Sorry I've been busy all day and have just found that everyone's been concerned about Viv. Just sent her a text so I hope she has her mobile with her because I don't have her home number. Will let you know when I hear something. Sorry, Vici, Heidim Ruby and Rena - you've probably all gone to bed but I'll post when I know for sure.

Yay eaa...way to go....could do with some company at the funny farm here in my lovely little padded cell..... the men in white coats aren't really much fun..... no sense of humour....I get the feeling that nobody understands me in here.....

Oh, and to you lovely girls in America - it may look, on a map, that Brisbane and Port Macquarie are close but they're not. It's a long drive non stop - over 7 hours 540kms.

Whereas for me to get to Broni's place or vice versa is about 19kms and 20-25 minutes depending on traffic.
No answer from Viv yet.

Gail - Me? Lady of leisure? I've been busier in the last few days than ever, but I think that's mostly finished now except for a visit to our financial advisor. Colin is on top of the world, happy as a lark and the new guy is a nice fellow so they're getting on like a house on fire.
Still no word from Viv.

Well, what a nice 45 minute read to catch up, sorry I had to sleep and miss all the chatter.

Hubby managed to get up and out to his office earlier today than I have seen in forever. well, he did fall asleep after dinner last night, so I guess he got his sleep quota in early. Good thing, he needed time to check and answer any new e-mails for business, fore his helper arrives today. Then back to chewing up some more lunber, timber for the Aussies.

HEIDI, was reading on EASY your comment about the recession and more animals given up to shelters. I can tell a difference here. In our rural area, we usually get just weaned puppies and kittens dumped on the roadside by people not wanting them, but thinking "if we take them to the country, they can run free and find a way to survive". Yeah right!

Now, we are seeing animals of all ages roaming around. One of our neighbors seems to attract all the strays. He feeds them and then hunts for new homes for them, usually dogs.

we get the Mama kitties with a new litter showing up at my house. I have rescued 2 litters and the mamas. I get them healthy and solialized and then run adds for Free kittens and have found homes for all of them so far.

One mama I could not find a home for and had to take her to the humane society, and HOPE she was not already pregnant again. any incoming cat that is pregnant is automatically euthenized thier first day there. The shelters say it is just too costly to try doing a spay/abortion operation, and they loose so many of the cats after spending that much time and money on them.

Every time I buy more cat food, I can see why families are forced to make a choice, feed the animals or feed the children. Cat food prices going UP and UP and UP, like everything else.

VICI, I thought up in the california mountains, it did not get so hot in the summer. You have the bad of both seasons, hot summers, and cold snowy winters.

Hi Tricia - I'm back...hubby is off to breaky date with friend. We do get all the seasons here (we are in a rain forest area so spring and fall are magnificent!) - summers have been getting progressively hotter (gee - wonder why????)
Use to be summers were in the 70s and 80s...now they are in the mid to high 80s to 100.
Also, use to get colder winters and more snow than we do now.
