Afternoon all!

So not here, supposed to be meeting the bus...

And now I've forgotten what everyone had to say! And I've just read it! I thought walking was supposed to fix that - 4.5 hours today. Wondered why my neck and shoulders were aching when I got home so I weighed some pamphlets... Turns out that when I was trying to carry 30 houses worth of pamphlets at a time I was carrying about 7.35 kg. Ouch!

Heidi - I asked him why he didn't leave the pup with her mother for the 2 weeks and he said the woman was going away on holidays too - but, hey, wouldn't she have to get someone to mind the mother, why not the pup as well?
If I have to, I'll get a friend's mother to come here and stay for the 2 weeks but I'm not offering him that solution yet, let him think of it himself - I'm still too annoyed!

Cyn, every time we get a puppy I swear I'll never get another one. They chew stuff up, mess up the floor, dig holes everywhere.... It seems my memory has always been faulty though and by the time we are thinking of another dog I've forgotten.

Oh me too, Suzy.

Now that I've got over my little hissy fit, I have to think of names. The puppy is a female champagne pure-bred poodle, so I need suggestions for champagne related names?
One comes to mind - Sparkles but there must be more.

BTW - just got official confirmation from Gath that I am the winner of the baby competition. I guessed closest to Flynn's birth.

Thanks Heidi, Bolly's good - very AbFab. I'll submit these names to my IH tonight - over the bubbly we are having to celebrate our freedom.

I suppose I should stop calling him my IH - he's not too bad really - the last really idiotic thing he did was want to buy the business 10 years ago that we have just sold . It sent me grey and doubled my size (No! It had nothing to do with chocolate that I've put on weight!)

I'm tutoring soon. So don't want to! Walking has left me wanting to curl up in a ball (if my stiff muscles will let me) and sleep for a while. I might try to sneak in a hot shower before he gets here. I will feel a little better then....

I wouldn't dare call my husband IH. Imagine what he could call me in return! TBIW? I mess up far more than he does...

I wasn't going to but I'm going to say it - when I think of Cyn shouting Bubbles or Tipsy at the top of her voice I imagine her with long blonde hair and a vapid expression... remind you of anyone??

A friend just called in to give me some puppy food (the same one whose mother I might get to Puppy sit) and she looked at the pic IH/Colin sent me on my mobile and she thinks puppy looks like a 'Bubbles' - so we'll have to wait and see. I will post a pic but I don't know how to transfer from my mobile to the pooter so I'll get him to do it tomorrow.

Good Maen sudooluland, I am back!

My coffee is making and I have a nice piece of chocolate awaiting me, so life is good.

Surgery went well, surgeon said they did not find any surprises, looked just like a pre cancerous polyp. He sent off for biopsy, but is expecting a clean report.

Get out your nags, I am on limited activities for 2 weeks. I must read the list this morning, but I remember, no lifting and no pushing the sucky thing, not sure what else. But I will send you AL's e-mail address so you can nag at him to do the things I should not do hehehe. I am going to be a good girl.

Now, wouldn't you know it, those of you who know me, I had to do something unusual to upset the doctors? anesthesia was to be a spinal, and the anesthesiologist had problems geting it in. Stuck me about 5 times in the back before he got it right. He would start to put in meds and I would feel a pain shoot down right side of my spine and tell him so. Twice I heard him say, if I cannot get it this time, you are going to sleep (general anesthesia) Surgeon really wanted/needed the spinal, saddle block so I was completely relaxed in his working area, so anestheologist kept trying.

Well, on the way home, all the senstion returned to the site of the injections in back and the sensation was Pain. Center of my back and down both legs. Once I got home, so bad that although had only been 2 hours since a pain pill, I had to tke another. Relief, ahhhh, but it only Lasted for 2 hours.

My sister phoned just then and asked, My Goodenss, what is wrong? As I told her, she said, that is not your surgery pain, you call the doctor and you call now. I said Yes ma'am, and put in call for surgeon. He listened patiently and questioned me closely and said, sounds like a problem from anesthesia , let me phone and consult with him, I will call you back.

In less than 5 minutes, the anesthesiologist who had done the spinal phoned and he questioned me closely. Yep, probably trauma to spinal nerves from the injections. Asked if I could take antiinflamatories, Nope, allergic. Fineally agreed, I could take my pain pills every 2 hours over night if I had to, ( more concerned with how much tylenol was mixed with the narcotic) but try to space them out nearer to 3 hours. If it got bad, go to ER for IV pain meds. I asked about icing it , and he said, good idea, try ice (I already had and it was beginning to feel a tiny bit better) Also, continue drinking lots and drink cafinated drinks (eating chocolate has caffien doesn't it?)

So I have been up and down tonight, and I have taken more pain meds over night than I would have expected to take for my whole post op recovery, but I did get a bit of sleep and when I was awake, did not really care.

Back to bed for me, lying flat is still what feels best, and only sitting for short periods. Makes the back act up again if I am upright too long. Recliner is not even comfy,

Does 'not pushing the sucky thing' apply to all of us during your recup MizT?
So glad to hear the current thinking is a good prognosis.
Sorry to hear about your nerve pain.
