for attention. Not so, thus, I didn't post.

None of our side of the family, see Pauls 3 boys after the marriage break down. Hopefully, they will one day, see 2 sides to a story. Paul has Aspergers Syndrome which he is finding hard to get treatment for. I knew from the age of 3 yrs, that something was wrong, but it is only recently, that you can get accurate assessments. My parenting skills were questioned by everyone.
Renae just turned 40yrs.....so hard to believe. . Her Hubby is also a stay at home Father, with such patience and a better person, you could never find.
Today, I took Pauls dog back to the vet, to get stitches out for cancerous lumps. Also got him desexed, plus 1 tooth removed. The boxer is, Pauls 8 yr old dog, that we inherited, when Paul moved home.

I will try to post more often, but I have said that before.

So good to see you posting Nola. So sorry you do not get to see your 3 boys - I hope Paul gets to see them. Also hope you do not have to wait too long-it is hard when children are affected by the adults relationship. Aspergers was not really known all those years ago - only very severe cases were picked up. Don't let anyone question your parenting ability. We all did what we thought best and no-one has the right to challenge it. One thing to think of - how long does the replacement last? 80-85% for 20 years? A lot of pain in waiting. My sister's partner has had 1 knee and 1 hip replacement and is waiting for the others - can't come soon enough. He is doing water exercises every second day at the local pool - that helps his weight but not the walking. He was fantastic after his first surgery but that also put pressure on the other knee and hip.
Heidi - how many horses do you have? Any more foals? Hubby and I have bought a share in a racehorse which should be ready to race towards the end of this year - she has an infection in her hind leg and is on a long holiday. The last one we had was part of a syndicate that went bankrupt(not ours) and we bought the horse to save it from going to the knackery. Eventually found a great home on a farm for her - she is so gentle - loves having her tummy swept with a broom. She is now about 16 years old.
MizT - hope your rashes and itching are on the improve- sounds dreadful. Work calls, cheers for now.

Nice to see your post here Nola. You have had a lot to cope with over the years. So pleased that you got to see Ouima. Something many of us would have like to have done.
Midge, my daughter breeds horses, but warm bloods for dressage. She has another on the way which I think will be her forth foal. Problem is she gets attached and does not sell them. Not sure I would want to own a race horse!
Five years today since we lost Sharon. The time has gone so fast and Laura is growing up so quickly. We all miss Sharon so much (and especially when we have computer problems)
Had my hair cut today but Ken will be late home so no going out or anything.
I have been doing some clothes shopping. I need to do a lot of alterations to some of my clothes and buy quite a few new ones. A couple of shirts I bought a few months ago just hang on my and look awful!

Sudoku land opened to an old page today, so nothing new to read. I will take advantage og the comments screen to check in this morning.

Today is cloudy with a fine mist falling. Just enough to dampen the parking lot, but not under the trees or under the cars. It was the first day in over a month I got watering done without breaking a sweat. Nice and cool, enjoyed watering the plants this morning.

Yesterday I spent a couple of hours giving new resident Brian a tour of the gardens. He is a gardener also, and will be helping. He is willing to do some of the things that are hardest for me to do, like weeding and deadheading, anything that requires me to bend the low back to get to it. I can only imagine how nice our gardens and containers will look with this increase in man hours. Next trip to the big box store, I need to get him his own pair of clippers. I cannot leave mine in our storage area, small things disappear from there.

For the second day this week, city workers have blocked the road in front of EP, blocked our entrance to the parking lot, digging up the road to access some big black pipes underground. Only entrance now is through the alley, and involves going the wrong way through the one way traffic flow, to exit the car park. Hope they finish today, and wonder why they are digging back up just where they had it opened Monday.

Phoned my rheumatologist yesterday, needed a refill on a medication they had me increase to two a day. I also asked for something for this infernal itching, yep, still a big bother. Pharmacy is sending out both this morning, and of course insurance does not pay for either of them. I have dropped some serious coins at pharmacy this month. I am just so happy I am able to afford them.

I also phoned the pain clinic, to try to schedule back injections. They have still not returned my call. Typical of them, bummer. If they do not phone today, I will go down there tomorrow morning before it is too hot. I have had to do that a few times before. It is a good thing it is one block away and I can travel in the power chair.

This afternoon is scrabble, hope everyone can make it today. We had talked earlier about ordering a pizza for after scrabble, perhaps today. Last pizza was months ago, when we ordered one before.

I bought a new door hanging online. Many of us keep something on our door. I wanted something for summer, I had spring, fall, Christmas, Valentines day decorations, and a few other, but nothing for summer. I found a wreath of red and yellow sun flowers at a reasonable price and ordered it through Amazon. When it arrived, first I noticed was the box was rectangular, not square, as you would ex[ect for a round wreath to fit. Hoped the circle was of diameter of the smaller demention, but nope. they had squshed it out of shape to fit into a too small box. About half an hour or fiddling with it, I got it back round and the flowers rearranged so there were no bare spots. So far this seller has

just barely went over the word limit today. Here is the rest.

So far this seller has not asked for feed back, but if they do, I shall let them know what a bother it was to remake this wreath. Now it has been rearranged, I do like it, very summer looking, should take me into fall easily.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, and I will try to get here to read.

Comments on the new posts I found: Nola glad to see you posting. never think that posting here is asking for attention, even when sharing that something similar has happened in your own life. I think that lets the original poster know you understand more what they have experienced, not seeking attention. Not well written on my part, but I hope you understand. Ouima's passing hit us all hard. she was such a large part of sudokuland, and she is greatly missed. Do come back and post more often, we miss you. It seems you do drop in to read, so a little HERE I IS kind of post would be fine, just let us know you are OK, please.

Midge, I agree, Asperger was not recognized for a much longer time than autism. People had no idea what you were experiencing, as you tried to work your own way through dealing with an Asperger child, Nola.

OK, posting before this goes long. Since earlier post Lin phoned to say she could not make it down for scrabble today, not enough breath for the walk down. Pain clinic still has not phoned and it is now just after noon here. pharmacy just delivered my new itch medication, now to look it up before taking first dose. Hugs again.

The repairman spent hours and hours working on the a/c. He has it partially working, which is better than nothing, but it's far from operating at 100%.... and it's less than a year old..... so still under warranty. Hi all,
June, huge hugs.
Suzy, Pauls dog is now bouncing around happily since the stitches were removed. Before that he did a lot of shaking his head.
MizT, I hope you can get your computer probs sorted soon. Again, your garden sounds lovely.
Julie, give me some of your energy!
Heidi, bummer about the A/c in those high temps.
Have a great day!
