So true Julie, we always think of our children as kids - my eldest is 41 June 3rd but still a kid to me. Suzy - nicknames can be fun. Actually saw no. 2 son's phone with my no. in it under the wonderful nickname of 'Mama Battle Axe' - he makes me laugh. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Nola - you won't know yourself soon. June - they were mixed results. When I was on chemo, I was exhausted all of the time and couldn't sleep for more than a short time - had nanna naps without being a nanna!! But most importantly, your body is telling you to rest. Watch the boring t.v., that may help you to doze. Hope all is going well with IH Heidi - I feel for you having him in the same area as you. Mizt - would love to see some of your garden work, you do so much. How is Tania? Hope she is doing well again. I have been nurturing a so-called lemon tree for the past 8 years anxiously waiting for lemons to appear. Finally did this year and they turned out to be mandarins!! can't win - my 3rd lemon tree with no results. Just back from a week in Brisbane - beautiful weather, work and pleasure. Met some owners of a horse racing at Eagle Farm and they gave us owner's tickets so we hobnobbed it with the elite - they certainly are a different breed. If I put a plum in my mouth I might sound like them haha. Dora like your little saying - I too am glad every day when I wake up. Go to court for a Directional Hearing on Thursday for my med negligence claim. Not looking forward to that. Best wishes to all

At the picnic on Saturday (that got hit with a thunderstorm) I got to listen to more neighbors telling me how much they can't stand ex-IH's girlfriend. She has sure made herself unpopular. I'm enjoying this.

Greetings!
Midge, I apologize for taking the last post on the previous page and leaving you with the page turn. I hadn't even looked at the number, so didn't realize what I had done. Even so, your post works well for a TOPP! Good luck with the Directional Hearing on your medical negligence claim.
Heidi, I'm glad you felt well enough to go to the picnic on Saturday! Seems IH has received his 'Just Desserts.'
To anyone who doesn't go to Facebook, Tami's Dad died this morning. Just thought I should let you know.

Gizmo loves our chickens, especially the youngest one. I've just moved it out of its little cage into the bigger one with the other chickens. Twice we've caught Gizmo 'playing' with it. And by playing I mean throwing it around. No feathers flying or anything, he really is playing. Anyway, today when I checked her after we'd yelled at Gizmo, I noticed that a lot of feathers were missing from her back. When I walked up to her, she jumped off and ran a few feet away. Then she walked right back to me so I could pick her up and pet her. I've put her back into the little cage so she can get a bit stronger and regrow some feathers before she is with the others again. There were no feathers where Giz had been playing with her so I knew it was probably the roosters.

Just to say I am OK. just been busy and then get tired and go to sleep. I sleep early in the evening then I am awake at 2 AM.
I am not enjoying the cold mornings. It is not much fun being 'allergic' to cold.
Off to bed now as the bed is warm with the electric blanket.

They use an ultrasound to locate ''the spot'' on my back. It helps a lot, but the doc still needs me to direct him, too.
I understand being sleepy, June. Yesterday I didn't wake up until 8 pm!!!

Hi, Everyone!
Suzy, I enjoyed the story about Gizmo and the little chicken. Sorry to hear the roosters seem to be picking on it. I'm glad you have a cage that can keep it safe!
June, I'm glad you're able to get some sleep, but sorry it's interrupted in the very early morning hours. Thank goodness for the electric blanket! I'm sure it helps make the cold a bit less uncomfortable.
Heidi, I hope your back is at least maintaining some of the relief since the epidural Hopefully the sleep is somewhat rejuvenating! Do you have enough energy to take care of your animals and birds?
Thinking of MizT and hoping all is well.
Hoping Nola is able to find time for the therapy that follows a total knee replacement!
Midge, I hope you and your family are doing well!
Broni, thinking of you and Pete and hoping you're well.
DOrA, I hope you are getting some relief of pain.
It's late, and I'm having difficulty focusing, so I will say Good Night and send

JULIE, here I is. Once again I* did not realize I had been absent for so long. Been busy with gardeni8ng. Did I tell you I bought 6 hanging baskets when on sale? Two of them had a mix of flowers. One was 'polkadot plant' with Impatiens. Impatiens need shade, Polka dot needs several hours of sun. Not compatible, so I took out the 3 polkadot plants and re-potted them. Another with mixed sunlight needs, divided that one also. I got 8 pots.
Not sure if I said someone has taken at least 3 of the flowers and containers. My fushia that I had babied inside all winter is gone, a huge 16 inch pot of white impatiens, and another smaller pot of impatiens. I was very discouraged and ready to give up gardening, so much has happened this year. Lawn care mowed down violets, lantana, and Easter lilies. Insect killed off pansies. Dogs digging in the back garden, cannot put anything in the ground. Found a container that held 6 red salvia with only 4 plants and 2 holes where flowers had been. The two huge Boston ferns did not over winter well, almost died, I have nursed those, now seeing new growth, but still looking so sad. Plus, my back is not wanting me to stand for long, doing the planting and watering from my chair is much harder. I will keep what I have alive, but not buying anything else till late fall and time for pansies again.
OOOPS, out of time, I am picking up and delivering Linn's lunches for her. Advanced COPD, some days just cannot make the trip down to get her meal. she did not make it to scrabble again yesterday
Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Sniffer
A man had just settled into his seat next to the window on the plane when another man sat down in the aisle seat and put his black Labrador Retriever in the middle seat next to the man.
The first man looked very quizzically at the dog and asked, why the dog was allowed on the plane.
The second man explained, 'That he was from the Police Drugs Enforcement Agency and that the dog was a 'sniffing dog'.'
'His name is Sniffer and he's the best there is. I'll show you once we get airborne, when I put him to work.'
The plane took off, and once it has leveled out, the Policeman said, 'Watch this.'
He told Sniffer to search.
Sniffer jumped down, walked along the aisle, and finally sat very purposefully next to a woman for several seconds. Sniffer then returned to his seat and put one paw on the policeman's arm.
The Policeman said, 'Good boy,' and he turned to the man and said, 'That woman is in possession of marijuana, I'm making a note of her seat number and the authorities will apprehend her when we land.'
'Gee, that's pretty good,' replied the first man.
Once again, the Policeman sent Sniffer to search the aisles.
The Lab sniffed about, sat down beside a man for a few seconds, returned to its seat, and this time he placed two paws on the agent's arm. The Policeman said, 'That man is carrying cocaine, so again, I'm making a note of his seat number for the police.'
'I like it!' said his seat mate. The Policeman then told Sniffer to search again.
Sniffer walked up and down the aisles for a little while, sat down for a moment, and then came racing back to the agent, jumped into the middle seat and proceeded to Poop all over the place.
The first man was really disgusted by this behavior and couldn't figure out how or why a well-trained dog would behave like that. So he asked the Policeman, 'What's going on?'
The Policeman nervously replied, 'He's just found a bomb.'

Hi, Everyone!
MIzT, it's nice to 'see' you again. I'm so sorry to hear about people taking advantage of your hard work and removing plants! That is SO very thoughtless, but unfortunately typical of the attitude of too many of our citizens. If you want something, just take it. It's the attitude that each person is THE most important and therefore deserving of whatever they want. Is it something that can be addressed by administrators in a residents' newsletter? It must be so very discouraging for you!
Heidi, how very sad for you! What could have provoked such behavior in your dogs? You must also be very discouraged!
DOrA, your 'Sniffer' story is clever. I didn't see it coming.

I bought Alie's 21st birthday present today. It was hard because hubby was the expert on this present so not only was I second guessing my choice, but it made me think of how much I missed him and how much Alie was going to miss him on the day. I won't tell you what I bought in case she gets curious and grabs my iPad when I'm not looking. I'm permanently logged onto everything on here and my password for the pad has always been the same. I'm not changing it because it's meaningful to me.

I have been very tired the last couple of afternoons. (yesterday morning I was removing bromeliads from the garden. I think my one plant had become 101 and they were climbing up the tree that is dead and has to be removed. This morning I was out from 10am till 4pm. Having coffee with a friend and then watching my club mates play bowls in a competition).
Treatment again tomorrow and I should find out what the tumour markers are doing.

Risqué, but I’ll take a chance…
The Urinal Is Too High:
A group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, accompanied by two female teachers, went on a field trip to the local racetrack, (Churchill Downs) to learn about thoroughbred horses and the supporting industry (Bourbon), but mostly to see the horses.
When it was time to take the children to the bathroom, it was decided that the girls would go with one teacher and the boys would go with the other.
The teacher assigned to the boys was waiting outside the men's room when one of the boys came out and told her that none of them could reach
the urinal.
Having no choice, she went inside, helped the boys with their pants, and began hoisting the little boys up one by one, holding on to their little 'wee-wees' to direct the flow away from their clothes.
As she lifted one little guy, she couldn't help but notice that he was unusually well endowed. Trying not to show that she was staring, the teacher said, 'You must be in the 5th grade.'
'No ma'am he replied, 'I'm riding Silver Arrow in the seventh race, but I appreciate your help.'

Heidi, I read this article and thought of you. This is just a paragraph about. Chronic fatigue syndrome.
But for decades, researchers have struggled to find an underlying cause, leading to an assumption by many doctors that it's 'not a real disease'. Now, Australian researchers have blown that myth wide open, showing for the first time that CFS is linked to a faulty cell receptor in immune cells.
Still trying to find a good test for diagnosis and a good treatment. I don't know if this link will work, but I'll put it here anyway.

June, I go over town most days just to make sure I'm out and about a bit. I've been invited to the movies etc, but can't do that yet. Its motivating reading how active you are even with how exhausting your treatment must be.
I think Belinda's school is at the place Alie is working as a housekeeper. Alie's music teacher works there as an event planner. I've been wondering if B was there. It's often used as an artist's retreat. The combination of school and subject made me think of her.

The dogs are in a frenzy. They have some wild animal cornered in some shrubs next to the house. The tallest are lilacs, and the critter is up high out of their reach. But the barking is driving me nuts. I can't go out there with my gun because of the number of large picture windows in the area. I don't want any bullets to ricochet off the bricks into the windows.

Suzy, Belinda works at Nepean CAPA at Emu Plains.
Blood tests showed the tumour markers had dropped slightly. That means this latest Chemo may now be holding the cancer from spreading. We will know more next week after the CT scan. The person giving me the chemo today said with some of the new drugs the prognosis for pancreatic cancer is now about 2 -2 1/2 years. better than the 5-11 months I originally thought. I aim to see Laura go to High School next year and maybe for a couple of years there. Just took a nausea pill so hope that I make it through the night.

Great to hear that the tumor markers have started dropping, June. That had me really worried (you, too, I assume).
Gil is still playing his games. I have no idea why the divorce is being held up, but the bills are still being sent to him and he sits on them until the service is turned off. THEN he turns the bills over to me. And until the divorce is final, the utility companies can't switch the bills to my name. I plan on getting a little revenge tomorrow. I'll tell you all about it after I do it. It IS legal.

Heidi - you go girl!! Good news June - there are so many advances in medicine, who knows what is ahead. Suzy - good you are getting out and about. When is Alie's 21st? Hope you have a lovely celebration. I'm off to Brisbane again on Friday for the 90th birthday - so looking forward to it. My brother is now coming too - his partner had a nasty turn on Sunday and ended up in a hospital interstate, a pacemaker put in and they are now on their way home with caravan. Their 3 month trip is being put on hold for a while, but typical male, can't bear to miss anything!! Son no. 2 off tuna fishing for the weekend so hubby will only have Truman for company. No 1 son in China somewhere - no-one ha heard from him for nearly 2 weeks, I am getting worried as he goes overseas and never plans ahead. His only wish this time was to learn some Mandarin in Beijing and then head off to the countryside and end up in Tibet. Away for nearly 3 months. He goes to the airport and buys the first cancelled trip out of Australia - so it will be a mystery trip. Work calls again, bye for now.

Hi, Everyone! I'm a bit more comfortable tonight - maybe because it's earlier. I hope everyone is well!
Suzy, the gift you chose for Alie is very thoughtful! I'm sure she'll be thrilled! I read the article about CFS and found it very informative. Only needed to remove one extra space before the word 'got' and it came right up. I'm quite impressed that you are getting out on an almost daily basis! It would be so easy to find things 'requiring' you to stay at home. Good for you!
June, what wonderful news that your tumor markers have dropped! I'm thrilled to hear that your chemotherapy seems to be working to keep the cancer from spreading! I think your activity level is remarkable. You certainly put me to shame!
DOrA, that story certainly gave me a chuckle. The jockey had obviously not changed into his silks for the race . . .
Heidi, did you find out what was aggravating your dogs the other night? Luckily you don't have close neighbors who would complain to you about the barking! I can't imagine why Gil is dragging things out with the divorce, especially since HE asked for it. Is there nothing that can be done to 'light a fire under him'? (Figuratively, of course.) It makes no sense that the utility companies allow him to continue this, knowing that he'll drag things out until the service is turned off before giving you the bills to be paid. Isn't it a big inconvenience to them to need to keep cancelling and reinstating your service? Will they let you pay ahead and keep a credit (assuming you have enough cash available to do that)?
Heidi, I hope you enjoyed the Lions Club meeting you attended.
It's good to 'see' you, Midge! Enjoy the special birthday celebration in Brisbane! Sending healing wishes for your brother's partner. A pacemaker can work wonders! Is tuna fishing considered sport fishing? I hope Son #2 enjoys the weekend. Thinking positive thoughts for Son #1. He certainly seems to have an adventurous streak! I hope your work is not too taxing! Have a great weekend!
I'm hoping for an early bedtime tonight, so will go check email and take a peak at Facebook. Good Night and pleasant dreams to everyone! Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, healing energy, prayers, and

The utility companies don't care too much, but at least they aren't charging me penilties for turning services back on. Some things I can set up for automatic payments from my checking account even tho' the account is in his name only. But some companies won't let me do that. But I have figured out how to have the electricity and water turned off in his house, and he'll have to pay $80 penalties for each to be turned back on. And he will get no warning. I'm doing that tomorrow. Revenge.
