then phoned friends to join them downstairs. It was such fun. I got the job of serving the sea salt caramel, while Mary served the chocolate. Lots of fun, and most unexpected.
Time to get my day under way today. I came to puter to order a digital timer, I killed mine when I somehow let it get under the George Forman electric grill last week, cooked it's little electronic brain. Yes, I did get one ordered, should be here Tuesday. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

I am now on the 'nothing after midnight' but after repeated trips to the toilet I thought I had better take a gastro stop tablet and have a drink of water. I do not want to get dehydrated.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. The nicest day we have had for ages. I do believe some showers are forecast again for this week.
MizT, why not contact the potting mix company and ask them how to get rid of the white fly that was introduced into your garden after using their product.

Hello, Friends!
I, too, am thinking of June and her medical team, that the port can be installed easily and without discomfort!
June, what a great idea - to have MizT contact the company whose product introduced the white flies to the garden. How frustrating for MizT and helpers after all the work they do to provide beauty for the residents!

MizT, the 'ice cream party' sounds like fun. I think your friends made a good choice of flavors! I think they would go well together.
Will soon head to bed. I can't stay up as late tonight as the past 2 nights, even though I'm not as close to being ready to hand over the tax information as I had hoped to be.

Admitted at 8.30am but they did not start the procedure till 11 AM. Came home at 2.30 PM. I am rather sore tonight. They left the cannula in so it can be used tomorrow. Also I have a lot of that waterproof dressing which is pulling on my skin. I might have done a bit much tonight as well. I bought a cauliflower some broccoli and made white sauce. Cooked it all and what is left (most of it) will go in the freezer for when I do not want to cook. I was not supposed to be left by myself for 24 hours but hubby had a board meeting at the bowling club. Felt I was OK by myself (which I am). I also cooked some nice lamb cutlets for dinner.
Not looking forward to starting the chemo tomorrow. It will take about 5 hours. Lucky the hospital is only 10-15 minutes drive.

June, thoughts and prayers winging your way as you go for first of this round of chemo. I hope you have something to entertain yourself during the 5 hour infusion tomorrow. Books on tape to listen to? Music? Perhaps a nap? Huge Hugs friend.
I need to finish cleaning my kitchen. I made baked spaghetti today, put half in the freezer, ate one of the 4 servings I have in fridge. Made with spaghetti squash instead of pasta, and it was yummy. But I did not finish with the clean up.
I ordered the mulch I wanted, and some potting soil, fertilizer , hose repair kit, and then did not go today to pick them up. T storms in the area again, hope I can get there tomorrow before the t storms pop up again.

Another six hours at the hospital. My brain is not working very well so excuse any mistakes I do not correct. I have a bum bag containing the infusion chemo. It is sensitive to cold and I cannot consume anything colder than room temperature. Went to get some chicken soup out of the freezer and nearly froze the ends off my fingers. Learnt that lesson very quickly. Think I may have to find my ski gloves. Feel a bit off but it often takes a day or two for the effects to surface. I took some plain knitting. A jumper for Laura. Almost knitted one sleeve to the arm hole. I wanted something I did not have to concentrate on. I am not into listening to music and I need a book propped up high or it affects my neck.
We have the accountant coming tonight to do our taxes. Fortunately he will only need me to sign the papers at the end.

I had some birthday/Christmas money that has been tucked away for a quite few years so I bought an air fryer on line. It was delivered today so I now have to learn to use it. My diets (diabetic and Cancer)both say little or no fat. I will have to teach Ken to use it as well.

June, I'm so sorry your procedure didn't start until 11. Sometimes makes you wonder what the scheduler is thinking when they come up with such a start time. Will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes and warm, friendly thoughts your way for the start of this round of chemo. Hoping you have something to keep you pleasantly occupied during the five hours! Our thoughts are for it to go as smoothly as possible and with few or no side effects! Will be keeping you in my prayers!
MizT, your baked spaghetti sounds wonderful. I still have not ever made a spaghetti squash. I think it's time! I hope the weather cooperates tomorrow so you can pick up all of the gardening supplies prior to the thunderstorms!
Heidi, I hope the thunderstorms don't arrive over night. The dogs need to let you get your sleep! Is the calving over, or do you need to do checks, hopefully timing them during a quiet period.
Still working on tax preparations. Can you tell I hate this? Still trying to gather the rest of the information we need. It was either never sent, or not received, or arrived and not filed properly during the hospital stays. Frustrating!

it was not the best of evenings. I was given extra medication for the diarrhoea but it was not completely successful. Neither was the anti nausea. The nothing cold worked as I went to get the frozen chicken soup out of the freezer I thought I had frost bite and would lose my finger tips! And to top it all the infusion pump is not working so I will have to go back to the hospital in the morning. It has chemo drugs so I am not game to fiddle with the attachments. I remember all the instruction if it leaks but not what to do if it does not work.
Had a toasted sandwich for dinner and just got up and had two pieces of toast. Feel OK now. Also a drink as I do not want to dehydrate.
I am also sore where they inserted the port.
Thinking of you as well Suzy. I still feel in shock over Don's death.

Greetings to All, and special warm greetings and {{{HUGS}}} to Suzy, June, and Broni!
Suzy, I'm glad you are letting others help with arrangements for the memorial! It would be immensely difficult to plan by yourself! I suspect it's good for those who are doing the planning to have the opportunity to share thoughts and memories with each other and know that their efforts are much appreciated! We will be with you in spirit and surrounding you with cyber {{{HUGS}}}, warmth, love and strength!
June, I was hoping all would go well and this would not be problematic. Unfortunately, it seems that so much that could go wrong has gone wrong. Hopefully, all will be put right and there will be no further glitches! I'm glad to hear that you were beginning to feel less nauseous and were keeping hydrated. Sending {{{HUGS}}} for all to go well.
Broni, thinking of you and hoping you and Pete are doing well! I assume that you have read the Rainbow Bridge, but if not, please let me know, and I'll post it here for you.
Hoping everyone else is doing well, and that the thunderstorms have passed on by Heidi and MizT without causing problems!
Hello to everyone else I haven't mentioned. My head is so full of tax information. I hope to finish up tomorrow and get it to the accountant! Then perhaps I'll be able to get a good night's sleep, and a couple of short practice sessions on the cello.

heard from DoA and he started his treck today. No other news.
Did not sleep well last night. Was sick a few times. Even lost the toast I had enjoyed earlier.
Felt much better this afternoon and enjoyed my roast chicken dinner tonight. Will have a lot to learn about using the air fryer.
It is hot tonight and I cannot use the AC as one of the drugs makes me have problems with cold. I have put it on in the bedroom and will then turn it off before I go to bed.
by the way the infusion drip is working. It will be removed tomorrow.

Just a quick hello to everyone!
We had a very busy day. Both of us saw the chiropractor this morning; hubby had a doctor appointment this afternoon; on our way home we had to make a side trip to pick up things for the wood turning club. Then some final adjustments to the tax information & rushed to the accountant with it (just before he closed at 5 p.m.) Grabbed a bite to eat, then to an Education Committee meeting for wood turners. Both the Chair of the committee and person currently assigned to take notes at the meeting were unable to attend, so hubby was asked to chair the meeting and I returned to my former position as secretary. The minutes of the meeting will need to wait until tomorrow! And now, off to bed.
June, thanks for letting us know that DOrA has begun his 'walk-about.' I hope he is well-prepared and has adequate supplies! What a shame that you were sick during the night, but so glad you felt better in the afternoon and enjoyed dinner. I hope you will be able to be comfortable and sleep well overnight!
Heidi, hoping you will continue to get as much sleep as needed and will soon be feeling much better!
Broni, this may sound strange, but I'm glad you were able to have a good cry. You have had a lot to deal with. I also hope the flash flooding stays far away from you and you continue to be safe!
Sending healing energy,

Hi, Everyone!
June, I hope you were able to get your blood pressure to a more normal level! Hubby's dropped at the beginning of the month. It has happened occasionally before & he was able to drink a glass of water, get some rest, & it would come back up. That time it didn't happen. We kept monitoring through the day & called the doctor mid-afternoon. He's in a 'health-care system' so calls go into a centralized answering system. They referred his call to a nurse on duty, who decided he should go to the ER. After an EKG, some blood test & continued monitoring, they decided to admit him over night for continued monitoring and an echo cardiogram in the morning. Everything came back OK, so they just decided he was dehydrated. I know you have been conscious of keeping hydrated, but it still could have been what caused the drop. I hope you're feeling MUCH better now!
I hope all is well with MizT. Perhaps her computer issues have continued or returned.
Thinking of Suzy & sending love, strength & {{{{HUGS}}}} for the weekend & Don's memorial. Just imagine us all surrounding you & sharing our strength & support with you, Suzy!
Spent the day updating records for the wood turning club & sending updates to club officers and committee chairs. Tonight I spent hours typing up the minutes of the Wednesday night meeting. I sent them to another member to proof & let me know if I missed anything important. I want to get them to the committee chair as soon as possible, since he couldn't be there and he has surgery on his hand on Tuesday.
I'm about to head to bed. Sending everyone lots of positive vibes, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy,

June, I'm so glad you posted with an update! Taking your blood pressure at home can be helpful - both to keep you aware AND to have information to provide to your doctor. My day. My niece drove me to Wollongong and i answered a bunch of questions about Don and signed off on his cremation. It will probably happen sometime next week. The lady was lovely and gave me some feedback on the kinds of things I will be trying to say tomorrow.
Then we went to pick up Alie because I assumed she'd have all the photos scanned. I don't know what she got up to last night, but right now I'm not expecting to have anything to show tomorrow. She's still up there. I'll have to meet the train later, so no wine :-(
Then I bought chook food I was supposed to buy 2 days ago,. Then I went to council to pick up a Projector for the slide show that might not happen.

One good thing today. A hen was sitting on eggs, one of them hatched. It was lying very still outside of the nesting box. But not dead. Mum ran off so I held the little one close for about an hour, keeping it warm. It started chirping and moving around! I've put it under a lamp, in a fluffy sock, with food and water. It is intermittently sleeping and chirping. Not eating or drinking though so I won't know until morning if it is saved.

Hi, Everyone! A special Hello to anyone not mentioned in the following comments!
June, you have made the correct decision. The long drive to and from Don's memorial would not be good right now. I'm sure Suzy knows that ALL of us would be there if it were at all possible! Right now, you must take care of yourself Sending {{{HUGS}}} and
!
Suzy, you had a long day, and accomplished a lot. Don't fret about whether there will be a slide show. If it's meant to be, it will happen. I'm sure if it's at all possible, Alie will have it prepared. Sometimes the best laid plans just don't work out. Either way, people who want to be with you and share memories will be able to do that! I hope you'll be able to draw strength from our warm cyber {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!
We're pulling for the little baby chick that you 'took under your wing' to warm it and provide food & water. I know nothing about the care and feeding of chickens, so can be of no help, other than encouragement.

Hubby's memorial went well. There were lots of compliments. My brother spoke, I spoke. We showed the slideshow, more people spoke, Alie sang. There were stories of how he was irreplaceable, nobody has as wide a skill set as he does. A couple were funny because I knew the back story and they didn't. Apparently when he got back to work after lunch every day he would say I want to be a cowboy. I knew that is code for I'm sick of this sh1t, but they just thought it was a funny thing to say. Every day when he left work he said, I'll see you Monday. Every day. What they didn't know was that early in his career they pulled that on a workmate and he actually didn't show up for work the next day because he thought it was the weekend. It was an awesome day. I cried a lot, but not too much. Weird thing. I got a card and a gift voucher from someone and I have no clue who she is. I'm guessing I should know so I'm not asking, I'll google her or something.

Weirder thing. My other brother's family sent flowers. I'm not sure if my brother sent it or one of his sons. Someone asked if he was coming and I said I hope not. And I meant it. It's that old saying, you can choose your friends but not your family.

Checking in to say ' Here I is'. No good reason for my absence, just a bit busy here.
I did get the gardening supplies I needed, and 3 of the 4 bags of mulch into the bed. Ran out of steam, an that took a couple days to get over.
u r flowering trees and shrubs are not flowering this year. that 2 days of cold killed off all the flower buds, but we do have an abundance of woods violets and climbing roses. So many buds I fear when they bloom out they will be too heavy and break the branches, but oh what a show!
I did read and thought of everyone, just not able to reply at the moment. Huge Hugs to each of you, with extras.
