Suzy - that is not acceptable behaviour!!
How awful for Dana, and making threats against the baby is scary. I don't blame her for not wanting to stay there - but, on the other hand, why should she leave to feel safe. Is she going to contact the authorities - police etc??
Suzy - surely this is not something that often happens to your kids or your husband. I'd be ashamed of my fellow Australians if it was. I've never seen it first hand myself.
I sometimes despair of the way the world is going. We like to think people these days are more tolerant than previous generations, not less.
Off my soapbox now!

Judy, what wonderful news. So much tension taken away. Enjoy life.
Suzy how awful for Dana. I did not think the girls appeared to be American. Around us we have nearly every nationality. Especially because we are near the University.
Took Laura to see 'Epic' today. Cost $8 (Senior Member) for me and $14 for Laura. Laura enjoyed it. Made by the makers of 'Ice Age'.

Cyn it happens a lot. I remember a few months after we came to Australia one of the girls asking me why people kept saying bad things about Americans. They've both had teachers make jokes about Americans. Pensford if we'd moved to the big smoke...

Could you at least translate that last sentence, Suzy? Pensford???

The police HAVE to be called. This is not just harassment. It's terroristic threatening. A serious crime in all civilized countries. Also, she needs to contact the newspaper and tell them the story. They need to start public awareness of this problem so it can be stopped. Ignorance, bigotry and hate tend to wither away in the spotlight. In the meantime, I'm glad Dana is keeping Tahli safe.

A hot, sunny day today. I need to do MORE mowing before the Vet gets here. After that, I'm picking up the RV, ready or not. (Unless the monitor has just come in and they need a couple more hours to install it.) I'm expecting a wild reaction from IH. He ALWAYS has a fit when I buy anything, but eventually realizes that we DID need it. This one may be his most extreme reaction yet. I still remember his reaction when he discovered I'd bought a small house next door. Now it's his office building and he loves it.

Heidi, safe journeys for you and your friend. Did you ever find your cell phone? I am sending you a private message with my cell number. Call me and let me know you arrived safely and I can post on here. You know everyone will want an update. If I don't answer, just leave me a message.

Suzy, how scary for Dana. And for her parents. But I guess Dana might be afraid if she goes to the police, it might get worse because the police can't be there 24/7 and if the lowlife find out she called, it might get worse. Is it possible for her to talk to the police on the QT and perhaps get them to patrol the area more often? Here in Canada we have what's called Hate Crime Legislation and I'm pretty sure this would fall under that.

Munching on leftover corned beef... started flossing particles out from between teeth.... a tooth went flying out of my mouth. The temporary one. I'm just gonna glue it back in myself. If it doesn't hold, I'll leave it out. The permanent tooth is due to be put in on July 23rd.

Hi, Everyone! I've been trying to get caught up on reading, but having difficulty remembering everything.

Heidi, I'm glad your epidural was a doozy and you're being careful about protecting your back. Keeping fingers crossed that the paper work you need for Sere can be accomplished quickly and everything that needs to be done on the RV and trailer can be done accurately and expeditiously!

V Viv, good for you for getting those walks in!

MizT, so sorry you weren't able to see the fireworks. Hopefully the flowers will be returned to their previous location. So glad you worked out what day it was before making a call about Lakeshore.

Mamacita, your holiday BBQ sounds like a big success. How nice that you could see fireworks on your drive home. You set an amazing example for the meaning of family!

June, good for you for tackling the door repair. Hopefully with a bit of assistance you'll be able to get it properly aligned for closing! Enjoy the weekend with Laura at Belinda's.

Suzy, I hope the chooks all get along. Hopefully Tahli is feeling better and she didn't share any germs with other family members.

Cyn, hopefully nothing more than what you suspect is found with Col's heart. Keeping you both in my positive thoughts and prayers.

Theresa, a kitten seems to be a good addition to your D and grandies' family! I hope most of the high heat and humidity has passed!

Broni, does the company's fiscal year end June 30th? That would indeed be a busy time!

Rolanda, seems you've been busy with your guests. Hopefully their return flight home was on time and safe and you can return to a more normal schedule.

Tami, seems you have had a very lucky weekend! So glad you could all enjoy the zoo and can look forward to a baseball game and a movie! Congratulations to you and your family. Good for Mitchell for donating blood!

And now, it's off to bed for me. Feel free to share the prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing vibes, , and positive thoughts with anyone who can benefit. Enjoy what is left of your afternoon, evening or night!

Unless the monitor has come in since 4 pm yesterday, it hasn't been installed. I plan on unhitching the horse trailer at the farm and leaving it there while I visit for a few days. Without the backing camera monitor, it will be a nightmare to hitch it up again. There is no back window, and the RV is 31 ft (10 meters) long. I don't need the camera while the trailer is attached, but it's important to have while using alone. Even though the previous owners seemed to use it for 9000 miles without the monitor.

Morning all.

If you are on TOS, check out Animal Rights for Kemptville Walmart site. Our local Walmart is in hot water over a firing incident because of an employee speaking up about a dog being left in a car on a sweltering hot day. The site has over 12,000 members from around the world. This is the town I live in, a town of about 2,500 people. I don't think I'll be shopping at Walmart again.

Theresa, I read that, and was totally in disagreement with what the wal mart manager did. I think the associate did the right thing, reporting the man for leaving a dog in a car with windows rolled up, especially in the heat you have been having. I hope some caring business owner will offer a job, a BETTER job, to the fired employee.

Gil has now seen it. I had been thinking about charging admission to people to watch his reaction. I'm glad I didn't because I would have had to refund their money. He took it like an adult. He was surprised, but he did NOT over-react. He's already looking forward to traveling to his niece's wedding in September in style and comfort.
I have had a long day, though, and need a short rest before doing more. Over 4 hours at the dealership going over everything in the RV. I stocked up on lots of food for birds and dogs (but forgot cats). I purchased food, drink, and staples for the trip and for the house. And I have a splitting headache. See you soon.

Safe travelling Heidi. I hope you are able to get help when attaching the trailer.
Looks like no one has been around today. I have been in and out but also making a Cheeter costume for Laura for a school concert. I gave it to her to try on and now I cannot get it off her to finish it. She will go home tomorrow and back to school Tuesday.
The screen door now shuts. Ken said I had put the screws in the wrong holes. It was not easy trying to hold up the door and get the screws in!!!
I also got out the winter dooner and put it on the bed. Much warmer in the night.

Hi everyone. Sorry that I haven't been able to post recently, but I have been catching up with all you have been doing. Life has just been so busy, that I haven;t had the energy for any input.
Renae doing well but still not back at work. Greg and I have been busy with the re-build of our place that was flooded. Seen builders, assessors, signed contracts, picked new stove, paint colours for inside and outside, bench top laminex, floor coverings and I have given Renae the job of picking the tiles for the bar room floor, bathroom floor and wall tile After building 2 homes,I never wanted to do this again, but here we are. Even the gardens have to be re done as everything died while under water.

Lost my next post, then noticed that it is not showing me up as a member which I have paid for.
When I tried to email them, that does not work either. Me and computers are just not compatible.

Maybe if I swear, the Hall Monitor will look into it.

Hi everyone, hope you are all feeling well.
last time I posted I mentioned that I was having drain problems. We have finally got the problem solved. I had to call a specialist out to sort it. After trying everything they had to put a camera up the drain. The findings were a shock.. there was a brick in the drain practically sealing the pipe. After a little more work they got the drain working again, or so we thought. Overnight we had another flood. second call out for expert got the boss who had another look with camera and then tried other things to dislodge the brick which fortunately he managed to do after 3 hours working on the hottest day we have had this year. In all it cost us £400 (aprox $600) but that was a fraction it would have cost if we had had to have them dig to remove it. This brick must have been there ever since the house was built in 1978.
Hopefully we will have no more problems.

Tomorrow the log cabin is being erected in the garden, Looking forward to that being completed. Then we have to wait for the patio to be laid. Not sure when that will happen as we are second on a waiting list when after he has finished his present job.

Nola... I understand where you're coming from. I have serious problems with modern technology, too. Would it have been easier to rebuild from scratch, using the same foundation, or wasn't the damage that extensive? And what are the odds that you'll get flooded out again? Thanks to global warming, our weather patterns have gone haywire.
