Yesterday Ken had to go work the bar at the club when the young barman called in sick. He was supposed to take me shopping so I went on my own. Bought myself 1/2 dozen oysters (Ken does not like them ) and then 1/2 kilo (1 pound) of prawns. We enjoyed a prawn cocktail each for dinner.
While shopping the centre had a black out. It was a black out over a large area. Thank goodness we did not have to evacuate. It is a large shopping centre with about 400 shops, three large supermarkets, 16 picture theatres, full size ice rink, small bowling alley to mention a few things. You can imagine how many people and cars were there. However it only lasted about 15 minutes.

Just popping in to say Hi. Had a very nice high school reunion. Small town and all classes can attend, so saw people all the way from class of 1987 back to class of 1940, including former neighbors, friends of parents and/or their children! A very nice weekend!
I hope your epidural is one of those hum-singers, Heidi!

If my calculations are correct, it's about 4 more hours for Heidi! Hope it's a doozy!
Julie, my primary school (3 thro 6) is celebrating 150 years in September. My high school (7 thro 12) is celebrating 50 years around the same time. I'm not sure if I'll go, I probably would have if hubby was here. I guess I'll wait and see.

Suzy, that is a hard decision about the re-unions. I love re-unions but not when you would have a lot of questions to answer.
We went to lunch yesterday Laura gave us a $25 lunch voucher that she won in the school Mother's Day raffle. We used it before it expired. Today was shopping. I find I come home rather tired and have a sleep. We also had a very large dead tree removed from the back yard. Now we have some gardening to do and to put back some of the bromeliads that were growing around and up the tree.

I guess Heidi has been resting after the epidural and getting ready to celebrate her divorce.
I do hope that MizT and her daughter are both OK. Must check TOS to see if she has posted there.

The tornado that hit Birmingham (where MizT lives) was a few miles west of her. She should be just fine.

Tornadoes are hitting this area right now. Hodgenville, the county seat (and Abraham Lincoln's birthplace) has had at least one touchdown in the last 10 minutes. And the tornado siren in Magnolia has just gone off. But the radar and NOAA say it'll be going a few miles to the north of me. I hope nobody (except Gil) is hurt.
Speaking of Gil, he was here yesterday removing furniture, and he smashed the drain pile from the sump pumpm so the sunp pump cannot drain water like it's supposed to. So now the basement is flooding and there's nothing I can do about it right now. I will be talking to my lawyer on Monday about this.

My sister took me out to lunch today. To an area called The Spit. A part of Sydney Harbour called Middle Harbour. A lovely sunny winters day. Millions worth of beautiful yachts moored at the marinas. Unfortunately I did not take my camera. We had beer battered flathead with chips and salad.

Stay safe from the Tornados Heidi, and also from Gil. I hope you insisted on having a witness when he came to collect the furniture. Also that he will have to pay for the repairs. I do hope that you hear the divorce is final very soon.
My daughter Belinda will be 51 tomorrow. Where did all those years go? We will not go and visit her as she is riding dressage tests all day.

Anecdote: Dana went to a baby shower tonight, with Tahli. The others are with what's his name. At one point everyone laughed hysterically at the same time. Tahli became distressed and ran to Dana who gave her her earmuffs. A woman there who works with families in distress asked if Dana had considered getting her assessed for autism. It was a good call because I've heard several stories of women saying, why didn't one of those trained and experienced people say something? The good news is she is already diagnosed and the ear muffs worked!

Early treatment this morning. Came home and pruned some plants in the garden. Neighbour came out so we came inside for a cuppa. Garbage man came so I brought in the bin. Did some washing and put it outside to dry. Ken came home so we had the rest of the soup I made yesterday for lunch. I thought I might try and have half a game of blows today (now Tuesday) so went with Ken for a roll up (practice). First end I could hardly get the bowl half way down the end. Second end I had three of my four bowls in shot. Third end I had four bowls around the jack until Ken put one in front. I was very pleased with my progress. Four then I could no longer hold the bowl in my hand and my legs started to feel funny. I came home and slept part of the afternoon and another three hours in front of the TV. I think my blood pressure is out of wack as I am not very steady on my feet. We bought a blood pressure machine but it is still in the box and I am not trying to work out how to use it at 2 AM. Just had a couple of Panadol, cup of camomile tea and some toast with honey. Back to bed as now I should sleep.

June, that was a good news, bad news post. It's great that you are doing things you enjoy! Not so great that you tired quickly and are now unsteady! I hope you are right and it's just blood pressure variations, though that's not good either. Gentle hugs. Hope you got back to sleep and feel better today. β€οΈπΊππΌπΈβ€οΈ

It was a dull winters day. I have been a bit wobbly all day. I did drive to the shops, missed the turn off to the parking area and that made me wonder if I should have been driving. Made a big pot of chicken soup and also lamb curry for dinner. I did take my BP and it was a bit low but it has been like that for ages. Off to bed soon as we have to get up early. Getting a new AC for the dining room. That one warms/cools all the living areas. I will no longer have to be cold when I get up in the mornings.

June make sure you are drinking plenty of water - dehydration affects low BP and makes it worse. Good to see you are doing things that you like.
Heidi hope the back stays easier for you. And wish you can have your 'freedom' celebs soon.
Tami - thoughts are with you - a hard time.
Finally heard from no. 1 son in China - after a month grrr. He rang me for my birthday and I think that is the first time he has remembered. As he put it he is 'floating around China' and will probably stay there for another 2 or so weeks before Tibet. Had renal clinic yesterday and brain MRI appears stable after being on blood thinners for DVT - it took me three attempts to find out if I could have them before they panicked and realised I shouldn't be having thinners with an aneurysm. Now to find out what is going to happen about the clot in femoral artery caused by them cutting it accidentally. I truly am a lab rat.
Suzy - so glad Tahli is going well. What a handful D has with the 3 littlies. Hope A is coping better now, along with you!
MizT - how is your daughter? And you?
Julie - you sound so very busy.
Back to work for now, cheers to all.

Still thinking of you Tami!
Looking forward to celebrating with you Heidi.
I had a good/bad day today. I finally did some stuff I had to do related to hubby, but because that made me emotional, I effed up a lot. Cried in front of a stranger. Not really a stranger, I knew her when I was a bopper, but didn't recognise her. She recognised me though. So she was a stranger to me, but I wasn't to her. So much of my childhood is missing!

I may be taking my life in my own hands, but.....
''THE PERFECT MAN''
A man walks out to the street and catches
a taxi just going by.
He gets into the taxi, and the cabbie says, 'Perfect timing. You're just like Frank.'
'Passenger:
'Who?'
Cabbie:
'Frank Falstaff.
He's a guy who did everything right
all the time. Like my coming
along when you needed a
cab, things happened like
that to Frank Falstaff
every single time.'
Passenger:
'There are always a few clouds over everybody.'
Cabbie:
'Not Frank Falstaff.
He was a terrific athlete.
He could have won the Grand-Slam at tennis.
He could golf with the pros.
He sang like an opera baritone and
danced like a Broadway star and you
should have heard him play the piano.
He was an amazing guy.'
Passenger:
'Sounds like he was really something special.'
Cabbie:
'There's more. He had a memory like a computer. He remembered everybody's birthday.
He knew all about wine, which foods to order
and which fork to eat them with.
He could fix anything.
Not like me.
I change a fuse, and the whole
street blacks out.
But Frank Falstaff could do
everything right.'
Passenger:
'Wow, what a guy!'
Cabbie:
'He always knew the quickest way to go in
traffic and avoid traffic jams.
Not like me, I always seem to get
stuck in them.
But Frank, he never made a mistake,
and he really knew how to treat a woman
and make her feel good.
He would never answer her back. Even if she was in
the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate,
shoes highly polished too.
He was the perfect man!
He never made a mistake.
No one could ever measure up to Frank Falstaff.'
Passenger:
'How did you meet him?'
Cabbie:
'I never actually met Frank.
He died and I married his wife.'

The birthday is winding down, for today. I gave Alie a guitar, Dana gave her $100. Bren gave her a game, Skyrim, a jigsaw puzzle he knew she wanted, and a ticket to fly to Queensland to go to some Halloween thing later this year. My brother's family is giving her a sewing machine, she has asked for one. Tomorrow night she is going out with friends, Saturday night we are going out with my bro and family.
