OH, ruby, you might try next time to avoid the fire ants. Prevention is the best treatment of those things

Hey Ladies....I'm almost free of all of the distractions that have been keeping me from posting regularly!!!
The Wedding Is Over! It was absolutely breathtaking! My daughter was a stunning bride, outfitted in a white and gold sari. Her attendants wore beautiful crimson and gold saris...The groom and groomsmen wore the traditional Indian garb, encrusted with jewels, studs or other shinny stuff. I don't know what to call the outfits. My description doesn't do the clothes justice....they were out of this world! My new son-in-law is from an Island near Malaysia, hence the clothing was in keeping with his tradition. Everyone looked grand! The only problem that occurred was that the wedding didn't start until an hour late. The ladies, being unfamiliar with saris didn't realize how long it would take them to get dressed properly...Duh!!! It was a good thing that we had a live trio who was able to play great music to take some of the sting out of the delay...all in all, everything went well! Pictures will be posted as soon as they become available.

Hi everybody.
Mama... so glad that the wedding went well and like everyone else will be eagerly awaiting photos.
Viv... I have now got 29 smilies and have another 7 specifically for the cruise to submit. There is another dozen that I probably won't have time to downsize.... we'll see. Depends on if I forget I have another life!!

Heidi...
at the KY State Fair [and with all the traveling]
Ruby.... I think Vici's [?]suggestion about Mama Mia cyber karaoke is a brilliant one... I shouldn't sing out loud but I do so if you stand near me you'll be right... no one will hear you because of the racket I'll be making.

Jonjo... hope you sort out the smilies... after having to go and drag my son away from whatever he was doing every few minutes I have now managed to be able to sit here downloading and reducing photos for hours..... argghh.....what a way to fritter away a rainy, cold Sunday.... that was almost all I did other than go to the gym yesterday and cook some snags. MizT's instructions are, as per usual, spot on and should make things easier.

Rena.. how long will your house guest be staying?
CynB.. how are the accounts going? I think your attitude re the sale is wise [though hard to maintain at times]

See, I knew you guys were smart! So how come if all of you know how to say Dana, we are yet to meet one person in this town who can say it correctly the first time? Ebob wanted to change her name until a teacher told her, through me, to correct everyone, especially teachers, until they get it right. It was like I had a new girl! I didn't realise how much it affected her. That was until she changed her name to Ebob anyway....

Bean do you think our virtual voices will sound the way the songs sound in our head rather than the way they sound when they come out of our mouths??? We'd sound fabulous if they did!

mamma, i am so glad the wedding went well. the saris sound beautiful!
cynb my fingers are all twisted up for you. hope you get concrete results soon.
the sudoku site has been great. lots of ?s on how i have time for it. well, with my best friend, husband bret, gone, i get rather lonely. this has been a great way to have somewhat of a social outlet without all the responsibilies of attending lunches and such. maybe an hour a day in sudokuland is not very time consuming. remember, i am not currently on a smily quest so not much time has been invested really. and i am on mostly at night with all the aussies. notice everyone in the states have gone to bed! when my husband is in town he kicks me out of the house to attend to my social life. once he even used his frequent flyer miles to send me to italy with my parents. he knows i need a break and takes care to see that i get it. in the mean time...thanks for being there sa5 friends!

Suzy - I have to admit I probably would have pronounced it Darna, but don't tell Ebob that - it might bring back the old complex about it.
Mamacita - glad the wedding went well despite the saris. Now you'll have time to relax with us on SA5.

Mariana, mine only mostly puts his dirty clothes in the basket, and only occasionally leaves the seat up, BUT, he does the cooking when he's home, which makes up for a LOT!
Definitely an Aussie quirk Mariana. One we didn't consider when we named her (hubby and girls we all born in LA, moved to Oz in 2000 - though I'm an aussie)

CynB, it's our secret, but she probably would have been surprised if she didn't have to correct you (and she would have!). I know how she feels, but I guess I'm older. Ran into my nephew in a shop a few months ago and, although I don't see him often, I was surprised when he called me something like Leanne, followed by 'hey everyone, this is my aunty'. I said, very quietly, if I'm your aunty, how come you don't know my name??' Just last night I ran into a woman I've known since I was 8 years old and she called me Sue-Ellen....

Mariana, I hope this isn't too personal a question, and if it is just tall me to pull my head in, but why is hubby away so long? I don't think I could bear it. Let us keep you company.

Suzy, I looked up both shows for the cast names but the X-Files, which I didn't watch a lot of, just said Scully, so I didn't cotton on to the Dana thingy! (Day-na for sure)

Hi Gail - how are you today?
I do understand, Suzy how annoying it can be when a person gets your name or pronunciation wrong. This is from someone named Cynthia who has learnt to answer to Sylvia because it's easier. But believe me people who persist in calling me Sylvia because they're not interested to learn what my real name is, do not last as a fixture in my life. With the exception of my SIL (hubby's brother's wife) who has called me that for 15 years, she is family and like that with everyone's names. I just put up and shut up!

I think it is a geographical glitch with the kids at day-na's school that they can't pronounce it.
I do think Ebob is rather fun tho...makes me think of an Ewok which she mightn't think so cool!!
