Sorry I can't say GO DUCKS this weekend!
I'm a BRUIN alum. So GO BRUINS!
I do have to say the Oregon Ducks is the best team (this year) in the Pac 10. We (Bruins) need a win - badly - that is because we have played so badly in games that we should have won.
If we lose to you this weekend and USC (ugh) beats ASU - Ducks have the Hammer. If the Bruins beat the Ducks & USC while the ASU looses to USC and AZ - that would make for an interesting finale - the "Civil War" would be for bragging rights as to which team will be part of a 4 way tie with ASU, USC & UCLA.
I wish the Ducks good luck - but not this weekend!

Terry, and let me begin with saying how sorry I am to have not welcomed you to your page here in sudukoland earlier.
I have been away for the weekend and just caught up on the "weekend" posts. Loved your "management" post yesterday, but we seemed to have lost the last section. Any chance you can jump back in a post the rest of it?
to celebrate your page (better late than never) lol

Terry, thanks for reminding me that I needed to upload the photos I lost over our big Jan crash. Emily has been dancing for what seems to be "forever", 10 years this year, and I cannot see her giving it up at all. (big sigh) Its the costumes I tell you, they are killing me. She started using pointes last year, and hubby and I have both agreed, that if we start to see any damage being done to her feet, it will be time to give it up. You mentioned "theatre" what is it you got into?

Hi Terry - Since I just got back from my TJ run, haven't figured on when my next will be. I know Keith has family in Eugene and gets up that way, fairly often. Dave will be back in a month or two - but last year, even when in Oregon - he wasn't - he was off traveling. I see we also have some Portlanders on the site. Maybe in May, we could get Keith up, check on Dave's schedule and talk with others from this area. Once June comes along, I'm pretty much booked through to September with Britt Festivals. I know I will need a TJ fix by May - if not before.

Terry, welcome to sudoku and your own page. Would that be Eugene, OR, home of the mighty Ducks? If so, my daughter and her family live there, and we visit them every few months, and have come to like Eugene quite a lot.

Maybe, maybe not. The restaurant has only been open since Thanksgiving, but is doing quite well for a fledgling business. He should try it. I'll bet if he does, he'll be bringing you in to try it. It's open from 10 AM till 6 PM, closed Sundays.

Hi Terry! I've been trying to remember if it was you who said you liked the movie "Chocolat" & asked where the chili Vianne used came from? I can't even remember what day we talked about it & am too lazy to go back searching! Anyway, Chocolat is one of my all time favorite movies, too. Glad you've joined our Sudokuland crowd -

That sounds like a great picture of your son dressed as a leprechaun. My nephew spent last year in Israel. He went after graduating college. He is now in NY in his first year in Rabbinic school. He is due to go back to Israel in 2009 for a year of study. He will be in Israel for my son's bar mitzvah. He spent about 3 months on a kibbutz and enjoyed it. I have to go someday. Hope you have a nice Passover. Visit my page anytime.

Terry, glad to know my memory was correct about your Chocolat comments. Funny that you also liked the MisterRogers you-tube. I'm like you & rarely watch any of the music you-tubes, but once in awhile I enjoy a sentimental or funny one someone sends me via e-mail. I think we may have similar tastes. Now I will really go out on a limb - did you once say you had an Irish setter?

Terry, I saw your comment today. Now from someone who is half Irish, just what is wrong with your son having a leprechaun to help him have fun for Purim?
Hope that he and all of yours enjoy your day! Cheers!

Terry! I am embarrased to tell you how much time I have spent looking for smilies and avatars! I'm talking WEEKS here!
I usually Google whatever I'm looking for. For example: "Christmas image" or "Easter Greeting image". Up comes hundreds of web sites that I wade through. This insanity started when I didn't want to copy any of the smilies and avatars others were using. Some of my avatars are Maryland inspired. Flag, state bird, state flower, etc. I googled "Maryland State flag" and there were lots of pictures to choose from. I use www.shrinkpictures.com to get the right size. I believe Angie posted some instructions on the Forum page.

Terry, appreciate your tips from your bar mitzvah's. I have until Jan. 2010. My son wants a baseball theme. I live in a townhouse and don't have the space to do it here. One of the local parks has an enclosed party room. I am thinking of renting it and having an indoor tailgate party. Burgers, dogs and such. They don't allow hard liquor so I can just do beer and wine and cut down on the bar tab. I also do not like to dress up and if I do baseball I can wear jeans and a jersey. I will start really looking into it once the school year is over. I have a cousin in Austin and fell in love with that part of Texas. We thought about moving but all or our family within 45 minutes of us. Take care.

Hi, Terry. I made the avatar some time ago and don't remember the details. But IIRC, I downloaded a stop sign from a clip art page into a Word document, filled it in with red, then drug the pre-created "HalT" into the sign. I would give you the details about how to do it but it is in my desk top back in South Carolina. (I'm in Phoenix, Goodyear actually, with just my laptop. I'll be here for three months, so if you still need help in June...
)
Hope this helps. Hal

You're welcome.
As I recall, when you send a msg on a member page, you are asked if you want to submit an avatar, if you don't already have one. The grands are great kids (of course) and I love them dearly, but I'm not sure I will survive three months with a 7yo girl and 4yo boy.
Just kidding, they're lots of fun. Thanks for your concern about Patty, but not to worry. She's deployed, but to a location in this hemisphere. She's the commander of an AZANG detachment with a rather special capability. I won't bore you with details, but if you are really interested go to: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19831490/
A coincidence: I am a retired officer also; but Air Force not Army.
Finally, on your comment about what's worse: it was taken in the spirit in which it was given and I understand what you meant.
Hal

Yeah, Germany was a great tour. We were at Ramstein AB and Rhein-Main AB from '72 to '76. I was in a special ops squadron flying in the C-130. We dropped paratroopers all over western Europe. Aviators are a different breed of cat, aren't they?
I certainly enjoyed being one.
Yes, we're pretty proud of Patty. Of course, we're proud of both of our daughters.

Yes, my dogs have very trim, rock-hard, athletic bodies ... just like their "mom" ... yeah, right! We are year-round hikers and race walkers and spend 4-5 months a year in the California Sierras, so they get a lot of exercise. Hunting is natural for vizslas, a type of pointer, and they are always stalking, chasing, or flushing some critter or another. Like your pooch, they are great watch dogs ... but back the warning barks up only with kisses and licks.

I've been busy sewing costumes and starting to make stage props again, and hence I havn't been catching up on all posts lately.
And naturally while I sat here waiting for my paper mache to dry I thought of you.
Hope all is well, have you re joined the theatre yet?
